I don't know if this has been covered already, but I HATE listings with a reserve!
What is the point? We all know a reserve is at least £50! Just put your starting price at the minimum you'll accept and then everyone knows where they stand.
I love them- it puts other buyers off, I put in my bid, and when the item has finished for less than I would have paid I often get second chance offers from sellers who realise that maybe it's not worth much after all. I only ever put in a price over a reserve once someone else has and if I think it's worth more than £50 :D
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

You've got a point; I bid on a reserve auction yesterday - my bid was £160 and the auction ended at £53 without the reserve being met.
Thanks to you I'm now awaiting an email offering me the item! ;)

I've been reading through this thread, and recognise many of the things that irritate me. The worst is when buyers put L@@K in a description, aahhhh!

One of the main things that would put me off buying from a seller is if they are based in Hong Kong or around that area. A family member was stung once before and I've read in the papers that it's a business for some people over there to use eBay to rip people off.

I totally agree about stock pictures also poorly taken pictures. Although I did take a risk a while ago on an item with no picture. I got it for a third the price of similar ones and it was in excellent condition. I wouldnt do this for expensive items though

Crap picture doesnt always mean crap item. I often like it when an item is poorly photographed and described. It means a bit more work for you, asking questions etc, but more chance of a lower price.

Spelling mistakes - I admit everyone makes the odd few but if they're consistently through the article then it puts me off.

Picture - I want to see a picture of that exact item, not just one that's been sourced off the internet.

Description -I want to know if there are any defects I can't notice on the pictures, how long the persons had the item, and preferably a reason; if its not private.
