As a buyer what puts you off a listing?

no I do too, I actually prefer it..
I happen to like centre lined text! Am I the only person?? Lol. I like it when they make it easy to read basically, big font (not HUGE font), centre lined.
I often change the name of whats being sold, to a differant colourI'm 100% guilty of doing this, I find it easier to read..
And I use auctiva layouts, and I use big red words to point out things.. like..This item is NOT in a good condition
I'm sorry, I can't help it
ie
For sale, Transformers DVD, v.good cond....etc
But it is always in a single colour that matches or compliments the picture, and never anything too loud or unreadable (so no yellow or bright pink's)
I'm a big fan of centralised text though. I'm actually put off by listings that are all off to the left. Also, I like it when colour is used to draw you to important information (as opposed to bullet points that look awful IMO) as I find it useful when scanning through listings. I tend to immitate what I like as a buyer, when selling.
I do dislike too much useless info and not enough.
A couple of lines, saying what you have, what condition its in and any spec. is all thats needed.0 -
I look at the seller's other items and if they are selling a range of different sized clothes then this suggests that they are not their own used items (perhaps from a charity shop) and this puts me off. I prefer if someone is selling their own used items and if they are a new ebayer with low feedback this is another good sign. This applies to clothes really more than say DVD's where I wouldn't mind as much.[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]

It really bugs me when people take pictures of their items hanging up in their really messy house! I was looking at a top which was hanging next to a TV (there was kids toys and other junk piled high the other side of the item as well) and in the TV there was a reflection of a really really fat hairy bloke in his vest and pants! EEEewwww!
Obviously this says nothing about the item at all, but it just makes me think that the seller can't even be bothered to have a quick tidy to make a good impression, or to check their photographs after they have been taken!
I also hate it when people take pictures of themselves in an item and they can't be bothered to make the item look at all decent. I was looking at a skirt and the picture was of a fat woman who had squeezed into this skirt (love handles EVERYWHERE) and was wearing a really grey old T-shirt with it. Again, this just makes me think that you really can't be bothered!
Also, haven't you kind of stretched the skirt slightly....'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport. That's how British I am' Constantine-Simms. :T

I fear this seller may not be around much longer as they have posted on the community boards with a real ID. The usual 'add £2 for postage because ebay won't let me'.

They have been warned on the seller boards that they are going to get it sold at 99p and then get a neg and NPS complaint, but they obviously don't want to listen to advice! I'll bet though they will be the first to complain when it all goes wrong and their neg means they can't sell anything ever again.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
