Hi guys I have just joined this forum....I am getting my kitchen redone and had been scouring the net for the cheapest built in appliances available because I am a single mom with a young child...

I ordered a fridge, freezer, hob and oven from this company but now reading these bad reviews I really want to get my money back asap...What is the best mode of action?..

I have to hurry up as well because the person who is going to fit my kitchen is going to be doing it this week and that date is nonnegotiable...

I am really worried now because I paid a good amount of money to this company...I am worried I am about to be scammed...Is there anything that my bank can do?

I suspected a glowing review was about to follow-but i could be wrong.

Blaksista,If you ordered over the phone or online you may still covered by distance selling regulations, plus any other offer the company make in their t & cs.I do think it would generally be wise to get your appliances in your home before you have such a tight deadline for a kitchen fitter though, from any company. You may come back and tell us you decided to stay with this company and their service was brilliant and all promises kept....

Please let us know what you decided to do.

Had a missfortune dealing with the company.

Ordered washing machine 18th November and had to go through the address verification stage whereby they promissed to send me a leter with code by 1st class on the same day. I received it on 22nd November. When I phoned in to arrange delivery was put on hold several times taking half an hour in total!!!

Item delivered on 26th November 2010 - NOT WORKING.

Phoned on 27th to arrange a speedy replacement and was told that I have to go through a repair by BEKO.

I protested saying that it was delivered faulty so I reject it so they can either exchange it very quickly or collect and give a refund. I stated that I would go with the repair if it broke during service by as it was delivered faulty they have to take this machine back.

They argued that I can not reject it because it was signed for. When I rubished that, they said that I can not reject because I installed it. I rubished that again by stating that plugging in is not installation and in any case it was faulty on delivery so they are in breach.

The phonecall was ended on the note that I reject it, will buy a replacement elsewhere and write a letter before action to them asking to either collect quickly or it will be taken to third party storage and they will be sued for all the costs involved in addition to refund via the County Court.
  • Scrudge,

You'd think that most sensible companies, especially independant ones, would know that you're not trying to pull a fast one having only contacted them the day after delivery but unfortunately you're not dealing with a sensible company here. They can't even get the sale of goods act right amongst all their other shortcomings.

Why on earth should you be fobbed off with a repair from the manufacturer at such an early stage, your contract is with the retailer and the goods must be fit for purpose.

    Hope it all gets sorted.

I think that the idea is once forced to go ahead with repair then it is difficult to reject goods as in many cases accepting repair could be argued means goods acceptance.

I did a search on the company with companies house - and no such company - JUAL Domestics Ltd exists!!! They are actually JUAL Domestic Ltd - could not get even THEIR own name right!!!
  • I'm a bit nervous now, too. I just ordered a mini-fridge with Jual, and I'm paying £19 to have it delivered, but I don't think I'm strong enough to carry the thing up four flights.

All this worry just to save a measy £10!
I nearly ordered a Beko washing machine from Jual this morning, as the price was so competitive.

However when I rang them I was told that actually bringing the appliance into the property was 'down to the discretion of the driver' as only 1 guy delivers.

We have a long flight of stairs, so it wouldn't be much use for them to just leave it in our hallway as I am 7 and a half months pregnant, and I doubt OH is strong enough to carry it up on his own! :rotfl:

I just couldn't risk it turning up and the driver saying he wasn't insured to help carry it in, so I went with Boots Online instead who will take the old one away and bring the new one in to the room of your choice, plumb it in and run it to check all is well before they leave.

It's more expensive, but as an earlier poster said, sometimes cheaper is not necessarily better!

Whenever "just ordered" situation applies as long as they did not deliver there is a right to cancel under distance selling regulations. (after they delivered usually further 7 days - but you would have to send back)

Alternatively when they deliver do not sign for it untill they deliver it to your property!!!! If they refuse to eliver - refuse to accept the item and demand a refund.

Better have a video camera ready to back things up if required.

I tried to leave a review on Juals as reviewcentre and got this from them:

I have received contact from a representative of JUAL Domestics Ltd www.jualdomestics.com regarding reviews published on Review Centre. I have included a copy of the review you have written for your reference - (included below).
If you wish to stand by your original review (or an edited version), we ask that you provide your contact details for our records (full name, address. telephone number, plus any evidence to authenticate your review).
Nice that I recorded that telephone conversation with Juals Domestic!!!
  • I also was contacted by review centre when i tried to post my honest review of Jual domestics and was asked the same questions after the review centre was contacted by jual .
They removed my review and i am still waiting for it to be reinstalled,
thank god for sites like this that does not bow down to censer ship from firms that are afraid of reviews that do not go there way .

The trouble is with review centre is that they always seem to give in to Jual Domestics even when you provide them with all the authentication which they ask for.

If you locate the blog by s5.net ( Links are provided by other MSE members in related forums ) you will see that review centre say that Jual Domestics are very clued up about legal stuff ( Well, I'm sure they have had ample practice as all they seem to be doing is challenging customer reviews ).

It seems that the review centre legal team are not good enough to overcome Jual Domestics.

My guess is that Jual will also try to challenge you about the legality of your rights to record a conversation.

I hope to god that these comments on MSE will certainly make people think twice about buying from these obnoxious people.
