  • I am another one who should have read this thread before trusting the promises made by Jual Domestic.

Order placed in November, with verbal confirmation before and after placing the order that everything was available for delivery at the end of December (three of the items should have been in stock). I had a particular week I needed delivery as a new kitchen was being installed the following week. At the very last minute (late afternoon on the day before delivery) I found out they only had one item in stock, and didn't have any idea when they would receive the other items, at this stage they did offer a refund which seemed the best course of action.

Jual Domestic also managed to charge my credit card twice for the transaction. To be fair to Jual they did resolve this particular problem very quickly - I had a email response from them at 8:30 on a Saturday morning apologising for the error.

They were very difficult to get hold of on the phone, I was often on hold for ten minutes or more. Persistence did pay of and I would eventually get through to somebody, but not good service.

Luckily I managed to place an order with Boots Appliances who weren't that different on price, and could deliver within a few days. They offered a 100% more reliable service than Jual.

Sonnyjim, I have checked review centre and negative reviews (including mine) are still showing.
  • Hi

I have just checked the review site again today after your comment and they must have had a glitch yesterday when I went in as the site has now returned to it's normal format and all the missing reviews for Jual Domestics are now showing as they were in late December which I'm pleased about.

So, Review Centre, I apologise unreservedly for my comments on my last post and retract the things which I wrote about "arrangements" and so forth and about not providing impartial reviews.

Thanks to the last poster for bringing this to my attention.

Hi All, I just thought i would add my 2 pence worth
I placed an order with them for a fridge on the 29th December and was told it was in stock and would be delivered on the 6th Jan (today)I would be called the day before and given a 2 hour slot for delivery. All good till yesterday 4pm and I had not heard from them, I tried calling them on one of the numbers but it was just ringing out - I started searching online and came across this thread and started getting nervous, I tried the sales line and after holding for a few minutes got through to someone and I gave them my postcode - a man then told me, my delivery was the first of the day and was between 6am and 8am - I nearly balked and told him, I have 2 kids + a baby and no way could they ring on the bell and deliver before 7am - he got a bit rude and said they leave at 2am from their base and has 34 deliveries to do and basically I dont have a choice. I finished the conversation and after discussing with my better half decided that it was not acceptable. I called back on the same sales line and spoke to a lady and explained the situation, she was sympathentic but said some people do like deliveries that early and if I wanted to change it, I would have to wait another week (which I was unable to) In the end i agreed that if the driver arrived before 7 he would call me on my mobile and I would get up and accept it to my front door and if it was after 7 he could ring the bell. To cut a long story short he called on the home line at approx 7.20 saying he was lost, I guided him in and he delivered my item at 7.35. All in all an interesting but nevertheless satisfactory result from Jual. Oh and by the way the fridge was cheaper then anywhere else.
  • I have had a poor experience with Jual. I bought a Bosch Dishwasher from them which arrived damaged. They seemed to take my complaint very personally and at one point during a conversation with the Customer Service Manager when I was requesting an estimated delivery time so that I didn't have to take a second full day off work, the phone was picked up by someone else who didn't give their name but described themselves as 'having the authority to talk to me'. He told me they weren't prepared to discuss the issue with me anymore and hung up.

I did get a replacement undamaged 3 weeks after the original damaged delivery.

I have just left a review at Reviewcentre. I'll post a reply if I get any threats!

I too wish I had read the reviews before being tempted by the cheap prices.
  • New management? No management!
I ordered (and paid for) an Indesit Washer on Nov 4th 2010. Told not in stock - delivery within 10 days. Not delivered before went away on Dec 6th. Arranged for definite delivery on Jan 17th. Waited in all day - nothing. When telephoned said it still had not come and would be another 4 weeks. Unable to speak to anyone senior to vent my wrath. Cancelled and got one cheaper from Mr Tesco - delivered within 48 hours.
About the worst company I have ever dealt with.
  • these people really should not be allowed to trade, they are jsut stealing peoples money and provided zero service, support or goods.
  • I ordered a washing machine and dishwasher from this company. While their prices are on the low side, I ended up waiting 2 months for a standard dishwasher and washing machine. Their website indicated that they had these in stock and would deliver the next week. Each time I rang up, they used the weather as an excuse. I am sorry, but it snowed for a week, not 2 months.

I also paid to have my old appliances removed. The DID NOT remove these as I was meant to carry them to the moving van myself. What is the definition of remove if not to remove.

I will never do business with this company and neither should you.
  • Their website shows you items that they can get, it does not say anywhere on their site that the items are actually in stock.

People really should learn to read TOC's as it does state "The unit must also be outside of the property".

Who knows maybe things would be different with this company if their main office was not run by kids in their twenties. I called through to their main store and was greated by 4 staff stood around outside smoking, no wonder the phones go unanswered.

Obviously the new owners of the company are rarely at the office to allow this kind of behaviour carry on.

I would suggest that you also keep an eye out for when they will no longer be trading under JUAL Domestics, but instead under the name of Appliance Mania appliancemania.com

Result!! No not with that tinpot company Jual. they are as USELESS as ever.

Ordered the same cooker with another company. In stock, got to choose a day and a delivery slot and at the time of ordering. With cashback via Topcashback it actually works out nearly £24 cheaper than Jual even after deducting the £19 Jual STOLE from me.

Still no contact from Jual after I wrote to them, not worth the time & effort for £19. I don't however forget and I bear grudges against people/companies who cross me.

    To quote from their website...

How long will I be waiting for my item?
Unlike some other sellers on the internet we KEEP STOCK! Meaning we actually have multiple warehouses with these items in ready to deliver. Although we do have some items on our site which are special orders. We always reccomend that you call our sales team on 01977 609400 to check stock availability however before ordering.

I went for them partly on these grounds, but here I am two months on still waiting for a cooker...

    Regards,
    Jason.
