I was just sorting through my paperwork today and came across my driving test reports - I failed the first time on reversing round a corner. I passed the second time though accumulated more minor errors than on my first test (and the examiner still said it was a good test). I still think that the reversing round the corner that I did on my first test was better than on my second - but different examiners think different things.
Once I passed my gran commented that you only learn to drive once you have passed your test - which I remembered when I stalled going up an extremely steep hill in too high a gear and on various other near miss occaisions in my first 2 months of driving.0 -
I failed twice with 2 majors and no minors
The first time sombody cut me on the circle and i kept going failed because i should have slowed down aparently.
Second time i got cut on the circle slowed down and failed because i should have kept going aparently.
You can never win. Both them test's were with the same guy who incidently failed my aunt 5 times.
The first twice i was confident and felt i could do well. The 3rd time i was pooping myself and made a load of mistakes before. The guy was an older chap who took me for the test was quite pleasnt spoke to me the whole way through the journey remarked at how nice the country view was. Noticed i speeded a few times doing 40 on a dual carrigeway which was a 30 (Thought i'd failed)
Then pulled in at the side of the road and forgot to put off the indicator he made me do it a 2nd time and i remember that time.
Pulled me into the test centre said i'm sorry to say but...(My heart skipped a beat) you've passed (I went all numb). Could'nt believe it as thought i had definately failed. He said i was a good driver and he pulled in at the side of the road twice to see how i did as he thought i would have been better and less nervous the second time.
Spoke to my driving instructor after he said the minute he saw who it was taking me out he know i'd pass aparently he's never had a fail with him. He's an older guy and goes around all the other office's in the area so aint there often.
Seemed to me he was just out to enjoy his day in the car LOL.
Glad i passed was costing me £30 a week and i have an illness so desperately needed the car to get me out
The wife has her test on the 19th of next month we go on holiday the next day so fingers crossed she does well
Did anybody find the practical easier than the theory and vice versa?
I studied the day before for the theory passed first time with 100% wish i'd done the same with the Practical.0 -

1 of my 2 failures wasn't my fault because
a) it was valentines day and I hadn't had any cards whne I left my house at 7.40am for my 8.30am test
b) + it was snowing that day
c) + my instructors car broke down so I had to borrow instructors FILs car...learnt to drive in an Escort and took the test in a Fiesta.
Not the best way to try and pass a learner!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I used to work with a migrant worker.
He said he'd tried 6 times to pass the test. He said he'd run out of money.
I saw him in town the other day and found he was now driving.
I told me he has a license so I'm pretty sure he just paid cash and practiced by driving around untaxed, uninsured and without a license... extreme illegal moneysaving!
However, if you can find private land and an old banger you can probably avoid the 1st 8-10 lessons without getting thrown in jail.Order of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker0 -
