    Hi all
Late one for me today, hubby has spent the day finishing the underfloor heating, so now it's nice to walk around barefoot. Not much else going on here apart from stroppy letter from our local council, seems one of our neighbours has complained about us having bonfires & they are threatening legal action unless we cease. Problem is we haven't ever had a bonfire. I did suggest the council sent someone round to check, but they won't! So now I'm thoroughly p***ed off, I've been warned by the council that I'm in the wrong & they won't accept that the other person is mistaken or malicious. Do I get a summons & a fine just on the say so of a neighbour? Oh well, time will tell. Hugs to all.

    SueRob,

Get in touch woth your local counsellor.... thats what you pay them for, get them to sort it out for you, sounds like you have some really nasty neighbours..........you are entitled to know the dates when you were supposed to have had bonfires, if you can prove that you were not there etc......they have not got a leg to stand on.........the onous is on them to prove that you have had a bonfire.......otherwise they wil be laughed out of court......if all else fails see a solicitor under the free consultation scheme.......

    Hello all

Never got to do half the things I intended today. Forgot after all that to take lamb shank out of the freezer :( Didn't make it to the supermarket for reduced priced goodies either. I did go to B&Q and get some magnetic door thingies and new handles - for when I decorte the bathroom.

However, I took the mouselings into the pet shop to look around........ and got this urge to spend  I told them it was an early joint birthday pressie... and we are now the proud owners of 2 gerbils :D I love them - had them as a child and was always going to get my boys some - just hadn't intended to yet. And even better - we have holidays cover as next door's boys are desperate for their own gerils but their mum says no. They can't wait to look after them :rotfl:

So, we have a black one called 'Furby' and a brown one called 'Plasters' (apparently it's an eminently sensible name, my 3yo has informed me :rotfl:) i'm just hoping they are same sex, cos these things can't be guaranteed (my pair had about 40 babies :D)

Ok - off to furtle around the freezer for something interesting for tea, then it's Dr. Who tonight - yippee :j

    Catch ya later

  • Well DD is now home after a day gardening with her Grandad. DH won't be home "till it get's dark" - but he is buying a chinese on the way home so no cooking for me - I'm just having chips and gravy as my appetite is still small (hadn't eaten for over 48 hours - stomach still getting used to food) and yes I've lost 7lb - who said tonsillitis is a bad thing ;)

Downstairs is all clean and tidy, and have just made the bed with our gorgeous line dried sheets (can't wait to get to bed tonight IYKWIM ;) )

I'm toying with the idea of cleaning the bathroom - but then again when DH get's home from a day fishing at the lake he's only going to trash it again so I'll leave that till tomorrow.

    Hugs to all
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Happy Easter, one and all. :icotbaske

Not much OS gone on today, but I'm about to have a little catch-up in the hour before Dr. Who.

DS went to Church youth club this morning - 20p for 2 hrs - can't be bad! Regrettably, his Dad collected him and threw a teenage strop at being kept waiting while the lady Vicar (even though it was hometime) took the children through the Easter story at least three times (allow for exaggeration here, as we're talking a non-Christian with a hangover). There then followed a misunderstanding between DH and DS when the younger was under the impression he would be receiving an Easter egg prior to leaving and DH was just about incandescent with rage about being made to wait. Result was a giant-sized hairy nuclear over-reaction and one 7yr old in tears. :wall: I bet that took the shine off the good time he'd had.

Note to self : never allow DH into church unattended.

There then followed a tense lunch time (accompanied by more confused tears from DS who really didn't know what had happened and was blaming himself, saying "I should never have been born"), ~wince~ during which I opted not to eat and instead spoke to the warring parties in an attempt to smooth the troubled waters. :A

This afternoon went rather better, as we collected a Coffee making machine from a Freecycler and then spent two hours with DH's folks. DS was happy to see his cousin, who was also visiting, and hopefully his day improved from then on - largely helped by a big KitKat easter egg and a kewl new t-shirt.

So, I'm about to tackle the dinner dishes (DH cooked) and give the coffee maker a clean-up prior to its inaugural flight. Need to get the BM on and the WM on too. Chicken for tomorrow is out of the freezer defrosting, so I can tick that off the list.

Whoops, better get on! Have a great evening, all.
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

    evening all.
Its been raining here most of the day.
We went to tesco today instead of Asda as DD has her karate class right by tesco and Asda will be shut tomorrow.I found the prices to be much the same foodwise.Tesco does have some very good prices on clothes though.
Yesterday I finished making the easter eggs.
We had HM mushroom soup for lunch which was nicer than I expected(I found a bag of shrooms in the freezer).Tea was HM chicken stew with barley, which is very substantial ,we didnt have dumplings this time as they wouldnt fit in the pan.I put up my pea netting yesterday(to keep the birds off).It was knitted cotton on a huge stitch to make netting, bamboo canes and hose to make a joint for the bamboo.Looks good but will it keep the birds off??
I dicovered nearly all my carrot seedlings have mysteriously vanished,I blame the slugs and have declared war on the little slitherers. There's gonna be egg shell everywhere(mwahahahah).

Suerob - surely the council will need evidence before they can take it any further. I can't see their legal dept being happy if they take it forward without. Hope you get it resolved.

    Hello everyone

Not been on OS much over the last 3 or 4 days, but have been living OS (if you see what I mean :D)

This morning did the Netto, Tesco, Asda run (best prices in each shop) and then the farmers market (couple of gammon joints and some free range eggs).

The HM wine is bubbling away and we are starting another batch tomorrow. OH has made bread rolls for the freezer, along with 4 batches of pizza dough mix. Yoghurt maker is on, so we will have another litre of HM yoghurt in the morning.

Counting the points is going well and OH and I have both lost 11lb each.

Breakfast: oats, fruit & HM yoghurt and a glass of orange juice
Lunch: bulgar wheat cooked in veg stock with a range of veggies cooked in tinned tomatoes
Dinner: Cauliflower cheese (made with low fat cheese) and gammon (cooked in slow cooker)
Treat: a couple of glasses of wine ;)
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D
