    Morning all,

Miserable here at the moment although the forecast looks quite promising. I've been up for hours but not managed to move from computer yet.
Plans today are shopping at the local shops, then I want to sew a new curtain for the door, I got a lovely piece of fabric at a bargain price. It's not the sort of curtain that you pull across, just hangs at the side IYSWIM.
I have a lovely lamb shoulder to cook in the slow cooker, and must take the turkey crown out of the freezer for tomorrow. I'm going to make a trifle as well. Oh yum my favourite dessert, I don't make it often because I can't resist being a pig.
I'm looking forward to pottering in the garden if it's fine over the weekend, I love this time of year when all the plants start popping up.
Better go drag myself into the shower.
    Have a lovely weekend.

    Morning everyone :hello:

Well, I'm up early because we've got to pack everything up for our camping trip. I've got OH's super-duper sleeping bag, which should keep me nice and snuggly. :D I made a bolognese sauce last night for our first meal camping tonight, and our friends are taking pasta and a pudding! I was going to make chocolate beetroot muffins, but OH (!!!) insisted on making them instead. He's a very good cook, but I haven't been able to taste them yet as I finish my Lent tomorrow! They look divine.

Good news! Grandpa is now eating like a horse. He's had his throat stretched and is now on build-up soup. He has been told that he should come out of hospital on Tuesday :j :j :j. Apparently, he's claiming that when he transferred from the "short stay" to a normal ward, the nurse shed a tear. No doubt a tear of joy! ;) Not only have my family been visiting him, but also his next door neighbours, which is quite sweet of them.

Just managed to nab a £2 coin, so I'd better go and update my signature! :)

Have a lovely weekend everyone

    Morning everyone
Glad you had a goo time with your friends Smokey. My favourite way to spend time is at home with food, wine & good mates, you can't beat it in my opinion.
Skystar & JW sorry you both have to w**K today - on Easter Saturday definitely not fair. Hope you have an easy time anyway. At least you both managed some treats yesterday. JW I'd be interested in what you think of the tanning baody lotion. I'd like some because I'm very 'pale & interesting without the interesting' at the moment.
MrsMW I've made chocolate cake for today & for the same reason don't make it very often. My excuse is that it's Easter & I've bought some mini eggs to decorate the top so it'll be very seasonal.
Oh well - DH has just got up so I'll o & sit with him, catch you all later & have a good day.
    xx

Enjoy the camping Vicky. Some of our best memories are from camping trips when the children were young.

DD comes back for good from a long way away today. Army medic and can`t wait to get her roots re-established. Bought a house a couple of miles away and in the area where she was brought up. She has been nomadic for a long time. I suppose I am very handy now if grandchildren ever appear

Making hm bread in the chef and also hm scones. Proper tea this afternoon. Got her favourite green and blacks choc spread

I found the very dreaded vine weevil in a large pot yesterday. Grhhh. Nematodes take too long to work and my neighbours all have pots so I did the decent thing and got rid of the lot.. I wondered why all my primulas looked manky. Their roots had all gone. Trouble is they were around a camellia and then I saw the bitten bits on the leaves. Oh well

Dark and dull today after a gorgeous day yesterday

MrsMW (same initials as my mum!) your meal sounds delicious.
    Dobie enjoy your chocolate cake.

I got up early to a nice dry day, the weather forecast said dry but cloudy, so why is it raining now?

Already done one load of washing, DW not yet full.

DS2 has a swimming lesson soon, then a trip to the farmshop. The boys are having their haircut this afternoon, then I plan on doing some tidying up.

Have a good day everyone, hopefully will catch you later.

Have a good trip VickyA, Kittie, I made scones yesterday, had them with bramble jam, they were so good they have all been eaten.

Well, busy day today, so i dont have to do anything tomorrow!!! Luckily, the house is still in one piece after our visitors yesterday, we all had a lovely time, it is nice to see my family as i dont see them very often!!! WM is on, and once im showered and dressed, we are going to go and give out the last of the easter eggs, pop into town (i have a mystery shop to do, but its a foodie one, so shouldnt be too bad) and then to Tescos, to get the last bit of shopping i need, and hopefully see if there are any yellow stickered items!!!!
Then, back home to enjoy our easter weekend!!!! Have roast duck and all the trimmings tomorrow, but i bet it will only be me that eats anything, DS and DD have been VERY lucky on the easter egg side again this year, they already have 7 each, and im sure there are a few more to come!!!!:EasterBun

  • Morning all :j

Am slowly recovering from my tonsillitis - still got a raging fever and still feel like I'm swallowing cut glass, but the headache's gone and so has the fluey aches and pains - yey!!

DH dragged me out of bed to go shopping yesterday to get him some new clothes for his new job (shirts, ties, trousers etc) as he's only ever worked in scruffs before (trackie bottoms, t-shirts etc) :rotfl: We managed to get hm 4 shirts, 3 pairs of trousers, a new wallet, 7 pairs of socks and 2 ties for around 130 quid - which I didn't think was that bad.

DH said I could buy something if I wanted - so I chose a new knife set (sabatier) typical me!!! But I really wanted them and they were reduced from 60 quid to 25 quid so I couldn't resist!!

Then we went to Subway and shared a roll - it was the first time I'd eaten in 48 hours - and it was tricky swallowing but it was delicious !!!

Anyway I'm going to get myself dressed as my shopping's being delivered in an hour - better get me skates on!

    Sixth Anniversary
    Morning everyone

DD2's birthday today - she is 9 now and is feeling very grown up. No perty for her tho as we took her to see her favourite football team back in February on the agreement that was her 'present' and she also had half the team shop!!!!!! DH spent the day yesterday putting up curtain poles but unfortunately the walls in our house arent that good and most of the plaster kept falling down!! Still got the childrens rooms done just our bedroom and the dining room to go. Off for a walk to tesco's later to look for any stickered items!!!

Hope everyone has a good day

Morning everyone - lovely sunny day again here.

Pooky -just loved that smiley. Suits me too ;)

Vicky A- have agreat trip. Hope the sun is shining for you too.

Kitties - lovely news about your daughter.

stressedoutmumof1 - hope you are better soon. Easter eggs are very medicinal.

I eventually did a huge amount of house work yesterday and have just a few jobs to finish off today. The car needs a wash badly. Have visitors coming for lunch tomorrow so will need to do some cooking. I would also like to get some more of the little bit of garden overgrown. I think there just is another couple of hours work left. I am hoping to make a veg patch. DD home late this evening.
