We have BIL and family coming round later and are going dutch on a take-away (Indian or Chineese??) as Im not well enough to cook a big dinner for us all-they have 2 kids as well. ...... and am still working out DD's party for next Saturday. May start a thread later today and ask for advice on doing things as easy as possible IYSWIM.
Someone needs to take you in hand, PP. You are seriously doing far too much!!! You only came out of hospital Friday and are under strict instructions for bed rest.
Yes, I know that you have a wonderful OH who is extremely helpful, but even so, having visitors *is* tiring, and entertaining them on top of that when you are having daily injections and a being put on a drip twice a week isn't fair to you or your health.
Surely they know this and that you are back to the hospital on Thursday? And to be hosting a birthday party 2 days later really is just too much to expect of you, even if they are all helping.
Dear Lord, you need to recouperate; not be the Hostess with the Mostest. I'm sure they all mean well, but I don't think they are really giving your needs the priority deserve. "Strict bed rest for 2 weeks" really doesn't mean having relations over with their kids for a jolly up nor hosting a birthday party in your home. Even if you retire back to bed, the noise is still all around you.
Rest!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Afternoon everyone
Just me and DS2 today. Mr TM was out by 9am and won't be back until about 5 and DS1 isn't back from Beavers camp until 3 (friend bringing him back as we did the outward trip) So, we've had a good old play, a soak together (ok - I soaked, he drove Mr Bun the Baker's van up and down my legs :rotfl: ) and have just been out trying to source various bits and pieces. Having a late lunch whilst I have a browse.
Hae decided which combi microwave i want and have just tried to see if Comet will lat me have it at their online price, but they won't. Worth a try eh? Got it to within £10 but rather I had the £10 than them so shall be putting an order in later.
I need to do some mega tidying up for a while then I shall set to on the ironing and may watch GP. Will be doing a CQ curry for tea as didn't have it last night - reminds me, must get turkey bits out of freezer along with some more milk
Ok - lunch nearly finished so I'll bid you all a good afternoon. Hope everything goes well for everyone

Afternoon everyone,
I had a lovely lie in this morning thanks to DS who got up to keep his little sister amused so I could get some rest. I even managed to get up the stairs to take DH a cup of coffee in bed. Now I've had a nice leisurely bath and washed my hair. I feel so gooooood
XDH came round this morning to take DS to the BBC exhibition they are holding locally, DH is doing a concert this afternoon and it's just going to be me and DD and it's holidays tomorrowOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Afternoon all
Had a very lazy start this morning and didn't even wake up until 10am.....DD's were on 2nd breakfast by then!
We've just been out to buy some seed trays and compost to start my veg seeds off, had to scrap the idea of the veggi patch as we've got workmen coming in the next few weeks....but got plenty of buckets and tubs to use....worth a try anyway.
Got 4 kids from 7am tomorrow so will get them all scrubbing the tubs and helping me plant up the seeds - should keep them amused for an hour or two.
DD's have just earned their pocket money by dead heading some bushes in the front garden - it's raining now though so they've taken refuge with a dvd and some choccy biscuits.
Brekkie - cereal and toast
Lunch - not today, breakfast was late.
Tea - Toad in the hole and roasties
Must do a bit of cleaning later, bathroom looks like a bombs hit it and the PC desk is looking a bit cluttered.....will potter whilst DH watches the GP.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Afternoon all :hello:
PP - PLEASE try to rest! We don't want you back in hospital because you haven't been able to rest at home because you're too busy!
We've got back from our little jaunt to Leicester. Unfortunately, my team didn't win in the rugbyHowever, on the plus side, we don't have to spend money on going to the semis or finals 2 months before our wedding which could be spent on our honeymoon! No, I haven't convinced myself yet.
After the match yesterday, we went shopping in Leicester and my friend (chief bridesmaid too) managed to spot a pair of shoes that are ideal bridesmaid shoes. A quick phonecall to my other bridesmaid and we're in business. OH managed to hand over his debit card - bless him!
Last night we had a lovely curry, but it meant that I had a restless night as I was so full up. Whoops.
We had breakfast in our local little coffee shop. Their bacon sarnies are divine - and then we had a cake each. Whoops. Tea for tonight is going to be a salad.
I've put my first load of washing outside to dry for the year. Typically, the grey clouds are now out in the sky................ sod's law, isn't it?We've also just been to Tesco and bought a washing basket as last summer I relied on OH carrying the clothes whilst I pegged them out!
Anyway, I'd better go and deal with the pile of ironing I've got waiting!
Vicky

Hello everyone,
Its quiet today isn't it!
Not much O/S going on today, DD's and I have been to church for Passion Sunday. Its a lovely service today, lots of choir singing to listen to which I really enjoy. (Wish I could sing) DD's went to junior church and played football in the hall afterwards with all their friends ( I think this is the reason they are keen to go tbh,) DD1 got a ball kicked by accident into her eye, she is hoping it turns black for school tomorrow!
DD's are now at PIL for a few hours so it is very quiet here now OH has torn himself away from the Grand Prix. He is pottering around in the garage repotting all my seedlings. I am supposed to be working on my appraisal for next week at work but am putting it off.
Made black saturns yummy fruit cobbler yesterday with a tin of peaches, it goes down very well wich Aldis fantabulous chocolate ice cream - the only chocolate ice cream OH likes. They dont have it in very often - you can usually see where people have sorted through for it, loads of strawberry and caramel flavours left, but the chocolate is obviously popular. I stocked up yesterday when I found they had some.
Once I have got through this appraisal rubbish ( I really hate this stupid appraisal system we have, its like being back at school, especially with a boss like mine   ) Im going to settle down on the settee with the sewing box.
Enjoy the rest of the day all.0 -
Queenie-Thanks for your concern but the way you've chopped my posting around makes it look/sound like I am doing too much:eek: Since coming home from hospital I have been fixed to the sofa with my quilt, pillow and laptop. I wouldnt say Im entertaining later as I will be in PJ's and still on the sofa and the kids will be playing upstairs. Family are fully aware how ill I am but its me who want them round-there not forcing themselves on me!
DD's party is very important to me as I dont know how many we could have left....I am not being a Hostess with the Mostest just a good mum who cherishes every minute spent...and am very good at delegating..LOL. My hubby is fabulous and am very lucky to have him...most men would have run off by now:D I have alot of jealous friends who would take him off my hands tomorrow.
Please dont worry about me hun, you have your own worries to deal with. Did you manage to get your jobs done today? You always seem so organised and focused, but I suppose it comes with age and wisdom.
Hugs
PP
