    Morning everyone

Trying to type this whilst playing I spy with DS2 :D He had a bad night illness-wise, but as with little kids- is bright as a button at the moment  It's me who's tired :D

Anyway, (((hugs))) to all in need and happy belated birthday, pawpurrs :)
Glad to see you back again too Funky Fairy :j
Jo - don't worry about your boyf - he has to learn to stand on his own 2 feet - whether with or without you. And it will be lovely when you get your new bed :)

Today I will see how it goes with DS2. Hmm - trying to potty train when ill not the best idea - but I'm running out of time and it's the only time I have him to myself with no school for a week. He's saving it all for night-time cos I was stripping beds at 5am cos of an overly wet nappy :D

Did anyone else buy that Allinsons Whole and White type flour when it was BOGOF in Tesco? I bought 10 bag and it's dreadful - I just can't get it to rise. I think kiwichick had the same problem. I still have 5 or 6 bags to go and it's going to take an awful long time just adding 100 gms to my normal flour :D

Ok - need to put WM on, check if DW is full and I'll let DS2 help me clear out DS1's room (I "moved" 1 bin liner of stuff from his room yesterday - I most certainly did not throw it away :rotfl:)

Hope everyone has a great day. Catch ya later

TM I bought that flour too and although it doesn't seem to rise quite as much as a white loaf I'm not having any real problems with it, the bread tastes great :) Perhaps you could combine it half and half with another flour so it doesn't get wasted?

    Morning all

Have the family descending tomorrow until Monday!!! Been busy tidying, cleaning and generally wondering where all this dust comes from. Really missing DD's - they'll be back tomorrow but it's been horrible without them.

Lots of OS cooking and baking this afternoon - got 13 people here for Saturday and Sunday meals (arrhhh) and I'm doing it all out of my normal weekly food budget (I will be very creative).

    B - Toast
    Lunch - HM tomato soup
Dinner - Veggi chilli and pasta

I've been using the johnsons holiday skin tanning stuff and it's great - I've got very fair skin and I've used the lighter one. I normally apply for 2 days then use normal moisturiser for 2 days - gives my just a hint of colour, will step it up a bit as I start showing more skin...much nicer than other fake tans I've used and so easy to use.

    Have a good one all

Ha ha Bargain Rzl you do make me laugh. That sleeping too much and getting dressed in a whirlwind like SuperWoman is me to a T. Unfortunately we have a clock in machine here, and they aren't above checking the cameras to see when you arrive if you "forget" your clock card. Did somebody say "Big Brother"?? You were lucky your boss was a bit later than usual, and you're right, what she doesn't know won't hurt her!

I'm in a bit of a bad mood today. This is a result of sleeping too much. When I went to get changed after work yesterday I was about to put my evening clothes on (old tshirt and old joggers) when I thought...ahhh, I'm undressed, I'm tired and there's the bed! So I hopped in. Slept from about 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm, got up and pottered for a while, then went back to bed about midnight - only woke up once during the night - so I must have had about 10 hours sleep...and now I'm grumpy!! Is there no justice!

Smokey, Michelle, totally sympathy regards the kitties - one of mine is a long haired beauty but the hair he sheds is something else. I have a roll of masking tape for hair removal purposes in my bedroom, my kitchen, my car and in my desk at work - the hair gets stuck to absolutely everything. The kitty in question - Ted - is so gorgeous though, he's worth it.

One of my colleagues had a dental appointment this morning, so arrived at 10.30 am. She clocked in and immediately went on her tea break. Is it me or is she taking the p*ss!! She normally goes on her break at around 10.10 am... OK I am v.sensitive about time-keeping since my chat with my manager, but it does seem that the rules are a bit flexible depending on who you are.

Guess I should go and do some w***....bye!

    Thanks moggins :)

I have changed quantities with other flours, yeast, even the program on the BM - from white to wholemeal, but nothing seems to work - unless I add only 100 gms of Allinsons to 500 gms Aldi white flour, and with 120mg Vit C.

I wouldn't mind, but as it's still not 'white' looking, like the shop bought whole and white loaves, DS2 still won't eat it :( Kids, eh? LOL

I know just what you mean, DD won't eat it either yet she ate the brown bread sandwich Daddy bought her in town :( You can't win eh? Never mind, DH and I loved it so much we got through two loaves in an afternoon :D

Frizz - thanks from me too about the tanning lotion tip-off. Not sure whether I'll try it but it's certainly a thought. I've never tried ANY fake tan because my natural skin tone is soooooo snowy white that I'm always worried it'll look a bit weird (I tend to be one of those women who swans around in wide-leg cotton trousers all summer rather than exposing my legs which are paler than anybody else's I've ever met)! Does it have an SPF rating?
No it doesn't have an SPF - so you will need to use it with your normal sun protection. It is very easy to use and I am very very fair - ginger hair, and it is great. Its comes in two different skin types (fairer skins or darker skins) and you do build it up gradually.

    Good Luck with it! :D

TM have you tried mixing it further still with White? I know when I have made 100% Wholemeal loaves in the past, they have come out like bricks!! :(

So I always make my Wholemeal loaves half and half now, and I also add a crushed Vit C tablet, which seems to help with the rising.

    Good Luck :D

Edit: Oops just noticed your post above! :o

  • Wow! I've only just managed to get on the computer (DD has taken charge this morning ;) ) and I can't believe how many threads there are already!!

Kitchen is lovely and sparkling, WM is on and I've got one load drying on the line :D I'm about to tackle my bedroom and then DD's - she has to help though (wish me luck  )

I've been on the phone to my bank this morning to arrange a payment holiday for my mortgage for next month - DH will get paid 1/2 the month by his old company and 1/2 the month by his new company - I'm not saying I'm cynical but I think there's too much room for error to enable us to pay the mortgage so I've pre-empted (sp?) as I don't want the mortgage bouncing  They were great and whilst I was on the phone they've moved our payment date by a couple of days as DH will be getting paid 2 days later than he used to - so for once I am happy with my bank (did I really say that ;) )

Anyway must get off my behind and clean these bedrooms.

    (((((hugs))))) to everyone

Ok - so I had to buy a new microwave last week. It's a not inexpensive Panasonic - and it has faults - the turntable doesn't go round smoothly and one of the feet is the wrong size do it's currently standing on a bit of folded envelope - very chic, I must say :) Curry's don't have any more in stock so I have to have a refund. :(

The upside is that it still works - so I can use it until the Comet one turns up (hopefully) on the 21st - and I got to go through Greasypalm again - so another couple of quid there :D
