Let's have a look at the facts: You joined in Dec 05. I joined in Mar 05. We both hit 1,000 posts on the same day. That tells me that you post waaaaaay more than I do ;) :rotfl:

Though as you say, we are now still neck and neck, so maybe your chatterbox tendencies are rubbing off on me :o:D

I'm clock watching again until I can legitmately leave work (at about 5:01!). Boss left at 4:00 so could sneak off but daren't risk it! I will then be away from work until Tuesday.

I am off to visit my best friend from uni tomorrow. She is meeting my boyfriend for the first time, so hopefully they will like each other. Then it's on to my mums on Friday for Easter weekend before a quiet day at home on Monday before it's back to w**k.

I did go to my friends BBQ after my step aerobics last night. The men were outside doing their caveman bit with the barbie, & us girlies were warm & snug inside!

    Happy easter all,

    Dora x

MATH did say that he might not be able to get in contact much while he's away over Easter.

By the way, there are a few folks we've not seen much of lately

What's happened to mossy? She's not been on for ages and I used to really enjoy her posts!
Is it me, or has PoshPaws not been on for a while?
    At least ancasta'scoming to Blackpool!

    drum roll please...........................

My bathroom is tiled! Taa-da! Well, the walls are, just leaves the floor, plus the bath to go in, which is coming tomorrow (allegedly ). I'll post a pic when it's all finished, cos I know what a nosey lot you are :D

Got a pan of chilli bubbling away on the hob; I want an early tea so I can go the gym after Corrie. The ironing pile is pretty small, so I might get that out of the way as well.
I'm another Johnson's holiday skin fan, I find it far easier than fake tan & use it all year round.

No doubt I'll be back later on

I still have my guide uniform and my brownie uniform as well as my guider one. Now 40 (cough splutter) when I was in my early 20s we had a fancy dress party and I could get into my brownie uniform (either I was very thin then or I was round as a child can't decide) - all my brownies ( I was Snowy Owl at this point of the Pack I'd been in) thought it hilarious!!!! And I got a special prize from the District Commissioner for "bravery"........... :D
Rage in Eden, you made me smile when I saw that you used to be Snowy Owl. I haven't the foggiest what it means but I am guessing that it was a very important and responsible position in the Brownies. What does Rage in Eden mean? I don't think I have ever been Rage in Eden, but I might have been and not known I was. BTW I am called SnowyOwl because when I needed to set my userid I was stumped, so looked around the room I was in and the calendar for that particular month had a lovely picture of a snowy owl, so snowy owl it was...

W*** was v.w***like today. There is a new bloke there who I've been getting on v.well with and it definitely lifts the day have a bit of a giggle with him. Don't be going buying hats though, the boy is gay, though not obviously so. I've been teased that I am going to have to order a wedding dress but I just say that I'm "not his type" and we're only ever going to be friends! Otherwise, silly boss woman kept out of my way, someone brought in some chocolate so I scoffed a handful before it went off, and I forgot to bring my bran muffin with me this morning so I "was forced" to buy some biscuits and eat those. Like I would have starved if I hadn't...

Here's the recipe for the Bran Muffins - actually Apple Bran muffins

It's adapted from The GI Diet by Rick Gallop

    Ingredients

    45g/1 ½ oz All Bran
    225mls/8 fl oz skimmed milk
100g/3 ½ oz whole wheat flour
powdered sweetener – equiv of 75g/2 ½ oz sugar (or be radical and use real sugar!)
    2 tsp baking soda
    ¼ tsp salt
    1 tsp allspice
    ½ tsp cloves
(I never have cloves, smells like the dentist’s! I substitute the allspice & cloves with about a tsp of nutmeg, which works fine)
    180 g/6oz oat bran
    80 g/2 ¾ oz raisins
1 large apple, peeled and diced into small chunks
    1 egg lightly beaten
    2 tsp vegetable oil
115 ml/4 fl oz unsweetened apple purée (available in jars, or make your own…or substitute with pure apple baby food)

    Method
    1. Turn the oven on to 175ºC/350ºF/Gas mark 4
    2. Very lightly grease a 12 muffin tray
    3. Get three bowls
    4. In the largest bowl mix the All Bran with the skimmed milk and let soak
    5. In a separate bowl combine the flour, sweetener, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices. Then add the oat bran, raisins and cubed apple. Mix together well.
    6. In another bowl mix together the apple sauce, vegetable oil and the egg.
    7. Now add the contents of the second and third bowl to the bowl containing the dry ingredients
    8. Stir until all ingredients are wet, ie you can’t see any dry flour or oat bran etc
    9. Spoon into the muffin tray
    10. Bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly golden

:j I used to have a Snowy Owl in the Brownies. She was one of the leaders along with Tawny Owl, Grey Owl and the "big chief" Brown Owl. :rotfl:
Snowy Owl was the nicest one cos she was nearer our age, is that not where you got your name from Snowy Owl?

Hi Chewy62 - no..never been in the Brownies ever! As a child I lived deep in the N.Irish countryside miles away from everything and so it was hard to be a member of anything outside school hours. I was always v.jealous of my cousins who were Brownies, they seemed to have so much fun and so many friends. OMG maybe you are my cousin....:o:smiley:
