    gotta go, good nite everyone.

We went to Cairns for our honeymoon. :kisses2: :D We returned a few years ago for a holiday as OS was working up that way. Wasn't really impressed with the changes. Very touristy & geared for the Japanese. Oh well, that's progress I suppose.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning eeveryone!

It's a cold and overcast morning here in N.Ireland. I do hope it warms up in time for the Easter break. Just one more "get up" before the long weekend yippee!!

I have been up since around 5.00 ish - been worrying about the neighbours. No, it's not a love thing! One of them has a cheeky little boy who is just a tad too confident for his own good. Yesterday I caught him and his friend at the back of our gardens battering a neighbour's fence for no good reason! The friend stopped when I went out but the cheeky boy gave a load of back chat so I went to his step-mother. She's usually OK but this time she just wouldn't accept that the child was doing anything wrong, and kept asking if it was my fence and if he had broken anything of mine. Grrrr!!!! That's not the point! The child in the meantime was laying full blame on his friend "It wasn't me..." blah blah blah. I'm expecting the father to come over to me later today to tell me to shut up. Damn neighbours, they would drive you potty. This little kid - he's about 10 or 11 - is well known around here for being a brat, even the window cleaner got an earful off him.

Thanks to the "grabbit" board I sent my mother an enormous bunch of freesias for about £18. I'm now in MotherOwl's good books as the flowers arrived out of the blue - this is definitely £18 v.well spent. I might send some to myself as they were apparently v.fresh, beautiful...etc etc.

Otherwise, the land of SnowyOwl is v.quiet. It's a w*** day today, nothing unusual there, just hope Mrs Boss Woman keeps away from me. She's not evil - her problem is that she can't cope with the demands of the job, plus she's got the social skills of a chimp at a tea party.

Welcome to Dillbert - your posts last night were v.funny. Hope you got rid of the evidence before Her Indoors got home...

Hope you are all well and as happy as you can be today.

JW.......how did the boyf's interview go????

Apparently it went quite well, he seems pretty confident about it all really! They say they will let him know over the next few days so fingers crossed he gets it. Hopefully it will prove to him that he can do things by himself without my help if he gets it - he did his own clothes, got himself there on time and seemed to have things to talk about.

  • Morning all

Feeling pretty lousy today - have got tonsillitis again (really swollen tonsils so it feels like I'm swallowing crushed glass, fluey aches and pains, fever, headache and general malaise  ) I'm on holiday as well - so that's just not fair

Anyway just a quick one for me this morning - as I'm probably going to get back into bed and feel very sorry for myself. Fortunately DD (7) is an angel when you're ill and looks after herself and brings you drinks :A

    Bye for now
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Yay nearly easter! Breadmaker is on, whiring away.
My legs are killing me today, strangely my calf muscles. so I am going to have a day off the exercise as I am going to a salsa night tomorrow, I am going with some really good friends, but one of them has just admitted to being terrified to dance, so I dont quite know what to do? As he will look silly just standing at the sidelines, as no one at the dance can dance and I know everyone will wonder why he came if thats how he feels.
They are the sort of people that cant say no, then let you down at the last minute, and as much as I love them to pieces its very Irratating.
Why is it that today is weigh in day, and every thursday the scales seem to jump up from weds figure???

Hugs to those that need them.

Needle nurse was here earlier at 6.30 today, so all over and done with for another day:D

WM is on, DW needs emptying and toilet is cleaned. Hoping the weather holds out so the washing can be hung outside again. Bedding is airing ATM and have a pile of washing from yesterday needing to be put away.

OH needed to get something last night from our local sainsburys and came back with a few very good buys. 2 x 8 Organic chicken legs fresh...reduced from £4.50 to 20p (put in freezer), large beef roasting joint was £9.55 reduced to £1 Freezer), 3 x covent Mushroom soups cartons..normailly £2.25 to 20p each (now in freezer), 1litre organic fresh milk...normally £1.66..reduced to 10p (frozen now), mushrooms..normally £1.90 now 15p, Posh choc muffin x 3 x 2 normally £1.50 for 2-now 10p (2 lots frozen), fresh chillies reduced to 5p, deli roll for OH normally £2.20 reduced to 10p. With what he needed spent a grand total of £2.47 and there was nearly £30 of stuff:eek: He is going to go there a few times a week and see what bargains he can grab and this was about 10pm.

Snowyowl-Sorry to hear about your problems with the neighbours. My little nephew is 6 and he is a little sh*t-but if you met his parents you'd understand and there not very nice people. There not welcome in our house:p although our nephew is, cant blame him for his parents lack of discipline and lack of standard etiquette.

    Racyred-Lovely to see you hun.

Breakie:Porridge/sunflower seeds topped with natural yogurt

If my boos shows up looking for me, you ain't seen me ok? icon12.gif

Shez, sorry not to have replied yesterday, yeah got special new shoes for a big event this weekend, it only took me 5 years to justify such an expense to myself (find appropriate excuses) and they were paid for with accumulated gift/ saved "stopped smoking" money etc. etc.

And as you can tell I still feel guily as hell but absolutely made up that I did it at last... you can see what the fuss is about HERE

And now I better get my silly self to w**k!

Have a wonderful day everyone icon7.gif

Snowy owl - I work with children with behavioural problems. The common theme to all of them is that parents have not: 1) said no consistently 2) made the children take responsibility for their own actions.

PP - great to see someone else is into the great 'reduced to clears' too - well done on your bargains. I should I have thought of Sainsburys as was in that part of town last night picking up a tv I got through freecycle. I got some in Morrisons - fruit, veg, organic milk and bread - but could do with some meat and cheese.

Need to give dd's room a good clean as its full of wood splinters. I was going to take apart dd's bunks yesterday (which she has painted on with nail varnish and cat has used as scratch post) and take to the skip. I felt they were unfit even for free cycle. On closer inspectin I realised the damage was just to the top bunk. These are the kind that will separate, so I took them apart. I had to use the chisel for the ladder so there are wood splinters everywhere. They could do with a new mattress, so I will have a look for any bank holiday reductions.
