    Morning :D

Feeling a little bunged up today - I suppose after 4 days of being sneezed and coughed on it's not surprising. DS2 is recovering but it was DS1's turn to appear in the middle of the night with a raging temperature. However, as it's his last day of term and they play all day - he didn't want to miss it, so he's dosed up with calpol and OK at the moment :)

Today with WM will be getting some major use. I'm awaiting my free sample of soapnuts but they haven't arrived yet. Also, it hasn't quite decided what to do weather-wise, but hopefully I'll get at least some of it hung out. House needs vac'ing from top to bottom - will enlist DS2's help - and my bathrooms and loos need cleaning. I need to clean mum's house soon, but I don't want to subject her to any bugs the boys have got. I may go over later as I'll have DS1 from tomorrow.

    B: Muesli and green tea
    L: Soup and sandwich
D: Depends what I fancy using up - shepherds pie perhaps?

OK, must get on. Hope everyone has a great day :)

Morning everyone. Didn't manage to get on here yesterday ... kids were using both computers and I had lots of reading to do for w**k so got on with it!

Getting ready for the bank holiday weekend. OH is off til Tuesday and I'm woring from home next week so shouldn't be too frantic. May be going to my Mum's for lunch on Sunday which would be great to not have to cook roast myself and money-saving! although I would be taking pudding ... homemade apple pie and cream I think!

Must get on with some ironing today. had some good washing drying days this week so got loads done ... just hate the ironing.

Not sure what to have for tea. I'll keep an eye on here as you all give me ideas. Saw someone was having Toad in the Hole on Tues and had to have it!!

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all!

Am perfectly happy to be in the office today because my boss has gone on holiday :j :j :j (In fact, so have her boss and her boss's boss, so nobody will notice if I have some quality MSE time today!)

I made a big sausage casserole last night but didn't actually eat it :o cos I got so hungry waiting for it to be ready that I polished off half a banana loaf, then didn't want anything else :o so guess what I'm having with rice for my lunch today?

Ah yes, and I spent my Grand National sweepstake winnings :D Tesco currently have their exceptionally decent Codorniu cava reduced to half price (£4.49 a bottle) and as I always have a few occasions over the summer months which call for a bottle of bubbly, I stocked up on six bottles for the additional 5% discount :D:D Good cava is so much better in my opinion than cheap champagne, and infinitely better value

Off to church later - I love singing our Holy Week services :A For Maundy Thursday we end on a beautiful setting of Psalm 22 arranged by our church organist, while the church is in darkness.

Breakfast - bacon sarnie (yummmmmm, haven't had one since last Wed)
Lunch - sausage casserole and rice
Dinner - most likely also sausage casserole and rice as I will be getting home quite late and won't want to prepare anything from scratch. OR possibly a Wetherspoon's curry (if there's a general consensus among my church choir to go out for dinner after Mass) which I know I can afford because I've agreed with my housemate that we're not buying each other Easter eggs :D

PP - That little Sainsburys/Shell garage can be soooo great. Everything other than the reduced stuff is really overpriced, and often there is no reduced stuff, and also they seem to shut at a slightly different time every night! But every so often I, like your OH, hit the jackpot at around 10pm and have filled my freezer to bursting for a couple of pounds :D And because it's a Sainsbury's Local it seems to be mainly the higher-quality organic/Taste the Difference stuff.

VickyA - as you seem to have had a really good value for money meal in London, would you mind telling us where you ate?

SnowyOwl - "not evil, just can't handle the job and has no social skills" - are you sure we don't work for the same person?????!!!!!

Sorry if I've missed saying hello to anybody, and I'm sure I'll see you later as my boss will very shortly be on a flight across the Atlantic :D:D

But of course! It is called Bistro 1 and the one that we went to (there are 3 of them, apparently but this is the best - according to a friend) is on Beak Street, Soho. £9.90 for 3 courses, or £8.90 for 2 courses. Including wine, coffees and other drinks, we paid £15 each. You have to book though as it was PACKED!
