Afternoon folks. Hope everyone is having a good day.
Still having problems with my computer so am at my mum and dad's using their's.
Not at work today (thank god - had a terrible week) so been catching up on stuff I had to do.
Did a load of washing this morning then went to the supermarket. Always take my mum as well and she likes to make a day of it by taking me for lunch
Went to Lidl and Morrisons and managed to only spend about £20 which included shampoo and deodorant as freezer and cupboards quite full at the moment.
Had a scrummy steak for lunch with cheese, ham and bbq sauce served with chips, onoin rings and peas. Only like steak every now and again but it was a real treat!
Went to the library as well as a book I had ordered was in and they are closed after today until Tuesday so didn't want to leave it any longer. Picked up a book as well that says on the front it can save you £1K a year. So I shall see what that is all about.
I will head home soon and get on with some other housework. Got some of those microfibre cloth things I have been reading about to give them a try. Will see how I get on.
Bye for now0 -

I went to the library to return my books and walked back via BHS. I blame 'my friend' from saturday, who now has me addicted to handbags - cos one just leaped at me as I was walking past. I must sort out and ebay/give away the ones I don't like as I have so many new/nearly new ones. I'm also going to retire my everyday one for a while and use this new one for a bit, until it's summery enough to use those other new ones I bought.
I did "save" 50% though :roftl:0 -
Hiya All
Managed a quick look on here before I go away for the w.e :j
Have a decided Im going to have a really relaxing weekend apart from essential cleaning and cooking as next week I am gonna start gettting my life up straight!! I have said it many times before but feel motivated and full of energy at the moment so am going to make it work.
Targets are - get paperwork up straight and do end of year books.
Get into a real housework routine so dont feel am doing all the time. Write an inventory of freezer and cupboards and aim to clear both before doing any large shops - get menu planning really under control.
Start decluttering the house beginning at my office and also start doing more exercise (put on weight in America and still not lost it)
It does sound like a lot all in one go but am going to break it down into babysteps and one thing Im going to stick with is in future - Im going to get some things done before I come on MSE so can tell you about what ive done rather that what I plan!!!!
Anyway enough about that - hope you all have a Wonderul Easter and make the most of the extra days off (have fingers crossed for nice weather for everyone)0 -
Afternoon
DD is now talking to me and we are currently watching Ice Age together:D
OH has been busy painting fencing panels in back garden. Cant afford new ones so he has bought a tin of special stain for £3 and has done half of it already...looks good. DD has tidied her room and done most of her homework.
Trying to get my head around sorting clothes etc for my sisters tomorrow. Normally take too much so want to be as frugal with clothing as possible. Its only 1 night and will get it all into a holdall. DD has decided shes staying at her Grandmas (she hasnt stayed there for years!) and OH/I will be staying at sisters. Think we are going to leave early (after needle nurse) and may stop off at a Little Chef for breakfast as I have a BOGOF voucher and we can easily share 2 of the big breakfasts between the 3 of us-havent fully decided on this yet though.
Essex-Girl: Its all very daunting at first but once your on top, its pretty easy to keep up. I think the de-cluttering is the hardest but the first and best point to start with....stick anything half decent on ebay if you have time and make some money from it...its also exercise:D Baby steps is the way forward! Enjoy it though.
Better go and finish watching this film. Take care.

Hiya PP, good to know your DD's out of her strop
Well today's been good and frustrating in equal measures. Good because of my boss being away (everybody who's visited our end of the office all day has remarked on how quiet and peaceful it is). Frustrating because I've had no motivation, no focus, and the concentration span of a gnat. Finally finished at 5pm a task I started at 2:30 which should have taken me about an hour, but I just couldn't get my brain into gear
Have achieved one or two pieces of personal admin today at least. Have been locked out of Alliance & Leicester online banking (which is where my stoozing account is) because they've changed their logon process so Egg Money Manager needs me to update my details with them, which I'd forgotten. So I phoned up and got them to post me a new one. I also paid my deposit on the OS Blackpool trip
Essex-girl - I need a drastic de-clutter too (just to be able to see enough of the floor to move freely around the house would be a start  )
Must be off now, as I have to be at a choir rehearsal in an hour in preparation for Mass at 8pm.

MURPHY'S NO MORE PIES CLUB MEMBER #1240 -
Hello all
Had some really good news this morning - got a letter from Seeboard, asking us to REDUCE our monthly payments from £70 to £23!! :j We've been concentrating on reducing our consumption and are now using a third of what we used to, this time last year. Religiously doing the meter readings on the 1st of each month online, has also helped. They sent a fellow round to read the meter - and now we get this reduced bill.Fabulous! That's put £50 back into the cash flow each month, which we could certainly do with.
DH is still wrestling with the computer my neighbour gave to us - we're picking up a box of random computer cables from a Freecycler tomorrow, which hopefully contains a USB cable - which is just what he needs to move it on the next step. It'll be so great when he gets it all together and I inherit his current computer, 'cos mine is driven by hamsters running around in a wheel.
I'm going to have a browse around the slow cooker threads in a minute, to find some tips on cooking a duck in the SC. I've got one defrosting at the moment, ready for action tomorrow. Unfortunately, its got giblets .. ewww! The last time I cooked giblets for the dogs, the place stunk and the dogs left the bits on the floor, uneaten.I shall have to wrap them well and bin 'em, I think.
Onwards and upwards .. haven't done any paid2clicks yet today - I shall have to get busy!
B : was marmite speckly toast (Oat & Linseed h/m bread)
L : was ham sandwich, an avocado and a cupasoup
D : sausage lumps (skinned sausages mixed with sage & onion stuffing mix, then dropped onto baking sheet in balls and cooked in the oven) with chipshop chips. We were celebrating.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

:rotfl: Despite everything im in a really good mood and not gonna let anything get me down... even looking for a new job (already) on jobcentreplus website now cos wanna do something i love and makes me happy. Time to be selfish for once! Im only 20 after all... whole life to have a career to pay the bills...relationships.. and responsibilities. Time to just indulge myself for a bit doing things i wanna which make me happy!
You sound like a completely 'together' person Johanne & to achieve that at 20 is fantastic. Good luck, I hope you find exactly the job you want & a new BF who values you, your ex is the loser not you.
Glad you & your DD have made up PP. I remember only too well the stops & sulks of my daughter when she was growing up but she's an absolute joy nowadays (at 23) & I'm SO proud of her. Unfortunately the poster who said it'll get worse before it gets better is almost certinly right.
Well done on your energy consumption reduction PoshPaws a massive achievement both for your bank balance & the environment.
I've had a good OS day today. I've made 6 pizza bases ready for the party on Saturday, thoroughly cleaned the living room - using microfibre cloths & vinegar of course - done a load of washing using HM washing powder & dried it on the airer. I've also made a veggie curry in the SC for dinner & we had sandwiches made with HM bread for lunch. I feel quite smug.
My halo has slipped a little now because I'm sitting here with a nice glass of wine & I intend to have at least one more this evening - maybe 2. Well, I AM on holiday. :rotfl:0
