Happy Good Friday to one & all.
Can't sleep at the mo, too much going round in brain. Had a bad week so far.
Got back Tues evening after three days away & phoned mum to let her know we were home. She told me she was sitting on floor as she had fallen & couldn't get up. So OH & myselff had to go hairning over to her house, only to find we couldn't get in as she had left the key in the lock. Had to resort to ringing the police, who came & battered the door in. Paramedic arrived & said she was OK even tho she was v.confused. Had to organise the door being secured as they did a really good job on it. Left her for the night as she did'nt want to come to me or us to stay there. OH.then spent most of Wed with as I had arranged for GP to call, who also said there was no problems & black eye would get better on its own. Then coz OH is on nights at the mo I stayed up all night & when he got in at 9am Thurs we went to bed. Rang Mom at 2pm when we woke, only for the phone to be answered by the police as a neighbour had noticed the curtains were still closed. They found her on the floor in front of the fire, she had fallen again & been there since about 8.30am. They took her to hospital as she was hypothermic & non responsive. I have been with her since about 3pm & coz of OH's work (the fact we had workmen here) he couldn't come with me so I had to negoiate a taxi using elbow crutches. OH managed to get to the hosp for about half a n hour before having to go off to work.
I must admit I feel awful about it all & feel as though I have let mom down by not being there for her when she most needed me.
Anyway sorry for the long post, just needed to get it off my chest to someone.Love to save & love a bargain0 -
Awww, Scruffy - don't feel bad. You did what you could. Sometimes its hard to just steamroller over our parents wishes because we're conditioned to do as we're told by them. However, I think its probably come to a time where you need to take the lead and just push on through your Mom's objections and do what you think is best for her. If that means her coming to spend a few days with you guys where you can keep an eye on her and give her a bit of a holiday after her two nasty experiences, then so be it.
I know its far easier said than done, so you have my sympathies and hope you can get something fixed up for her.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Good Fiday everyone!!
Scruffy-Im really sorry to hear that and hopes shes ok soon. Dont feel guilty though.

PP have a lovely time. I hope you get pampered.
Scruffy - hope things are going a bit better today.
I really need to get myself off the computer  . I have set aside today to clean and sort out cupboards in the bedrooms. I also have a big pile of ironing.
DD away for a few days, so no excuse for sitting around chatting.
We have visitors coming for lunch on Sunday -so will need to do cooking and shopping tomorrow.0 -
SnowyOwl wrote:Happy Easter to me!!! Sorry to be so selfish, but the neighbours with the cheeky brat (as referred to in my earlier post) rolled up with a caravan tonight, quickly dumped a load of suitcases in it and drove off into the sunset. Yippee!! Peace and quiet for Easter :j:j:j
However I went out the back earlier and there are three planks loosened from the back fence - I can't say it was that brat as I didn't actually notice them loose yesterday...but I doubt that they loosened themselves....grrrrrr!!!!!!! The builders had been here a while ago and "childproofed" the fence - seemed to have worked. I'll be out there with my hammer tomorrow after w***. Eeek, I said w***...major apologies to those already on Easter holidays!!
Enjoy the peace snowyowl0 -
Good morning all
Scruffy, so sorry to hear about your mum, a difficult time for you.
I am sitting here enjoying the peace...the best time of day for me. The WM is not on yet as with people still asleep there is still washing in various bedrooms, and to be honest, the weather outside at the moment is not actually calling me to hang it on the line. DW went on last night before bed so I just need to empty it, but most importantly of all....
My Bread Maker Is ON
All of you OS'ers here have inspired me to revive my BM from its hiding place in the back of a kitchen cupboard. I now have a loaf of Super Rapid rising away quite happilyBreakfast will be....bread with whatever you want on it!!
I am sitting here with a cup of coffee, just made a small jug, will make larger one when I think OH will appear......mmm is that the shower I hear??? could be sooner rather than later.
Oh well, have a good day everyone, and PP have a great time away, peaceful and restful, with just the right amount of fun added in

Morning everyone.
Aww Scruffy hope things improve but please don't feel bad.
Hope you have a good time away PP - you deserve it.
Well a fairly bright morning here today but it has been raining and looks like it could again. Really wish some good weather would come - I want to get my books off and my sandals on. My toes are crying to get out!!!
Well hubby is off work today. He only gets set holidays off work so he looks forward to holidays more than most. He hates it that I can just take a day off work when I fancy it. We think we will head into Glasgow city centre for a smooch round the shops and have a bit of lunch. He is also off on Monday but I opted to work as I get a day's holiday back for it.
Trying to find something for my mother-in-law's 50th birthday thats on Thursday but totally struggling. Usually I am good at gift buying but I am stuck so far.
Well gotta go as hoping to get away early before the shops get busy and getting the evil eye from he who must be obeyed as I am still sitting about in my dressing gown with wet hair.
Have a great Good Friday.
Bye for now.0 -

Just a flying post from me. I'm off for the weekend fairly soon. We just need to drop the cats off at the cattery first and do a quick tidy round.
Wanted to say have a relaxing weekend everyone. Do something fun.
Hugs to you scruffy. That sounds tough.

Morning all :hello:
Scruffy - so sorry to hear about your mum. Don't worry about pouring your heart out; I do it frequently. That's what we're all here for.
The PP family - have a wonderful time!
:hello: Hello to everyone else!
OH seems to be in a mega-grump. Don't know what's wrong with him as he's still in bed, but I'm up! The washing that I did overnight is now drying outside and a second load is in the WM. Got some ironing to do, but I can tell that this is going to be a day of ironing and washing. Joy!
I had my hair cut yesterday. Not very exciting, I know, but I feel so much better for it. I have really thick hair which is a right b***er to dry and do anything with. He's thinned it out so it's alot more managable.
Tomorrow we're going camping with friends to the Peak District. It'll be the first time that I've ever spent it away from my familyAnyway, later today I'll hopefully be making a bolognese sauce for supper tomorrow night. I've just got to hear back from them as to whether they want bolognese or chilli.
Just for info:
b: branflakes and a cuppa
l : chickpea salad (possibly!)
d: steamed salmon, white wine cream sauce (out of a packet), potatoes and veggies
Take care all. I'll have to carry on with the ironing.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
