Well done Bargain Rzl, it's always lovely to get a little bit of surprise extra money - enjoy it. Well done on finding the matching wine glasses too, I like it when things like that happen. They say good things come in threes so maybe you're gonna get another pleasant surprise soon?
Cheers Snowy! I was hoping for the lottery but I didn't get one single number :D

After a yum but filling risotto and part of a still-warm banana loaf, I'm very sleepy now so am off to bed - zzzzzzzzzz.....

Shez - hoping today is a positively focused day of stressfree living :D

powie69 - wishing you a stressfree day too! (Personally, I think I might have been tempted to answer him with, "That's ok, I didn't want a banana that was tainted by your dirty fingers either!" :p )

smokey112 - as the weather is forecast to be good today, hope you're as successful with your darks today :):D

skystar - :T Fantastic news on DH's job front plus your change in hours! :T :T Delighted your dss's 10th was a successful one and he enjoyed himself :D

I can empathise with the birthday groupings so close together - nightmare!! The way we get around that is to plan, budget and purchase as much as possible in advance. Best of luck :D

louB - hoping you have slept soundly after your traumatic day yesterday. What a true gentleman to put a protective arm around you!! Hopefully, you won't be subjected to anything like that again. :(

Bargain - Congratulations on your win :j :j :j As you rightly say, doesn't matter how much, it's better than nothing!

Commiserations to those who were not so lucky this time.

elona - :T Congratulations on your sales. Here's to many more :T :D

ronankfan - hope those anti-b's kick in soon so you will be feeling better.

Jo - hope you have fun at your self defence class!!!! :D:D:D I've done some unarmed defence training and it can actually be quite a giggle, but also incredibly confidence building.

Pooky - hope your surprise meal was wonderful and jimjams were the right attire ;):D

Prudent - what a great deal on your dyson :T :T :T Have fun at the Glasgow Vitality Show

Today I hope to be more productive in my moneysaving and especially my OS endeavours but before I can move forward and do that, I feel I need to put the record straight; others have had their say and now I hope to have mine.

Contrary to recent posts and good old fashioned rumour mongering and tittle-tattle, I'd like to confirm I have one user name and that is: Queenie.

I have too much respect for Martin, the site rules and the ethos of the website to play games of employing multiple personalties. (Something I hadn't even heard of before MSE although to some members it would seem commonplace).

My sympathies go to those who have been falsely accused of being me under a different user name and treated in a manner which is fundamentally against forum policy. I hope it doesn't deter them from posting, or recommending the site to their friends and family.

Equally, I hope anyone and everyone else who read some of those posts on this free public forum have not been put off becoming involved in the Old Style community of MSE or indeed MSE on the whole!!

On that note, I shall retire, wishing you all a super moneysaving old style kind of Sunday

  • Morning Queenie!

Gosh, I didn't realise how late it was - I'll have to go for a snooze, especially since I want to get up early to have a good MSE O/S day!

Planning to tidy and clean my house from side to side (just on one floor so saying side to side is like top to bottom!) and go for a cheap shop - only need a couple of bits and pieces.

    Brekkie:- porridge and honey
    Lunch:- Ham sandwich
    Tea:- ??

Have just been away for a couple of days and eaten so much that I can't really think about food and I am hoping for a healthy few days!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone - I haven't caught up with everyone's news but hopefully everyone is well and hugs to anyone who needs one.

    Morning everyone!!

It's a chilly one here today, no frost but the house is blummin cold! I've turned the heating on (I had in an MSE way turned it right off a few weeks ago).

Have just had brekkie...a concoction of oats, bran, sunflower seeds and dried fruit with skimmed milk...yummy! I have no idea what I am going to have later, but whatever it is, it is currently in my cupboards or freezer as I am not going to the shops today.

Queenie....there is only one Queenie....I knew that!! Why would anybody want to be somebody other than themselves anyway? Sounds like there has been a bit of malarky going on which I haven't been party to.

Is today the day I finally get orf my a*se and do some exercise? Hmmmm, dunno!! Some of you are probably yelling at your pc..."Go for a walk NOW!!". Urm, no... OK I can't sleep, but I ain't that bored!

I'm going to go back to bed and read and listen to Radio 2. Does anybody else ever listen to the bloke who's on before Aled Jones on a Sunday morning on Radio 2? He's got to be the worst dj I've ever, ever heard. Big apologies if you're his son/daughter, or married to him or somehow related to him, and maybe it's just me, but sometimes I find he is terribly rude to people who call in.

I can't think of a single other thing to tell you so I'm off back to bed and to my newspaper, and to Mr Rude on the Radio.

    Bye

  • Good Moring everyone

Sorry to hear you cant sleep Snowy owl, I'm having that problem at the moment too, bad back in my case, bed just isnt doing it for me at the moment.

I was also saddend to read Queenies post. As a newbie to OS I love this board, I have been lurking for some months now, picking up everyone good advice. But reading something like that can be off putting. I'm sure you know who your 'real' friends are, and that like you said its just "good old fashioned rumour mongering and tittle-tattle". I might just go back to lurking around. I hope I havent offended anyone, which I dont want to, but as a newbie, I hope that who ever has done this thinks twice in future. You keep up the good work Queenie, and its my guess that who ever says you have more than 1 alias is giving out cracking advice, just like you do. Keep up the good work.

Rant over with now! Like I said, I dont want to offend anyone, so please dont be mad at me.

hope everyone has a really good day and smiles all day

    Julie
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p

:p would like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing :o

Have got a leg of lamb out for dinner....BTW there half price in Asda ATM if anyones interested-OH bought a few smallish joints and we have frozen them for later dates.
