    Me again

We got back from the farmers' market laden with veggies that I was going to get from Tesco, but obviously far better to get it from nice, cheery stall holders.:) OH got a nice loaf of oliver bread that we'll have later for supper with our spag bol. Got a yummy looking wild salmon quiche for lunch. Ok, so it was an impulse buy  but it looks so tasty................... No? I'm hanging my head in OS shame, ready for my public flogging! :(:D

Need to make some banana muffins at some stage. I've got plenty of bananas that need using up. Mmmmmmmmmmm................

    Afternoon everyone.

Had a lie in till 9:30 this morning after my nice evening out. We only went out till 9, but i felt quite tired. I had bad morning sickness again yesterday, but felt much better once i had eaten my curry. :j I couldn't eat as much as i normally do when we go there. We haven't been for 14 months, so i have obviously got used to eating a lot less.

So far today, DH has had a good clean of the kitchen sides, i put a load in the WM, and then we took a walk to the local somerfield to get a few bits and managed to spend £25. It is so expensive that shop. I don't know how some folks manage to get all their shopping from there. But, as DH pointed out, if we had gone to the ASDA we probably would have spent double, so really we are a bit better off. Plus, i had a bit of a walk to make up for all the food i am eating to combat the sicky feeling.

We have a DVD rental for this evening, and i'm planning on a pasta with salmon meal. DH is currently outside playing at car maintenance, and will hopefully run the lawnmower round. I am trying to pack up some of the living room again so we can start doing some of the redecoration, but i can imagine it taking months. ;) Well it is a living/dining room.

Happy birthday to you DD PP.

Welcome back FF. Glad you enjoyed the hols.

I'd have bought that quiche as well vicky, although pastry doesn't help you fit in a wedding dress, ;) says me who only has to look at something to put on weight.

Enjoy your day off anyone not at w**k.

    Michelle, xx

    Hi again

Back again - having a thoroughly satisfactory day!

Bit the bullet and took FIVE pairs of shoes into the cobblers. Two needed new soles and heels, two just needed new heels, and on the other it's just a case of tidying them up - gluing the sole where it's come away from the toe (tripped over a paving stone  ) and gluing back some ragged bits of the heel covering. Total damage will be £29.40  and I have to go and pick them up later.

Then popped into Somerfield for my newspaper, and got a bag of manky bananas for 30p, so I feel a banana loaf coming on  :D

But best of all I popped into a nearby charity shop, where I first found two good-quality large airtight plastic food tubs (about 2.5 litres each I think) - 25p each - and a REAL find, a pair of wine glasses in a clouded glass design with coloured dots. The reason this was such a find was not because I needed wine glasses - I don't - but because they match my champagne flutes which I've had for years :D:D:D They were in slightly "used" condition, and the lady sold them to me for £1 the pair :j :j :j

I'm feeling very spaced out and Saturdayish, as if I just need to rest all day. But I'm going to get myself a spot of lunch and then pop out again as it's such a beautiful day. I think I fancy mushroom risotto for my dinner, so I might go down to the Co-op which despite being expensive, is good for certain things including almost always having shiitake and oyster mushrooms reduced to half price :D Then I can collect all my shoes and be back home in time for the National.

    Bye

just a quick post before the National, on which I have £2 in the work sweep. went to farmers market this morning & spent £2 on chocolate crepe for DS, £3.50 on 11month old traditional cheddar & 40p on 2 (yes only 2) organic carrots! this why I don't go there very often! it just too expensive, i even had to call into tesco for soup veg, as market didn't have any. oh well, veg soup for dinner then...

Hi everybody, hope you are all have a good afternoon.

Iv'e just come back from working my last o/t saturday at work, thank goodness! The money will be lovely when I get it, but the hours..

I also had had a really horrible experience on the bus home this afternoon, a guy who was sat in the seat behind me lit a ciggarette, ( which seems to happen on evey journey now) and was told by an older guy to put it out..anyway, talking turned to shouting and that then turned into punching and I thought I was going to get hit! Me and the man I was sat next too had to stand up and literally lean over onto the seat infront as these two men were trying to kill each other, the nice man actually put his arm around me incase these men got any closer to me. I know its sad, but when I got off the bus I actually burst into tears :o I think It was the shock.

Any hoo, I'm home now, and planning an afternoon of baking and fingers crossed my horse I got in the office sweep wins the G/National!

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon, PP- hope the party was a success!

LouB - it's terrifying when people get into fights around you on public transport. I've been in that situation quite a few times :grouphug:

Michelle - not sure how much the sweepstake's won me, but it's definitely going in the "treats budget" (current balance nil) rather than savings! I would imagine it will go towards replenishing my wine rack which is looking decidedly bare and my official wine budget doesn't currently have enough in it for a case

Ticklemouse - I think I'll be doing your version of slow-cooked chicken tomorrow - as I had a bit more cash left this week than anticipated I succumbed to the Tesco's chicken deal, and have promised to cook one for housemate tomorrow.

don't blame you for wanting the wine. Did you all pay in a £1? With 40 horses i'd imagine that you might have won £40. Or keep my fingers crossed for you that is the case. Well done anyway. It's nice to have a bit of luck :o
