Woohoo!! Congratulations, Bargain Rzl.
I was thinking of you every time the horse's name was mentioned - and when he hit the front and stayed there, well I was cheering for you. Hope he netted you a nice little haul!
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Congratulations, Bargain Rzl!!planing for the future, living for today0

Yeah but I think in past years they divide the stakes up between the first three horses. So I reckon it's more likely to be something like £25, with £10 and £5 going to the second and third places
We shall wait and see - whatever it is it's better than nothing!Operation Get in Shape

Havn't posted for ages. Had a terrible sickness bug that as soon as cleared got flu then a kidney infection. The latest drama has been that the bathroom I got fitted 4 months ago has a series of problems which I have been trying to get fixed but to no avail. Think I will have to take legal action.
Anyway the accumulation of all this has meant time to read but not much time to post.
The good news is since I was last here my hubby has returned to work. His work laid off most of the staff the week before Christmas but he was having trouble trying to find something else. Its now became clear his work only had the lay offs as the boss needed to save money from paying wages to pay his bills. Now someone else has been put in charge and all staff have been reinstated and things are running smoothly :T
I have also changed my hours at work so now I only work M, T, W 8:30 - 5:30 and Sat 8-1. This means an extra day off during the week for me which means I can get more stuff done in the house and stay less stressed.
Not done much today after work as its all been done. Nice just to chill out.
It was my stepson's 10th birthday yesterday so quite a hectic day what with visitors and then going bowling and for dinner. Spent way too much than what we should have but hey its done now. Also have mother-in-law's 50th in 2 weeks and hubbys 30th in May. That was really bad planning in that family for birthdays. They will always have their "big" birthdays close together. Just had a thought in 20 years there will be a 30th, 70th and 50th within a month!!! Better start saving now!!!
Saturday's are never set in stone when it comes to dinner. Have some leftover pasta and pizza in the fridge so probably have that.
Have a nice night everyone.0 -

Evening all
DD's were dropped at my parents this morning for their 4 night break, DH's parents are collecting them on Wednesday morning, taking them out for the day and then have booked a hotel for the night, dinner out and then taking them off to France for the day on Thursday.......they'll be spoilt rotton, but that's what grandparents are for!(I will miss them terribly - honest)
DH and I had a wander round the shops - got him a new suit and a few new shirts for work (primark suits are great when you're on a budget - jacket £25 and trousers £10 a pair). On the way back we nipped into a friends to borrow her carpet cleaner (Can you guess what I'm doing next week???)
I've been out and cut the grass whilst DH has been doing secret things in the kitchen, he's cooking tonight - I've no idea what we've got - he's bought the lot secretly and just told me to be at the table for 8pm.....dressed to feel comfy (jim jams then)
Need to pop to get some wood in the morning and a busy day doing some household bits that we keep putting off.......clearing gutters, sticking wall paper etc....oh the fun we have!
Hope you all have a wonderous weekend."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
