Yes, I know I can do much of that on the computer, but I need something that prevents me from turning the computer on some days!!! :rotfl:
Dobie - your cycle ride sounds fun! (Haven't read yesterday's posts yet, so I'm assuming from your description that it is a 'cylce' ride)
.
I have a weakness for stationery too. I can never resist collecting the free pen or pencil & paper if I go to a meeting & I have to avoid going into WH Smiths. Using the computer is just not as satisfying somehow as writing things in a book, I have some notebooks that I don't really have a use for, I just like to keep them. I'm a bit of a dinosaur really.
Yes it was a cycle ride, it's the only exercise I've ever found that I've stuck to for more than a week or so. We have a cycle tour every year so I'm getting in training for our tour of the Dingle peninsula in Ireland in the summer with DH & some friends.
I had some good news today, DS1 who (as I've mentioned before) has some mental health problems has been offered a new job. It's one he really wanted so he's excited & happy for the first time in ages. I just hope it continues for a bit, he needs to feel things are going his way for a change. He's coming up for 30 but you still worry no matter how old they are.0 -
Hope everyone has had/is having a good day :j
(((((hugs))))) to MATH and Mrs MATH and all the MATHlettes.
I'm currently sat here with a glass of wine enjoying a surf whilst DH is watching the footie - can't make his mind up between Barca and Arsenal so he's flicking between the 2 :rotfl:

Good Evening
Not had an os day at all really and ironing is still there but plan to get up early and attack it.
Went to see Pink Panther (orange wed) was good but you cant compare it to the originals. Had voucher for TGI after but can see why they need to give vouchers out! It was rubbish - wont be bothering again.
Re the Stationery thing - ive got it too - my oh thinks Im very strange when I get very excited about a visit to Staples (love it) but I really like the sound of your notebooks Queenie - they would really help me in my new budget/meal planning system - I will have to keep a look out.
Hugs to Math and your family - hope you all get through this ok.
Well must go-wanna be in bed by ten so can get up early & iron - will let you know if I actually do it0 -
My thoughts are with all of you that are going through a difficult time at the moment. I wish you all the strength to work though your problems and send you all a huge hug. I know that I do not post on here a regularly as others but I like to feel that I am part of the OS group and that I am able to say that I wish you all well
Phew I haven't posted in a few days. I have spent so much I must have been feeling REALLY guilty!!!!
OH has had yesterday and today off work and we really spent a fourtune!! We had a day put yesterday, had buy one get one half price pizza hut with a drink each and a salad to share. The we had sweets and ice cream at the cinema and watched a film, it was bargain tuesday though! I think we spent about £30. Well it doesn't sound like that much but it has really cleaned us out! We had lunch with MIL today and she paid so that was a bit of luck, though I did buy myself a bit a cake for £1.80!
I took my neice out on Monday and got her hair cut, just £5 but then we had lunch and she had a few bits in the shops and then spent a happy hour at the costal park. I guess I spent £20 but it all adds up!
We also bought tickets to the Reading festival in August, we has planned to spend this money and it will be our summer holiday. It cost just over £300 for both of us which is fine for 5 nights away but it left us a little short now. We have not been able to put any money from my wages into our ISA this month which is so annoying.
I am not feeling too down about it all I am just a bit weirded out that I have left myself with nothing at all. This will be a cheap easter holidays
Breakfast was cereal
Lunch was on MIL
Dinner was left over pizza that we bought home from pizza hut and chips and dips, yum!

Morning everyone!
Ooo it's nearly the weekend...hurrah! I know, wishing my life away, but I really do wish I didn't have to go to that place called w-o-r-k (apologies for the use of a four letter word so early in the day!).
I was naughty yesterday and didn't go to college. I actually jumped into bed at about 6.00 pm as I was wrecked and had a snooze. I was wrecked because in the wee small hours of Tuesday morning I woke up in a bit of a panic because I needed to read a particular book for my English course and I really really had to read it at 2.00 am even though it was a workday night. Hmmmm, stressed, moi??
OS today - I will congratulate myself if I get home at lunchtime and make myself a sandwich. I went to a sandwich bar twice this week, and they are almost a tenner richer because of me. That is a scandelous waste of money! I have been having trouble getting my act together for a wee while now, must try harder. It's not exactly difficult to slap two bits of bread together with a slice of ham or something stuck in between, yet I have somehow managed to persuade myself it is.
Tonight I shall do some housework. Yes, Old Style has slipped in the housework territory as well. I usually manage a bit of putting away and wiping down as I go along, but this too has been beyond my capabilities. Once I get started I'll hopefully keep going for at least an hour. My downfall is often seeing my laptop and logging on just to read my emails, then end up on MSE for hours on end. Useless woman..
Need to get more kip...must put that textbook well away from my bed as I have been reading bits of it rather than turning the light off and sleeping.
Hope people's GP appointment problems from yesterday are getting resolved. I used to have to put up with similar, but my new GP practice is much better - I think it's because its a sparsely populated area with lots of GPs, so better for everyone including the GPs themselves.
See you all later.

Good morning SnowyOwl, Good morning everyone :hello:
Woke up early .. but there again I went to be early. I was fast asleep by 9 pm. Now I'm sat here with my cup of peppermint tea and I have plenty of time to read MSE
Working from home today, though I do have to drop off DD2 at work and then come home. I find it much better to get complex thinking jobs done at the kitchen table with a cup of tea (as opposed to a busy open plan office).
Just taken a batch of yoghurt out of the yoghurt maker (has been on overnight)
Breakfast: Oats, fruit and HM yoghurt, with a glass of orange juice
Lunch: probably HM soup
Dinner: still thinking about it ... probably pork chop, jacket potato and veggies.Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Good Morning  . I don't usually post here but I've woken early and can't get back to sleep cos of all the birds twittering. wood-pigeons have nested in our redundant chimney  , so I'm also sat her with a coffee browsing MSE.
I'm at a workplacement today as part of my college course. Miss spendless is going to nursery and DH is off work to look after Master Spendless as it is easter hols here. Hubby has told me he's going to be very organised and show me how housework should be done  .
Already made my sandwiches for work. I'll see what hubby makes for tea0 -
Morning Everyone
Hope your all well. My nurse will be here at 7 for me jabs:eek: Have 2 hospital appointments today and is going to be a made day. DD is coming with us so must take some stuff for her to do so she's not too bored:rolleyes:
OH has put the WM, emptied the DW and cleaned the toilet. SIL did all the fiddly bits yesterday and the ironing so am rateful for that. Washed our Bedspread yesterday and dried lovely on the line.
Got some chicken breasts out the freezer last night to do a Chicken Chausseur in the SC, so OH will do that in a while and we can in between appointments this and mashed spud...yummy.
Breakie:Bacon/Egg Sarnie
Lunch:Chicken Chausseur and Mash
Dinner:Chicken Chausseur or Cheese on toast
Have a great day and hope Queenie you get a doctors appointment today.
HUgs to all.

Good morning all
Another lovely day here today, unfortunately I have to work so will be looking at it through a window
Got up early to put WM on as I am doing 2 loads for SIL whose machine (20 years old......yes 20!!) has finally given up the ghost and even though they went shopping for one yesterday it will not arrive until Tuesday  So I came to the rescue.........and told her that I am storing up the Brownie Points for a rainy day :rotfl:
Have a good one!
