Queenie - I think I'd be inclined to go and sit at the Dr's tomorrow, explain the situation of the meds to the receptionist and say you'll sit and wait until they can squeeze you in....normally scares them :D

Our Dr is much the same, luckily the practice nurse is able to do prescriptions etc now and it much easier to get to see.....We've also got a walk in clinic at the local hospital, it's supposedly emergancies only but if you can't get a Dr's appointment you're told to go to the clinic.....normally get seen a damn site quicker too.

Well - shed is tidy, I've half strimmed the garden, hacked a few bushes back, empited the sandpit and washed all the garden toys/slides/swings down.....it was lovely in the sun, but it's turned cloudy and nippy again now.

Half an hours ironing to do infront of a film and then I've been told that it's Disney Trivial Persuit all afternoon.....lucky, lucky me!

    Hello again

Ow, ow, owwwww - sorry - just burnt my mouth on an over hot mushroom - am eating the last portion of cottage pie from the fridge. :D

Well, chimbley-sweep (as MIL calls them) has been and will come back next week to fit 4 bird guards to the pots. I know he didn't push to have all four done, but if all it achieves is moving them from one pot to the other, then It'll cost more in the long run. also, the pot with the live gas fire has an 'illegal' top on it, so at least that will be removed. Best speak to the neighbours in case they want their pots doing at same time - no point paying for him to put his ladders up twice :) Either way - it's best part of £200  However, he's a local family firm and I'd rather give my money to him than a big chain (esp the ones who sound like independants!!)

My new microwave arrived so I'm off to unpack it in a bit. How exciting :j :j Whoops - haven't started saus casserole so best get on and do that - will give it a head start by part grilling sausages first I think.

Rzl - if it's the cappucino effect you're after, why don't ya make your coffee with part warm milk, but don't fill the flask to the top. Then just before you pour, shake your flask madly to create bubbles. Bit of dried hot choc over the top and Robert is your Mother's brother :rotfl: (Has anyone got images of her singing some aria madly shaking a thermos? :D)

    Hi
Was about to say Good Morning but then realised what the time is!!!!!
Beautiful but v.cold day here. Yesterday OH took 2 pressurised beer barrels to a charity shop to help clear some "junk" out only to be told no-one wants beer barrels, so had to bring them home again. Have now got to think of something else to do with them as don't want to take them to the dump (have only been used once - OH no longer has the time or inclination to use them).
Not having a good day, very wobbly on legs & elbow crutches ( look like a drunken baby giraffe). Need to go up to bathroom but right now it looks a long way away :rotfl:
Also another convert to microfibre cloths, OH bought one from Tesco with the weekly shop. Has made the lovely new chrome & glass shower cubicle look good. Had run out of white vinegar last week, so used some of the bottle of Smirnoff Black label vodka that was in cupboard, did a good job (we didn't buy - prezzie - tried it but don't like) so at least the microfibre cloth is cheaper. Very intersting in the shower with the fumes of the alcohol
Love to save & love a bargain

i noticed at ASDA last week that you can buy microfibre undies. It made me chuckle. I had visions of being able to do a little wipe of the bathroom. :rotfl:

They were £1 per knickers, so i wonder if its cheaper than buying the cloths?

Freeycycle them if you have a local group, people will snap your hands off. As they are over £10 each to buy.

My husband brews his own beer. The set up costs and the first kit was about £40. But of course each time you use them it gets less and less.

And the last kit my husband was given as a birthday presents. And it does 40 pints everytime. And it does not take long and he loves the end result. Cheap beer.

And means he can save his money for other hobbies of his.

Anyway, gonna go and have a snooze, me pain killers have kicked in:eek:

Phew! Is it Wednesday already? I must be having one of those runaround weeks again LOL. I got two paid2click cheques this morning so I'm off to stock up on goodies for the weekend when we go to the coast. The MATHLETTS and me will be down there for two weeks and Mrs MATH will join us Maundy Thursday and stop a week.

Mrs MATH is reducing her jobsearch activities beacuse her mum has been diagnosed with cancer and needs to undergo a lengthy operation and treatment, so we need to concentrate our efforts there. We wnet through similar with my Dad a few years ago but the prognosis was better with him and although he has bad depression and needs a lot of emotional and physical support he's doing ok. Things don't look so good for MIL tho so we can make any plans at the mo and just have to pull togehter and muddle through as best we can.

I sent off my job app yesterday for an Admin job at one of the local colleges in the evenings so I'm hoping I have some good fortune there. It's Monday - Thursday nights so I wouldn't need to pay for childcare and it won't interfere with me bobbying off to the coast on Friday afternoons. It would be great to get a bit of extra cash in. We had to cancel the MATHLETTS gymnastics last week cos I can't afford next terms fees. They were really dissapointed but tried not to show it:A although I think I have hatched a cunning plan to swing it for two of them to be able to do it for free after August so we will see. *MATH strokes his chin and laughs like Mutley.

Off to do the school run in a mo - have a good day one and all

    Math,

Sorry to hear about your MIL. I am sure like many others MSE's my thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Fingers crossed on the job front. Shall we have a race to see who gets a job first me or you ;)

I need to get one as husbands hours have been reduced my 25% so he loosing one week out of four wages

Fingers crossed he gets a new job quickly.

Right I am off a snooze. Starting to feel better already even though I have only taken one tablet :rotfl: I know it is all in the head.
