MATH - thanks for the pm's. I'm not ignoring you and will reply as soon as I get a chance. Started a reply to the first one you sent 3 times, but always got called away :D

My thoughts are with you, Mrs MATH and the Mathletts. It's a horrible time and there's not much I can say to help other than to repeat that we are always here for some virtual support. Keep well and look after each other - I'm sure the job thing will come good soon.

    Hi Everyone,
Had a reasonable day, had my review at work. Was not looking forward to it, but had prepared well beforehand and (hopefully) knocked the socks off my boss. Why is it so difficult to blow your own trumpet? I think it must be a British thing. I have told her I am fantastic, so hopefully now she thinks Im at least OK :p . (Time will tell)
So now I am happy that it is over and done with. :j
Tomorrow DD1 is at a disco after school and DD2 is going to her friends for tea, so I have decided to go shopping. Actually its a spying mission, I have located a Lidl on my journey home from work, so I am going in to have a look. I usually do my shopping at Aldi but have been a bit fed up lately, I dont know if its all the Aldi stores, but mine is running down its usual supplies, store manager just says that the stock has been ordered but not sent. They are going to be doing twice weekly specials soon, so I wondered if this is the reason why? They are trying to make more space for this, maybe. I am fed up of having to spend more money to buy things from Sainsburys that Aldi are out of. I have never been to Lidl before so Im going in tomorrow and hopefully they will have a bit more choice, I may swap to them from Aldi.

Reading the thread about sweet potatoes, I made sweet potato "healthy" chips for DD's yesterday. They had not had them before, both DD's and OH turned green at the mere sight of them, I was the only one who liked them. I had sweet potato mash and I can truly say it was absolutely delish and Im now hooked. Tonights tea is a chinese, Aldi stir fry beef, (yummy and soft) with Aldi stir fry sauce (beef canton) veg and rice. (May sneak in some more sweet potato, OH may not notice - honestly why are men like children?) Bargain Rzl, you stay single girl! (Unless PP will share her OH, or maybe MATH or Squeaky will become available!)
MATH - lots of love to you and Mrs MATH, although the money situation may be dire, family are always more important. Sending my prayers for your MIL.

All has gone very quiet upstairs with DD's, its bound to be the lull before the storm. Id better investigate.

BTW - Queenie, you are unlucky with your doctors. Mine operate an open surgery so you can just turn up and wait, mornings and evenings, so I am very lucky. (Not so lucky for the other patients when DD's have turned up and waited complete with spots or sick-bowl, in the past! Its amazing how fast they have fitted us in!) However I would be tempted to stage a sit in if I was you as mentioned by someone else, they would be so sick of the sight of me they would give me an appointment to get rid of me!

Good afternoon to everyone! It's so nice to read about all of you, and I am trying to join in and keep up! Hope that everyone has had a good day and that you all have a lovely evening.

Today we built tunnels and mazes, then made various things from larges boxes I brought home from work last night - great fun, now the children want to keep the boxes in the sitting room!

We took the dog out for a nice walk, I walked, children cycled. Lovely sunshine, and nice and warm so long as we kept moving! Then we fed a neighbour's orphan lambs, and made the rice crispie cakes the dd3 has been desparate to make on her own since she made them at school the other day! Have just had one and they are yummy, can't believe that we do so much cooking and yet haven't made these for ages!

Off now to dish up stew made yesterday in SC, and then get ready for work tonight, see everyone tomorrow!

    :hello: Gooooood Morning!! :hello:

This morning, for the 3rd time I'm on the telephone lottery to get an appointment with the GP!! Each morning, I start phoning; don't get through for 40mins only to be told all appointments have gone. I believe it was Ivyleaf who mentioned using ringback in her daily post Monday (great tip, thankyou :) ) tried that, but our surgery number isn't included on the ringback scheme

Thanks Queenie, but I'm afraid it wasn't me - good tip though! ;)

Haven't read much of the thread yet - hope to catch up later.

I left the house this morning before the builders arrived to do the bathroom, so I was dreading the state of the house when I got home...............actually it's not too bad. I was quite impressed with his euphemistic description of "there's a bit more plaster work to do than I first thought" when what he really meant to say was "There's actually no plaster left on any of the walls". Ho hum

I'm having chicken souvlaki & greek salad for tea, OH say he "doesn't fancy it" so he can make his own when he gets in :D

I think I must be the only person in the world who likes their GP appt system - there isn't one! It's a turn up & wait jobbie, but if you get there for 8.45 you're usually first in. They still don't answer the phone if you try to ring tho..................

I am so sorry to hear about your mil - I really hope things are not as bad as they sound.

I would say that at least nothing else can happen but that might be tempting fate.

We will of be thinking of you and hoping for the best.

    Evening all,

It's been a beautifully sunny (if chilly) day here today in Shropshire.

    OS wise, not a lot.
Been out with dd to M&T group, then to a friends for lunch and play. Went to the park this afternoon and whilst the kids climbed / slid / see-sawed ... I had a swing! Haven't done it in years .... most excellent fun! (Doesn't take much, does it!)

This morning I got the Flymo out for the 1st time this year ... and possibly for the last time ... it went "crack" and black smoke came out of it!! DH to take a look this evening, if he ever comes home!

Right, time to go shove some washing in the machine. MIL arrives Friday .. house looks like hell ... and then it's off on hols on Sat for a week (complete with MIL and 12 other members of DH's family) ... I need vodka!!!

Learning something new every day! I now know the green circle in the bottom left corner means the person is online so hello elona,Zed42 & Learningtosave!

Like you, I have also got MATH & PP in my thoughts along with all the others trying to get a doctors appt. next week I.m off work & intend to take my son (11y) for a review - he has a mole on his back which would be "wipped off" (doctors words not mine!) if he was a adult, as a precution....
