Hello everyone :hello:
Have got my backside into gear somewhat this morning and the kids bedding is already in the WM. It's a rainy sort of day here (a 'soft' day) Need to go to Aldi's this morning to get some essentials and also I think their special is cycling gear - need some of those 'trendy' specs because it's hard to see when you've tears streaming down your face from the wind
Will have to make DS2 an easter bonnet this afternoon, so best check on the supplies of craft stuff before I do go out as will have to go into town for that. If the worst comes to the worst, I have yellow and cream paper and a strip shredder, so that's the nest sorted :rotfl: Cheers for the ideas tho' MATH
BM needs to go on today, will have to see if DW needs putting on and a general vac round is in order. I must clean DS1's bedroom windows/landing window as kids think it's great fun to bang on the window and wave at passing kids after school - usually when they are all eating carrots and cucumber.I know it will be bad again tonight - but they are horrendous after yesterday.
Ok - need to do some online banking and rearrange bits - had a very heavy expenditure week so far (all unexpected)
Hope you all have a good day and those in need get an appt at the Drs. Hope all goes well again for you too PP.

Morning All
have read all of todays posts and yesterdays but theyve all gone in one ear ( or eye ) and out of the other -having real problems with my concentration today - so ill just say i hope youre all well and that all doctors/hospital appointments, days at work, college etc go ok.
I have been up since 5 am and have done nothing - am fidgity and on edge because of what my day holds in store for me. I need to just get my nerve up and go do it now so it doesnt ruin the rest of the day - but - im stalling lol
ok - so what is it that i have to do thats making me such a wreck? this sounds so silly but ...
for the last three weeks i have heard something running about up in the attic at night. I am not scared of mice or rats or birds or squirrels ( though i do hope very much its not a rat ). BUT we have owned this house for 25 years and in that time noone has ever been up there. the hatch to the attic has never been opened.
i feel like i am going tp be entering some twighlight zone or find something gorey and horrible! or that freddy kruger is going to jump down on me when i push the hatch up. ( yes too many horror books and scarey movies and a way too vivid imagination )
see!! told you it was silly!
now why cant i go up there beliveing im going to find an attic full of valuable treasure and antiques! :T0 -
I need to go to the post office later as I listed myself as a seller of books on Amazon yesterday and so far I have sold three books! Quite excited!
Must deal with some paperwork and then go to York for my new glasses and pick up a few bits and pieces.
Good luck to everyone with doctors etc."This site is addictive!"

Morning everyone
Quiet day here today and off to a friends for coffee this afternoon and swimming for the children tonight. Did my last Brownie session last night and they had thrown me a party and presented me with a bouquet of flowers which was very nice. All the children are back at school today leaving me nursing a sore throat and sore eyes (think i have got the conjunctivitus now!!!)and i only got 3 hours sleep so i am feeling a bit low today but hopefully will catch on the sleep tonight.
Hugs to anyone who needs them

Morning everyone.
I'm being a lazy mare this morning. DH has been a star and cleaned/hoovered the kitchen and living room before he left for work, and put the recycling in the garage. The advantage of him going a bit later than normal.
I have managed to put a load in the WM, put last nights dishes away and get some mince out of the freezer for tonight.
I was quite organised yesterday and managed to book in all the appointments i need with midwife, councellor, and dr for the next visit, plus ring the hospital to rearrange next scan so DH can come too. I'm glad he is taking an interest.
Today, my plan is:
1) go up to hospital for my speech therapy
2) call in at friends on way home to show scan picture and get her to sign some passport pictures for my nephew
3) pop to parents house to drop off said passport stuff, and pick up some cards/presents as its my birthday tomorrow.
4) come home to collect cat and then take to the vet for follow up appointment. Little thing is fine now, but i think i'll double check that fact.
5) write a list of jobs to try and get done before i go away for the Easter weekend.
6) cook chilli for tea. Pamper husband a bit as he is a star
Good luck with your hospital appointments today PP. Hopefully there will be no mention of you staying in again.
MATH - big hugs. I'm very sorry about your MIL. Everything seems to be happening at once for you, but i guess that is always the way. A strong family is the best way to tackle it.
snowy owl - i always split the working week into 'get ups' so when i have got up on Thursday, there is only 1 more get up to go to the weekend. Psychologically, it makes me feel better.
Anyway, best go. I want to go to the hospital early-ish so i can practise my exercises in the car. I have been naughty and not really touched them as i have felt so tired. Hope i don't get shouted at.

Morning everybody :hello:
The retirement party at work last night was a lovely do. The person who was retiring really enjoyed it and I finally got to meet his daughter, who I've always known was in the same year as me at York uni. The party was in a function room at the Institute of Electrical Engineers, overlooking the Thames, and it was a really nice eveningI even managed to drink sensibly all evening faced with an endless supply of free wine
(I alternated with fruit juice) although the same can't be said for my colleague who virtually had to be carried home
The canapes were delicious.
Then I came home and made myself cheese and marmite on toast as a snack, but burnt my tongue - and what with that and what feels like the onset of a throat infection, my mouth and throat are quite sore this morning. Oh well, better to get it now than this time next week when I have to be able to sing 5 church services in 4 days.
Tonight I should have a quiet night at home anyway. I have a couple of online surveys waiting, and need to jot down notes for some opera reviews.
Breakfast - porridge
Lunch - chicken pasta bake
Dinner - grilled salmon and new potatoes with something green which I haven't yet bought. Probably peas as I need peas anyway.
SnowyOwl - I do like the idea of "work" as a four-letter word (one that starts with W and ends with K) I'm really looking forward to the weekend too - just for some "me time" and because I love singing Palm Sunday mass.
PP - hope you're surviving the pincushion treatment :grouphug: and that your OH & DD enjoyed their day at the Natural History Museum. What was it that they brought back for you?
Hugs and prayers for MATH and family.
Sorry if I've missed anybody out. Must go now - busy day at w**k.

Morning all, the weather is glorious here, if a little nippy, its so sunny though
OH is back at work today so he was off at 5.45am leaving me with the double bed to myself. It appears that the postie did not approve of others sleeping whilst he was awake and so he came to wake me up at 9.00am with a loud bang on the glass door as our bell is a bit selective and only works for a few people!!
Anyway it got me up bright and early, I have hung the washing out on the line and put another load in the WM. I have put some butter beans out to soak for spicy bean burgers tonight. Have also cleaned the cat tray and made a list of things to do (mostly cleaning).
OH is home at 2.30 so I need to get a move on now before he arrives home and messes it all up again
Have a lovely day all

Hi everyone.
I have smiled at this post today because yes, I too am at w**k today. It made me chuckle anyway, which is a bonus!
I have HM vegetable broth for lunch with HM bread. I'm sure my colleagues think I live some sort of 'good life'. I have mentioned that I will be growing tomatoes, etc this year and what with the HM bread, HM fruitcake, HM yoghurt I'm sure some eyebrows are being raised!
I need to make a sharp exit this afternoon as I need to take DS's stuff for cub camp to the cub leader tonight to be dropped off at the camp tomorrow. (They are hiking to the camp site so they are sending a Sherpa ahead with their equipment.) We also have our Karate lesson at 7pm so we will need to drop it off before that.
Unfortunately I may have to w**k on Saturday this week. It is year-end and at the same time we are installing a new system so things are a bit hectic to say the least. I will take the time off in lieu over the Easter hols which will help to reduce childcare costs. DS is off for two and a half weeks which takes some organising when you work full-time.
I have a few books to post from Readitswapit so I have to nip to the post office on my way home.
PP - Stay strong during your treatment. Don't forget there is a virtual community on here wishing you well.
MATH - The same goes for you. It sounds like you and your family are going through some tough times but we are all thinking about you and sending you positive thoughts.
Enjoy the rest of the day.

I'm feeling so stressed today, last night I noticed DS1 (9) has spots on his torso, he's had chickenpox once but I understand you can get it again, anyway i'm taking him to the doctor this afternoon (after w**k) to confirm it, I wouldn't normally bother but he has an appointment at B'ham childrens hosp on tues and I've got a horrible feeling we can't go - and you know how long these appointment take to come thru'
anyway after work will clean kitchen etc with my fantastic microfibre cloth (thank to whoever recommended them) and calm down.
Tea - pork cubes in stew0
