Morning everyone... ooops, it's afternoon
This morning, I seem to have managed to been voted convenor of our street's working party
After I'd taken the boys to school, I treated myself to a hot shower and a hair wash - uninteruptedThen went to a neighbour's house with a few others to sort out the state of the road - we don't know whether it's private or unadopted, but either way it's time for resurfacing, so best look in the budget. I'm going toring the council back in a bit to find out whether it's private or not. However, all eyes looked at me when it was time to sort out who did what. The chap who used to live here always did it, so for some reason they think it goes with the territory. methinks we could have some problems down the line, but here's hoping
Haven't read all of yesterday's posts yet, but glad to hear you're back CQ :hello: Was great to see so many newbies too.
Ok, I need to get on today. I have less than 2 hours now to do some laundry and general housework as well as decide what's for tea.
Conjunctivitus - my little one had that a few times as a baby. Once he I had cream, one time drops and the rest i caught it erly and cleared it by careful cleansing with cooled boiled water. it is horribel for them though, especially when they wake in the morning and can't open their eyes
Tootles, this is the one I've gone for (altho' not from Comet - or was it - I can't remember!) I need a good oven as mine is so bad, so thought I'd get a decent combi microwave - it will be well used anyway
Ok, love ya and leave ya - have a good day everyone

Oooooo Taboo & lemonade, haven't had that for years. Was it nice? I can't remember
My other favourite student blast from the past was a "blastaway" - diamond white & castaway together. I think it'd make me heave now!0 -
Afternoon all! Very sunny day here in N.I. but I did all my washing yesterday so have nothing to put on the line!!DS2 is asleep in his cot as is still having side effects from his MMR vaccine, and DS1 is keeping himself busy counting strawberries?!
Am planning to make a seafood pie for tea tonight, which I have never done before, so will have to check the recipe index, I think Black Saturn did one.
I would be much more old-style if I could just get off this computer!!!
:A Ta ta for now!!!Sept. grocery challenge = £500 (221.60 so far!;))0 -

Hello again,
Just got back from the hospital, my level isnt very high (and its a week when i normally have a higher level) so a bit dissapointed, and means i will have to go back to having weekly blood tests leading up to our holiday, and ive also got to go back to the hospital at the end of May, to see what we will have to do to make it safe for me to fly, and go on the rides safely (with a low platelet level there is a risk of bleeding, so on rides that jerk and go quickly, head movement could be dangerous for me!!!) It is a worry, but there are things they can do, so i can still look forward to our holiday, just a shame about the tests beforehand, but never mind, better to be safe than sorry!!!!
Also took DD back to A & E, and im glad i did, turns out they shouldve done an xray on Sunday, as she has a greenstick fracture at the top of her arm!!! No wonder shes not wanted to move her arm. As it is high up they dont put it in a cast, but she has a 'cuff and collar' sling and we have to attend fracture clinic next week. Well, at least we know now, the little ones we had with us were ever so well behaved, considering we had to wait nearly 2 hours in casualty!!!!
Right, better sort these children out and go and collect DS from school, take care evryone xxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
catowen - glad you DD's arm has been sorted out at last.
Lucie - Diamond White and Castaway? EEEEWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwww....
chewy62 - Yes there's definitely a recipe on Black Saturn's thread for fish pie. I do a different version which is mainly based on Arkonite Babe's recipe on the recipe thread, except I use more potatoes (which I mash in their skins). Lately however I've been adding a tin of prawns as per Black Saturn's version which I find improves the taste and texture. Next time I make it I will be adding some parsley because TBH it can be a bit bland, depending on your palate.Operation Get in Shape

DH has taken computer away to a friend to see if we can link the computer to our laptop so that we can both use broadband at the same time.
Typing this in the library - made 2 small loaves and one has been eaten by DH and DD already - also made fruitcake in the oven at the same time- was in bit of a rush so guess what I forgot?
Yes - the fruit!
Have told DD it is "cinnamon cake" and is meant to be like that! lol;)"This site is addictive!"

Something REALLY weird has got me VERY worried.....Last week I was happily rolling pastry in the kitchen when my mobile phone rang...mobile was in my handbag, with keys locked, and I was the other side of the room...when I answered it, conversation went like so:-
Me:- Hello
Unkown Man:- Hello, yes?
Me:- Can I help you?
Unkown Man:- What? You're calling me! what do you want?
Me:- No I'm not, my phone rang, I answered, you were on the other end
Unkown Man:- Well I don't know what's going on..(BTW the man had a very pronounced Scottish accent)
Unkown Man then hung up. Well at the time I just put it down to one of those odd things that happen, I tried to check the number calling but it was with- held, so I thought no more about it until last night, when my 15 year old DD came home after an evening round at her friends and said that a really peculiar thing had happened with her mobile phone....she then proceded to tell me a mirror version of what had happened to me last week!
Now, I didn't tell anyone about this (seemed so something and nothing I forgot about it straight away), so she was as shocked as I was when I told her exactly the same thing had happened to me last week.
Both me and my DH find it very disturbing, given that our telephone numbers are not at all the same, so it couldn't be a miss dial, in both cases the number calling was with held, we neither of us give out our mobile numbers to all and sundry, and we don't know any Scottish men! Both the mobiles are registered to me, so I telephoned Virgin mobile and related the tale to them, but they seemed to think I was pulling their leg and didn't seem to take it at all seriously, but I can't believe that such a coincidence could happen!
I'm mostly worried because of my daughter, if it was just me getting a peculiar call on ONE mobile phone I would be able to shrug it off...but I really, really don't like the fact that my daughter is receiving them too.
I know the man didn't make threats or anything, but just the fact that I don't know how he got hold of both mobile numbers is scaring me ...any words of wisdom would be very welcome - even if it's only to tell me to stop being daft, because the more I think about it the more I'm worried, and because of my daughter I can''t STOP thinking about it.People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading
