:hello: Weekly catch-up from Queenie-Land
Been a very challenging week!! All four breaks needed doing on the car - but better safe than sorry.
Then, tried buying a new home for the chicken online - noticed my Visa expires in a few days and phoned to check up why no renewals!? Seems they were sent out ... back in MARCH! Not received. So, had to be cancelled, which also meant the card I hold which in turn meant my purchase payment was declined
Still waiting for new card!!! (down side) But, it does mean I'm not spending (up side!!
) Hopefully, it will arrive soon because I have some Tesco vouchers that need using up and as I use the Tesco Visa to make all our purchases and pay off at the end of each month ... I need my points!
Ok, really should catch up with what's been happening while I've been away.
Take care, everyone!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just had a lovely surprise, in the local evening herald last night, my son was in the football section!!!!! Not only that, he was shown in 3 of the 4 photos!!!! Very proud mum now, and have managed to get 2 copies, so thats good. DS is also very excited, as he is now in the football pages like a 'proper' footballer!!!!0 -
ms_london wrote:Bargain Rzl - you are doing a fab job with your savings - do you not thing you are a little hard on yourself sometimes? I definately admire you, but you do need to give yourself a break sometimes :0) I'm a bit jealous actually, as your savings seem to have shot up, and mine are still low - and time is running out!! Eeeeeeeeek!! xx
This week, worst case scenario, I''ll only have spent £35 on food and odds & ends (ok, it might go up to £40 if I nip into Tesco's on Sunday afternoon and find a freezerful of reduced meat) But the idea in general is to keep within £50, not undercut it hugely (am aiming for the same in May, but probably won't have a huge underspend).
I didn't start out intending to be such a skinflint this month, but once I got going it was hard to stop
Next week I'm allowing at least £20 for groceries as I'll be checking out our new local farmers' market. And fortunately, next weekend's OS Meet is budgeted separately
PS: Ms_London, your savings look fab too, so don't be too hard on yourself!Operation Get in Shape

Thanks for the best wishes. I just rang the vets, and he is settled, and had his x-rays, but the vet needs to ring me. I hope he does soon as i do feel really worried about him. He's still so little really. The vet last night said there was no danger of loss of life, but shock in itself is not good is it. I hope it isn't as serious as him having to have a leg off like we thought last night.
PP - you've inspired me. Seems though i am off work, i will do some jacket spuds for tea tonight. I normally can't be bothered, but i will nuke them for a bit first so it doesn't take as long.
Queenie - nice to see you back. Hope noone got up to mischief with the missing card
RZL - sorry the butty went cold. You'd been looking forward to it all week so i can understand why you are feeling a bit peeved.
shez - enjoy lakeside :T I must do a shopping trip this weekend while DH is away.
smokey - do your cats cause you this much bother? I think i might work on them being indoor cats again as the worry is too much for me. What with getting stuck in trees, stomach bugs and now this. Do you reckon Fred has lost 3 lives?
will let you all now what the vet says
Michelle x
update - fred is still a bit shook up, he's had his x-ray and no fractures - thankfully. His problem with the blood supply is probably due to the swelling, but i have to take him back to the vets tomorrow morning. thankfully no op. The vet reckons he might have been attacked by another cat, so he needs a course of antibiotics to stop an abscess forming. I've got to go and pick him up, and give him some tlc. I am glad i took the day off work.0 -
Saturday: housework
Sunday: church, then over to XBF's to watch the snooker over a plate of spag bol and bottle of red wine
Monday: watching the snooker, and weather permitting, probably a nice long walk in local park
By the way, PP, where is this bootsale you mentioned?Operation Get in Shape

Hello everyone from the Land of SnowyOwl's office. I have the office grumpy/sulky colleague sitting behind me bleating as loud as she can about something exciting one of her relatives is getting up to. She really shouts when she arranges her holidays, buys something new in a size 8, etc...everybody knows she's off to Canada soon...Like those who she doesn't speak to care... I need earmuffs to concentrate on my websurfing...
Michelle I am really sorry to hear about your wee kitty. They are such a worry - I have only let my two out once so far and that resulted in chaos. They are therefore indoor cats but I can see that they are absolutely craving to go outside again so that's a dilemma for me. I hope your kitty gets through this trauma fully intact. The vet probably just wants to discuss the options with you rather than deliver news you don't want to receive.
BargainRzl...I am utterly jealous of your savings. You seem so disciplined with your budgets too - planning my money is my downfall, I can never keep track.
See you all later.
