catowen - poor you. Sounds like one of those situations where you say "Well I'm not going to punish you" (for climbing trees when they shouldn't have been) "cos I think you've punished yourselves quite enough!"

Exactly!!!! While we were waiting DS kept saying he was bored, so all i said was 'if you will climb trees!!!' i think message was received and understood (for a few days anyway!!!)
  • Hi I've been a lurker for a couple of months now. Enjoy the board hugely. Have been OS for most of my life especially cooking, have always baked.

At work at the moment but babysitting DGS tonight.

    Have a lovely day everyone
  • :hello: Hello to all the newbies!!!

Hope everybody is ok and not experiencing too much of the "Monday morning" feeling!!! I know I am!!! Hope it wears off soon!!! The computer at home wasn't working this morning  really can't afford for that to go wrong!!

My soup for lunch today was still frozen this morning!!! So it's currently defrosting. Hope it will taste ok, the last HM soup I had was rather gross to say the least!!! So fingers crossed!!!

And my working day isn't going to finish until Midnight tonight :( Hey ho!!! Needs must where there's debt concerned!!! :p

It's now been 7 weeks since I jacked in the smoking!! And I've only had one cigarette in that whole time! :j :j I was distracted by too much red vino and a rather mean friend!!

    Breakfast was mini shredded wheats
Lunch will be HM soup (I hope!!!) otherwise will have to buy something if it's nasty!!
Dinner will be HM pasta sauce and pasta

And my beans are finally sprouting!! :j

Hope everyone has a good day, will pop back later

    :hello: Morning everyone,
Welcome to all the newbies :T

Lovely sunny day here in Worcester as Brokenwings has already said ;) There are some dark clouds though so I'm not sure whether to risk putting my washing out.

Been to the supermarket and overspent! Not by too much though.Splashed out on a couple of tuna steaks for me and OH.Just realised they need eating today(I was going to freeze them for Fri),trouble is I've defrosted some salmon for tonight.Think I'll cook that for lunch and make a sandwich filling/salad with it.Should do me for lunch tomorrow.Anyway I think I'll get my omega 3 this week ;)

    Plan for today

    Make bread
Make chicken stock and save leftover chicken for chicken pilaff tomorrow
    Get laundry done
    Hoover
Finish listening to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince :)
  • Good Morning everyone
I dont have too many plans for today, DS1 (does that mean dearest son??? I need help with all the abbreviations, sorry) is home from school with a tummy uspet, so he is tucked up in bed with a hot water bottle and a, well somethng, he can grab hold of quickly if needs be.
I've done 2 loads of washing, 1 in tumble dryer, the other 1 waiting to go in. Done a bit of ironing   hate it hate it, lol.
    B is/was toast
L is pasta and cheese sause
D is fry up, dont have very often, so its a treat.

    Hello Again!

Have popped back to read the thread after taking DS to nursery (back to pick him up in 5 mins - doesnt the time fly???)

Thanks for the welcome from all and hello to other newbies too!

Paid my bills, got nice fish pan in Lidls 4.99 - unfortunately went in asda and got some of those cheap energy bulbs they are flogging for 47p! but very pleased as I only got my necessary bits and came out - instead of the usual only getting pint of milk saga that ends up £20 later!! :j

    B - wheetabix
snack - banana/strawberries instead of cup of tea and choc mini roll! (trying to be good on so called diet!)
L - dont know yet am in middle of doing planner.

forgot to put on pedometer this morning - must try harder :o

Fancy making another BS Malt Loaf, but will it be too tempting as I'm trying to cut down!! ha ha

want to put towels out on line, but clouding over:rolleyes:

    off to pick up DS.

    Have a good day all.

    morning all
hello to all the new people - with all the extra posts i will have to check on the thread more often to keep up!

i just got back from OHs for the weekend and am having a cup of tea before going to work. and quite excitingly i didn't have any tea on saturday and didn't get the migraines that i did a month ago when i tried to cut the caffeine out. cutting down slowly is working much better!

had a wonderful weekend, birthday yesterday and was completely spoilt by OH - breakfast in bed, dinner cooked on sat night, all the washing up done by him.... i told him i could get used to it but i don't think it'll be happening again in a rush!!

i'm off to try and catch up a bit more from the weekend/this morning - have a good day everyone

    Morning all

Welcome - Shez, Studentnurse, Firstclassmale and torburk - you''ll enjoy life here

Hope everyone is well today - hugs to those who need them

Stopped in at SIL yesterday while DSD was at party - she was looking after a friends baby and his 2 sisters - 4 weeks old he was - I was holding him and OH said I didnt look comfortable - I would have been more at ease holding a kitten :o I have never liked holding small babies as I am afraid I would drop them - he was a good little soul.

We didnt get back home till nearly 7 so we ended up getting an Indian on the way home as it would have been nearly 8 when dinner was ready - £13 for dinner for the 4 of us was alright

House was tidy when I left this morning but OH and DSS are in all day until it is time to collect DSD from school as she is attending a drama group at school this week.

    b - toast and cheese
l - HM soup and HM biscuits
d - roast pork, yorkies, roast potatoes, sweet potato mash, brocolli

Finally found a picture of my eldest Cat - Smokey - have now changed my avatar

    Have lovely day all

    Take care
