Morning all
Lillibet, as soon as I saw it was St George's Day, I remembered Spud's baptism.Bizarrely, having joked about visiting to wave my microfibre cloth, we are coincidentally going to be in Epsom today - but don't worry, once my Mum has us in her clutches, we won't be going anywhere.
Have a great day! That 7-bird roast sounds like it was inspired by the "Peacock Royal" they used to serve at Hampton Court Palace!Fabulous stuff.
Jo, I sympathise with you over the boyfriend's elbows - I regularly get elbowed in the back of the head or kicked up the backside by his knee. You'll notice I have my back to him at all times - self preservation!
Well, this won't get us dressed and out on the motorway, so I'd better get on with it!
Happy birthday to those whose birthday it is - and for everybody else, hope you have a good one, whatever you wind up doing!:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Morning everyone. It's raining here so the two loads of washing I did last night will be on the clothes maid and radiators (again). DH in Scotland at the moment with his mates for their annual get together, used to be a diving weekend but now it's a drinking weekend. Have an idea to take the kids swimming this morning but it's so expensive I'll have to see how the finances are first, got a lamb fillet to put in for tea and then stuff to iron for back to school day tomorrow. Enjoy you Sunday, soba.0

Morning all
All's still quiet in the house of Pooky, DH is snoring merrily, DD's are eating easter eggs (still) and watching tv. I like quiet times like this.
WM on, washing up to do from last night (only a few plates and glasses)then hopefully we'll get some gardening done.
DD's are off out with their father this afternoon - he can't work out how to feed them (it's far to complicated) so they have lunch before they go and come back in time for dinner - doesn't seem worth the effort of coming 80 miles for 3 hours, once a month.....I've organised for them to go to a local castle, we've got free passes. He phoned on wednesday and said he had no idea what to do with them for 3 whole hours - what could I suggest - I was polite- honest.
Hair cut went well yesterday - amazing how much confidence you can gain just by having a cut. Stopped off in town and got some clothes (naughty me) Treated DD's to a new pair of earrings each - 3 for the price of 2 - so I got a pair too
Then it was off to buy DD's early birthday pressie (birthday in November) - a new bike - she's outgrown her other one and she's paying back half the money from her birthday money when she gets it - means she can actually play with the bike now while the weathers nice.
Then (yes an expensive day here yesterday) we ordered our new bed and mattress from MFI using tesco vouchers...it's a lovely black metal frame and we only had to actually spend £60 cash, the vouchers covered the other £350...that's what I call a bargin....won't be delivered for 7 weeks though - just hope the old one holds out that long.
Hope everyone has a lovely day - good luck with Spuds doo later :j"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning everyone
Katgoddess - My thoughts are with you and your family.
Lillibet - Hope you have a fabulous day.
So far its lovely and sunny here. Hope it stays this way!
Went to my mother-in-laws last night as she was having a party for her 50th. Wasn't really looking forward to it and didn't have a great night
I sound like a right party pooper. I was driving as hubby can't and wasn't paying for a taxi. Unfortunately most people got blind drunk and there is nothing more annoying than drunk people when you are stone cold sober.
Found out that my sister-in-law has had a boyfriend for over a year that neither myself or hubby knew about. The flaming neighbours knew more about him than us. Very strange I think. Must be something wrong with us that she didn't want us meeting him
Plans for today include cleaning the bathroom. Usually clean it quickly once a day but then once a week give it what I call "severe" cleaning. Not much else needing doing round the house as its all done :j
Big footie match on here today. Our team need a win as they are battling to get second place in the league. Dunno yet if we will stay in and watch it or go for a  Will see what the thought on that is when hubby gets up.
Well gotta go and find some food as I am starving and not waiting on the rest of the house getting up!
Have a great Sunday.0 -
Morning everyone. Another beautiful sunny morning here.
Pooky - you made me laugh about the children's father. Well done on being polite. My dd's father took her out last weekend - but needed to return her here early (not to his flat which is local), because he was 'tired'. I work full time in a demanding job and had her entirely on my own 24/7 for two years, but naturally never experienced tiredness
Katgodess - happy birthday
Lilibet - have a lovely day - food sound delicious.
I really need to get on and do some housework as was out Friday night and almost all day (from 7am!) yesterday. I am off to church at 11am and then going out to lunch with a friend0 -
Good Morning :j
A quiet day in the house of stressed! DD is playing in her room and DH is snoring (not so sweetly) after a night on the town (feeling a bit worse for wear me thinks  )
It's raining here so TD is on grrr and so is WM. Not much doing today - usual ironing of school uniforms etc etc
Lillibet - hope today goes well!!
Katgoddess - Happy Birthday
Bye for nowSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Happy St Georges Day Everyone!:hello: :hello:
just read yesterdays thread, due to being out all day yesterday.
Katgoddess: so sorry to hear of your loss, our thoughts/prayers are with you at this time. x Happy Birthday too!
Lillibet: Congratulations and hope everything goes well for a super day for the christening!
Bargainrzl: thanks for update of posting yesterday!
Well what a mega cleaning bonanza I had yesterday! I cleaned living room carpet, got DH to clean windows (thats why its raining here now- always does afterwards). Tried Service Clean in the WM. Gave the DW a clean with soda/descaler tablet, have just chucked down Mr Muscle foam cleaner down sink - in the hope that all gets rid of nasty niffs coming from pipes!
Then had to go to stepsisters house (whose not very well but wont go into details) - got DH to clean all her windows (they cant get a window cleaner round there area) and my mum (pensioner 73 cant really do it) kids from school had chucked eggs up at upstairs windows. Did major scrubbing with the stardrops (brilliant stuff), emptied out stuff from cellar (will take to tip today for her), found some masonry paint and painted her small front wall, washed down the front and painted bottom window cill to make the front of house respectable - I know how my mum worries about it!
Was so shattered when i got home had dinner and fell asleep on sofa!
Going to watch London Marathon on tv, usually pop along the route to see it, but its raining so no good for kiddies.
Ive just joined the £2/20p coin savers clubs today.
Have a great sunday everyone! DH is making cuppa so im off.

Morning all,
Lillibet - Good luck with today. I hope everyone enjoys the spread. You will have to take a photo and post it so that we can see.
KatGoddess - Happy Birthday
jw1096 - My hubbie has done that to me before. He is always turning over and punching me. MEN i agree
I have been up since 2.30am DS decided he was not sleepy  . Then DD got up at 5am so u have 2 very happy children on my hands.
I need to do some gardening today i just hope that the weather holds off.
My DH went and collected my brithday pressie yesturday ( only a month to late LOL )
He got me a set of Le Cruset. I have a few odd pieces i have been given and love it so DH got me a 5 piece set with a stand. I fairness to him he did order is a week before my birthday but it took this long to come in.
Anyhow the good bit. When he placed the order he was told that he would get 20% off as it would come in after the sale started. When he got to debenhams to collect it they had already taken the 20% off then took off another 20%.
set should have been £250 DH got it for £166 he said the man looked at the till with a puzzled face.
Hope you all have a lovely day

Good morning everyone
Lillibet, what a special day for you all. I hope you will have many happy memories to treasure for ever.
KatGoddess, Happy Birthday wishes and good thoughts to you.
Not sure what to do today. Yesterday was such a lovely day that I had thought I may go for a cycle, but today it is grey and a bit damp, I will see how I feel later on
OH has already told me that he doesnt want the pork steaks that I have in the freezer and had planned for supper tonight, so I will have to think again....alternatively HE could think again
Breakfast will be cereal and toast, after that it's anyones guess!!
Have fun

Good morning everyone,
KG - Sorry to hear about your loss, our thoughts are with you, but hope you have alovely day today x
Lillibet - Hope Spuds christening goes well, enjoy your day.
Pooky - Your ex sounds like mine!!!! Sees the children once a month (if he can be bothered!!!) and then does nothing with them!!! Oh well, we must show willing!!!!
Well, my mum is still here, so shes in charge of our roast chicken today, it is nice to take a back seat sometimes!!!! DS has a party to go to this afternoon, so not sure if mum is going to go once he has gone, or whether she is going to wait until we get back.
Not much else planned for today, although will do a clean once mum has gone.
Hope everyone has a good day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0
