((((Katgoddess)))) - really sorry to hear about your Nan. This time last week my grandmother was looking like she was also on the way out, but for now she seems to be doing a bit better.
Frizz - happy birthday - sorry it's a bit late
Just got back from the opera - and the pub- ran into FIVE friends so stayed out socialising. It was a really thrilling show except for the last scene which was a bit of a disappointment! Before that, I managed to get lots done around the house:
1. Bedding washed and on the line
2. Big fish pie made. Will portion up tomorrow to make lunches for next week.
3. Banana loaf made. It collapsed on its way out of the loaf tin  so I put it in a lidded tin that was only just big enough for the loaf - last time I put a collapsed cake in there the pressure stuck it back together.
4. Sandwiches made, to take when I went out - as a result of which I came in on budget even though I had beer with my friends
5. Washing up done!
OK, have to be up earlyish in the morning. It's marathon day, which cuts off the bus route that's normally my reserve method of getting to church if there's a problem with the trains - so I'd better aim to get on an earlier train than normal just in case.
Kat - thinking of you :grouphug:

Yay, haven't been the thread starter for months but had to get up early this morning to roast a 7 bird roast:drool: as it's Spud's baptism today:dance:_party_:laugh:.
Off for a cup of tea & a snooze on the sofa in a minute as there isn't much else I can do for a couple of hours:D
Here's what we are having after we baptize George Henry Michael :
7 Bird Roast (Turkey, duck, chicken, guinea fowl x2, pheasent x2 & pigeon & stuffing) carved hot into pitta bread with
cucumber/tomato/watercress
Mozerella cheese for the veggies/bird-flu avoidance crowd:rolleyes:
Followed by 2 tiers of christening cake lovingley made by my Mum (Noahs ark on the flood waters:cheesy:)
Accompanied by copious amounts of wine:D
Hope everyone has a fab day, if you're English then wave a flag for St George, and if you're near West Molesey & want to pop in then feel free to join us:wave:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

Morning everyone, Morning Lillibet
Wow Lillibet I am impressed by that spread of food you're putting on! you're a braver woman than me I can tell you, it sounds fantastic, your guests will love it. Congratulations to George Henry Michael on his baptism.
KatGoddess, have the best birthday you can manage - I know it's sad times for you at the moment, but happy birthday all the same.
And of course....Happy St George's Day to everyone in England.
The land of SnowyOwl is fairly wide awake at the moment. I had a very, very lazy day yesterday - not telling what time I got up, but it wasn't early. Today I'm making up for it by getting out of bed at 6.00 am.
Today is crunch day for my stupid essays. I have no choice but to finish them as they are due in this week. One is almost finished, one isn't even started. I can't wait until this course is over, only about six weeks to go then I will be free from classes, exams and homework, hurrah.
Have a fab day everyone - I hear on the radio it's going to be a lovely sunny day so enjoy.

Morning!
I couldnt help but wake up early this morning as boyf elbowed me in the face twice   while he was asleep. I came through into the lounge and found that he had left a mess and left the tv on all night etc   . Men. Stupid creatures.
Anyway, I had a reasonably early night last night last night, which helped me to wake up early! I had quite a nice day shopping yesterday, got a lovely duvet, mattress protector and bed sheet all reduced but good quality. I have a feeling the sheet may not fit the mattress though, I think the mattress is going to be too deep for it!
I also bought myself a mobile phone, I had a very old nokia 'brick' that ive been using but I never take it with me, so I bought a cheapie in woolies for £35 (the £20 one had sold out  ) but its suprisingly good for the money. Im already taking it with me when I leave the house so its worth it, my aim was to want to take it with me!
I also bought the light ive been after yesterday, its on its way and should be delivered the same day as the bed - so Wednesday evening is going to be busy with sorting out the bedroom! Todays plans are to meet up with a friend I havent seen for a while, but this morning im going to organise a few things like ironing, and filing some bills etc!
Anyway, im off for a browse, I dont really have much else to say!

Morning everyone
Lillibet - WOW impressive food. You'll deserve a generous share of that wine after preparing all that. Give George Henry Michael a big hug from everone on OS. I'm sure we'll all be thinking about you all.
Snowy - You must have needed your lie in & lazy day yesterday. It does you good every now & then, helps recharge the batteries.
Pavlov - Have a good day at w**k. Wales is certainly a great place, it's just a pity about the language - no vowels!!! :rotfl:
Katgoddess Try to make this the best birthday you can. Your Nan wouldn't have wanted you to be sad on your birthday.
I'm very tired this morning. We had a fantastic night last night, great food, great music & great company. I was driving so not drinking but I don't mind that. Don't tell anyone but our friends couldn't get a taxi home so I had 7 in the car  2 in the boot. It's an estate but still somewhat illegal, although one of them is actually a policeman. We got home about 1 am & I had a cuppa then went to bed but couldn't get to sleep, I then woke before 5 so have only had a couple of hours sleep. I decided to get up about 6, have another cuppa then go back to bed when DH gets up & try for another couple of hours. At least it means the BM and TD (excuseable as it's DS's clothes & he needs them dry to take home today & it's raining) are on E7.
The rest of the offspring are coming later for a roast lunch - beef & all the trimmings followed by HM fruit crumble & custard - so I may peel a few potatoes before I go back to bed.
Morning JO - You're right, most of them are the same. I've come down to empty crisp packets & beer cans in the living room
YAWN
Have a lovely day all.

Good morning all
I've dropped hubby at work, WM is on, BM is on. DS is coming for for Sunday Dinner, Roast chicken & all the trimmings & Trifle, DS's favourite. My spare room is ready for if I get another lodger. I still have to make some cakes for lunch boxes next week & will make a few extra for DS to take home with him. I've borrowed a dvd, Goblet of fire from a workmate so I'll probably watch that today as it is drizzly here & I can't get anything done in the garden. All in all, a fairly quiet day here. Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs to all.
