Had a call late last night from my mate. Mum is ok, conscious but very tired. They are awaiting the scan results this morning - she has had a few seizures during the day yesterday so they have given her epilepsy drugs to sort her out.

Will take up the batch of Cheese scones for them today and drop off a card and chocolates as i'm on a half day at work.

It's going to be a long day today too. My dad died on Boxing day last year from Cancer. Dad used to manage the local football team so his friends and all the lads/men etc that used to play for him have decided to have a memorial match for him - which is tonight. Looking forward to it but i know it's going to be a long day....

Breakfast - again I got up and made potted meat on toast

Lunch - not sure yet, off to mum's in prep for tonight so may have beans on toast as i haven’t had that in months!

Tea - Hmm hard one. May be the buffet that they are putting on after the game tonight? Have taken out some beef mince but I may cook something inn the morning for next week with that.

Thanks to all for the hugs, I will store them and pass some on to my friend and her sister and dad and save some for tonight.

    Have a lovely day all

    Good morning everyone,

Nutty - better news re your friends mum, hope the scan results are good for her, hope you have a lovely evening, may it bring back some lovely memories and good times x
PP - enjoy your weekend away
JW - good news re BF job!!!
Liz - enjoy your trip round Asda!!!!

I have 2 little ones here today, and DD, so not too busy. My mum is coming down for the weekend tonight, so im off out tonight with some friends. We are going to a Weatherspoons, so shouldnt cost too much and i very rarely get out, (no babysitters) so its nice when mum does come down to take advantage of the free babysitting!!!!!
Mum always brings a food parcel with her, so hopefully wont have to do a big shop this week, so very moneysaving!!!
DS will be back from his dads later as well, will be pleased when he gets here, i hate it when hes away, i cant help but worry and i get very jittery when i have to see their dad (we dont get on at all!!) at least its only once a month.
Ive just put the BM on, dont think i have enough washing for the WM, so just some general tidying today. The only prob about having people down to stay, is the house will be a mess all weekend, so Sunday i will do a really big clean, once they have gone home.
Hope everyone has a good Friday, ((((HUGS)))) to anyone who needs or wants one!!!
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

morning all and happy birthday Ma'am *courtsey*

twink - is grumpy the cat in your avatar??? it looks far to sweet to be grumpy! I would love a cat, but have such a small flat, with no outdoor access that i'm not sure that it would be very kind.

PP - glad that you have a bit of a break from the needle nurse. long may it continue!

right - have lots to do today - so no Internet mse surfing for hours for me!!! must go make a start. have a great day.

B- was cereal with a banana and a cuppa
    L- baked potato
D - no idea as my friend is cooking!

    have a good day :D

    Morning everyone :hello:

Didn't get chance to post on here yesterday and have only read a few posts, so (((hugs)) to those in need, esp nutty.

I'm looking after my friend's 2 boys today, so there are fight scenes from LOTR being enacted in the living room. DS2 has been in tears once already - but he'll live - he's usually the one meting out the most 'punishment' :D

Today, as the boys will be occupied, I shall catch up with some chores. Managed to attack the ironing basket last night - but still have lots more to do. WM still needs to go on a couple of times and I'm hoping it stays dry so I can put them on the line.

BM has been on and I'm going to make a ham and veg soup later - must go and 'soak' some broth mix in the pressure cooker as forgot last night. Will make spag bol and garlic bread for tea - yum :) I may even get round to making banana muffins - haven't done them yet, although been meaning too. :0

Ok - have to take one of the boys to his footie practise.

Hope you all have a good day and PP - hope you have a nice w/e away.

    Morning :hello:

((((((nuttyrockeress)))))) - glad to know your friend's mum is doing better.

As per usual I intended to have a quiet evening at home but went out for a "quick" drink with XBF at a riverside pub in Rotherhithe and ended up staying out for 3 hours :o

We were comparatively well-behaved and only had two drinks each :D and we shared a plate of scampi & chips (paid for by him) for supper. And the beer (Sam Smith's ales) was very reasonably priced too (just over £2 a pint) so I think we shall be going there again :D Of course this meant I didn't get to shop or cook yesterday - luckily I did have one portion of chicken pasta bake left to take to work today, but will have to do some cooking tonight and over the weekend as all I now have in the fridge and freezer are raw ingredients.

And I got back to my local station just as Sainsburys was doing final reductions :D Unfortunately there were no fabulous meat bargains today but I did pick up 12 wholemeal rolls and 8 croissants for 40p :D As I am going to a VERY LONG show tomorrow, this will enable me to take some cheap sarnies for the intervals - I had budgeted £5 to eat out but spent most of it yesterday evening on beer :o

Have come down with a sneezy cold with tickly throat. Housemate cheerfully informed me that I must have got it from him  Nice of him to warn me before I caught it!

Breakfast today - well I haven't actually had it yet - just about to go and bung a couple of last night's reduced croissants in the office microwave (they're not big enough for one to be a whole breakfast!)
    Lunch - chicken pasta bake
Dinner - have taken some cod and salmon out of the freezer and will be doing a variant on my usual fish pie recipe (using salmon instead of prawns). And will probably do a banana loaf.

Just remembered I do have 4 portions of sausage casserole in the freezer but will need to do rice to go with them for some of next week's lunches.

    Have a nice day everybody

Morning everyone, specially to Nutty - I hope things get more positive for your friend's mum.

Twink...good luck with Grumpy - my lovely boy Henry (see avatar, now deceased) hated tablets. I used to have to bring him to the vet for his worm tablets and even then he managed to draw the vet's blood! There is a knack but sometimes the cat is too smart.

I let my new cats out on their own for the first time the other day. What chaos. A neighbour had her two dogs in her garden - my cats had never seen dogs before and reacted with a mix of curiosity and trepidation. Next thing you know the dogs had escaped and one of my kitties made a mad dash to an unseen area right at the other end of the close - luckily the littlest one ran into the house. I was nearly sick at the thought of poor Ted legging it all over the place in fear and getting lost. That's it for going outside now, I'll get them microchipped before they go out again.

I'm here in the land of w***. It's v.v.quiet today, which is wonderful, I'll get lots of boring filing done - thank heavens for MSE - at least my (frequent) breaks will be interesting.

    See you all later.

Feeling really pleased with myself this morning.

DD has friend over and I had intended to make bacon, cheese and onion muffins or bacon buttie for them all.

    No bacon and no bread!

Instead of automatically rushing to the corner shop and spending about a fiver - I made cheese and onion muffins which were happily scoffed.

Bread dough is in the breadmaker ready to be baked and I will make a small loaf and six rolls.

Made the girls sausages and home made pancakes - also greatly appreciated.

I feel downright virtuous and even smug!;)

Had a rude awakening this morning OH got out of bed and went into the bathroom, I heard a curse and he came back into the bedroom, the bin men are in the road, the b----y bin is full and I haven't put it out (they usually come about lunchtime), so I nipped out of bed pu ton my dressing gown and hared down stairs and out the door, up the path and shouted ' wait for me'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! got the dustbin and ran up the garden..... the chap looked in the gate and said 'are we too early for you duck' I was too out of breath to reply, just nodded, kind man brought the bin back into the garden and I retired back to bed exhausted, had to have my breakkie brought up after that rude awakening............
