Don't worry too much about your coat, like they said most people buy without knowing it is real fur. If I were you I would not wear it again, you will now be far more aware of the fur when you buy any other items that could be real so don't beat yourself up about it.

What good will not wearing it do? It seems it was bought in all innocence. Not wearing it won't bring back the cat will it? The main thing is that the programme will have made people more aware of what we are buying. If the demand is not there for fur products the manufacturers will not produce them. Then the animals won't die in order for them to be made. That is the point.

I understand of course if your conscience won't allow you to wear it any more. Don't beat yourself up though, you weren't to know!

Shez and purplegirluk1 - there's only one way to become a long term regular and that's to put the virtual kettle on, make yourself at home and keep posting :D

And there's no need to post every day :D

I know some other OS-ers have met each other in person, but I haven't yet met up in person with anybody from MSE, even though I live less than 20 mins walk from Penny-Pincher!! and not much further from ivyleaf and Katgoddess. That will of course change at the Old Style Blackpool Meet which starts TWO WEEKS TOMORROW :D:D :j :j

(PS purplegirluk1, I think of you as a regular too :D even though I sometimes get you confused with purpleprincess! :o)

Oh by the way I noticed on the forum statistics this morning that it's MonkeyGirl's birthday! Happy birthday MonkeyGirl! :bdaycake:

Yes Chickadee I was talking about a choice based on conscience, I personally could not wear an item that I had realised was real fur and I felt that Kittie was suggesting that she felt the same way. It may not bring the animal back but it will stop at least one more person from buying fur that has come from domestic animals kept in inhumain conditions.

Anyway, I don't want to get on my soap box about that in here, once I get started I find it hard to stop :o

Thanks BargainRzl, its nice to here that you think of me a a regular  I too live near another OSer and have actually had something from Freecyle from her but we have never met. I love posting on here though, its such a nice community.

  • Hi All, i'm a regular lurker, though I did post on the 'open day'. I enjoy reading about your day and so will try to post as often as I can.

Back to w**k today after nearly 2 weeks off and I am really wishing I was still off.

Chickadee - I am also growing courgettes and tomatoes plus many other veggies and fruit. I usually grow tomatoes but have not grown courgettes for many years. This year however I decided to try to grow as much as I can. Has anyone grown broad beans before? How much support do they need?

Breakfast - croissant and HM plum and pear jam
Lunch - tuna and sweetcorn salad, yoghurt
    Tea - fish and chips.
  • Afternoon everybody!

    Hope we're all well.

Boring day for me today, am at w**k and got some revision to do tonight, but that is coming on quite well!! Feel very motivated this time round (notice how I said this time round!!! )

Been trying to up my walking so walked home at lunchtime! 15 minutes each way. Walked last night along the beach, that was nice! That's the advantage of living by the seaside!!! :p Love it!

This site, particularly Old Style and DFW have really inspired and motivated me, they have helped me soooooo much. Thanks peeps!! And I am slowly starting to feel like a bit of a regular now, felt awkward posting to begin with as I felt like I had nothing interesting to post and that a little community had already been established, but thank you for making me feel very welcome!

    Brekkie was porridge
Lunch was/is (currently eating it!) HM soup with some oatcakes
Dinner will be leftover pasta bake from last night with salad

How old style is my menu for today! :rotfl:

I wonder if any old stylers live near me???

Hope we all have a good day, take care, chat soon

A productive morning in the house of Pooky!

Little one's fast asleep, ironing is all done and up to date, 12 banana muffins and one banana cake (made in the BM) cooling on the rack. (reciepes from the index)

We've bounced, we've played, we've mixed and we've been out to see the horses in the field over the road......think I could do with a nap now!

Just enough time for a cup of tea and a sit down before it's time to get DD's from school and start the tea.
