Morning everyone.
Weather here is dry but overcast. I don't think we'll make it through the day without a shower.
Wow, my courgette seeds have sprouted. BIG STYLE! What robust little plants they will be. I have heard on this board that people had more courgettes than they knew what to do with last year but hey, if they keep on like this I'll be over-run with them. Tumbling tom tomatoes have also sprung into life. Yay, fantastic! There will be a crop in the house of chickadee this summer!! :rotfl:
Am off all week as this is the second week of the Easter hols for DS. He slept at a friend's house last night so I haven't seen him yet this morning.
Guinea pigs are fed, towels were washed last night and I have a lovely loaf just out of the breadmaker. I organised my three (full) washing baskets last night whilst watching the Apprentice. I now have one and a half after sorting out all the non-iron stuff. It had started taking over the place!
If today is bright |I will take some piccies of items I need to put on ebay. I might as well do them now whilst I have a bit of time.
I go back to w**k next wednesday so by then April will nearly be finished. Then I only have two more months to work before I finish working my notice. Then it is FREEDOM! I plan to have summer off and then maybe look for a job later in the year. If I don't do it I will always regret not having done it and as Squeaky says, "Nobody ever says, on their death bed, 'I wish I had spent more time in the office!'"
Right, I need to do something interesting with some chicken breasts and a slow cooker. Any ideas anyone? I had a look on the recipe index but wasn't inspired.

Morning everyone
Been awake since my normal time of 6:15 although its my day off. I am like this at weekends as well and sometimes would love a bit of a lie in but my body just gets used to it.
Have already done one load of washing and a bit of tidying up. Picking my mum up at 9:30 to go to the supermarket.
Also need to go to the Post Office - have a parcel and some DVD's from a free trial to return. Have a plumbers bill to pay as well and he lives just next door to the Postie so will pop there too and get that out of the way.
Thats me just having to throw out the Mothers Day flowers I got from my step-son. I think thats about 4 weeks - not made for a £3 bunch from Scotmid - he left the HUGE price sticker on them so I couldn't help but notice the price! They lasted longer than the chocs - they were gone by about 10am on Mothering Sunday!
Dunno what to have for dinner but apple_mint mentioned mushroom omlettes and that sounds yum and I have some eggs that need using.
Had a huge list of other things that needed doing but now can't find the list. Do you think that means I don't need to do them?!?
Well gotta go and get ready as still in pyjamas!
Bye for now.0 -
Hello again, am in paradise...sarcastic euphamism for w***. The atmosphere is a bit sour, not sure what has happened but there has been nothing but grumpy grunts all round. V.unpleasant indeed, specially when it's not at all necessary. The management haven't helped by making people sit with their backs to each other - ha ha, they have a big poster on the wall called "Communication" and another one called "Teamwork". They should get another one called "Plonkers".
Chickadee, congrats on your greenfingered success. It is just a simple thing growing things, but oh the satisfaction to see those little shoots poking up out of the soil...and the pleasure of eating your own home grown food is just fantastic. Congratulations as well on leaving your job...I don't know the story behind this, but I am madly jealous that you're going to have the whole summer to yourself.
Bargain Rzl...has that person at work had a shave yet? He might turn into one of the blokes out of ZZ Top, then he won't be quite such a distraction. There's a cute bloke here too...just the one...said hello to him yesterday and he looked the other way and didn't reply. So much for that.
Gotta go and do some w*** I suppose, but would much rather run screaming from the building, go home and go back to bed and hide.:eek:0 -
Morning all
SnowyOwl - well done on the walk. The weather was glorious here yesterday aft - perfect for a stroll
apple_mint - morning
ageandjo - doggie cake??
Prudent - enjoy your swim. All this talk of exercise is motivating me to go to the gym again tonight.
Penny-Pincher - presume you've now been jabbed, stabbed & are ready to face the world. Enjoy the haircut.
Smokey112 - Going out on your Mum's birthday is a really nice thing to do. Hope it's a celebration
FunkyFairy - you're doing a fair bit of exercise today too, 4 mile walk in the rain??!! lovely! My rabbit used to live inside, you just get used to the sawdust everywhere after a while LOL
Chipps - Ah, the old "disguise it in a soup" technique! Works everytime
Shez - course you should post. We need to know how much of the Virgin wine you have drunk already?
Catowen - make the most of your me-time this afternoon
AussieLass - blimey, just reading your post made me feel tired! Slow down woman!
chickadee - I too have 2 chicken breasts defrosting & no inspiration as to what to do with them. Depends if I canbe bothered to nip out to the veg shop later.
Hello to everyone I've cross posted with - It's taken me ages to type this up in between several phone calls & a mini crisis at one of my sites. Just call me a "multi-tasker"
Have a huge work to-do list today, so I must not spend hours mooching round here!
See you later :wave:0 -
Shez - Click Here for the rolls.
Quiet day for me today - only one little one - he's currently engrossed in the lego box. Going to use up the 10 bananas that have gone manky, banana and walnut cake and some muffins me thinks - he can help mix.
Loads of ironing to do during nap time and if I'm lucky it wont rain and I'll get some drying done.
Brekkie - Toasted rolls
Lunch - Fruit for me - cheese rolls for everyone else
Dinner - Quiche I think - lots of peppers and toms to use up but no meat...served with pasta as I'm out of potatoes and refuse to go shopping until tomorrow.
Need to have a surf around for a new bed later - just transfered my tesco cc vouchers into mfi deals tokens for a new mattress, have £320 worth so should be able to get a decent one.

morning everyone
I tossed and turned last night after seeing the Heather and Paul Mcartney programme about fur. It was horrendous seeing how the dogs and cats in china were treated. That poor alsation getting skinned alive and the crates packed full of animals dropped on the ground from a truck. The cats killed by bashing them on the ground
I bought a cheap coat from ideal shopping years ago and it has a black fur trim. Apparently most of the trim from china comes from cats and it is very difficult to tell if it is real or fake but it is likely to be real. I had a look at my coat this morning and it was made in china and the trim could very well be cat. I am just so upset. It must have taken a whole black cat
I can`t think of anything else at the moment but I think I`ll look up the humane society to see if I can help a bit
Its hard to take my mind off it just now especially since I am hand feeding an old dog who has lost her appetite
Anyway must get the housewifely jobs done now0 -

Morning all :hello:
Got home after midnight last night, logged on, and was kept up for a good hour or so by a bunch of chatty (and in some cases, p****d as a newt) Old Stylers on MSN Messenger(I shan't name names but if you spot a couple of regulars staggering into the daily thread later on looking a bit pale and sorry for themselves, you might draw some conclusions of your own
) and no, it wasn't Shez with her Virgin wine!
SnowyOwl - (senior) colleague still had the hunky beard yesterday, but isn't in the office today so won't be causing me any distraction
Shez - the only reason we seem like we all know each other is that most of us have been spending way too much time on here, for longer than you have. You shouldn't feel left out - don't know what everybody else thinks, but I already think of you as a regular!
chickadee - you just make sure you remember how many courgettes you planted, and make sure you harvest them all, or you'll end up with great big marrows jumping out and saying BOO!
All those asking about PP's & my local Sainsburys on yesterday's thread - closing time seems a bit random, but usually sometime between 10pm and 11pm! It's also a Shell station so they seem to close when they feel like it and just keep the petrol window open. As PP said, the bargain finding potential is very hit and miss but can be fabulous (and it's not worth even trying for bargains before about 9:30pm). It's the Sainsburys-come-Shell-garage on Bellegrove Road, Welling, DA16 (near Welling station) but hands off, it's ours
Busy day at work today but this evening should be a nice quiet one; will probably start it off by going for a (very quick) drink with XBF, then home to cook something for dinner and get the WM on.
Breakfast: Bacon roll and coffee (remember those things I was giving up)
Lunch: Chicken pasta bake
Dinner: Dunno yet. Got no veggies in the house so need to work out tonight's menu before I go home so I can pick something up from Lidl.
Catch you later

(((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs them, hope the hospital appointment goes ok PP.
OH wanted to cut the grass but thats on hold, it rained last night....... might do it later if it dries up.....
I have a problem,,,,,, I made two cushion covers, finished one on Monday night, had it in my hand yesterday, I want to pack them both up now I have finished the other one, can I find the first one?????? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have searched the house, thought it was in my sewing room but no sign of it, the remains of the fabric is there but no cushion cover!!!!!!!!GGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very frustrated.
Nothing really planned for today, apart of course from finding that cc......
I am a bit miffied with A & L, the stuff came from their so called bank yesterday, you cannot pay cheques in over the counter, but have to put them in an envelope and post them in a box, and they take 5 DAYS to clear, why??????? no explaination.... so it look like I will be staying with Lloyds TSB for now...........will have to post cheques in to them but if I get them in by 12 they get entered the next day.
It looks a little brighter outside so perhaps the rain is clearing........
See ya'll later.................
