    Morning all :hello:

Back at my lovely place of w**k now. The children all came back to school yesterday and it was a nightmare trying to settle them down. They're a little better today. We had a staff meeting last night and most of us were looking like zombies. Very motivating! I'd also forgotten how awful the head is. He makes David Brent sound like a motivating speaker............ :)

I have my "PPA" time today, which means that I've got some time away from my class - hence me typing on here! :D I thought I'd better quickly say hi.

News on my Grandpa was that he was supposed to be coming out of hospital yesterday. However, last night I was told that he's got an infection so he's not coming out yet. I'm really worried about it. I know that it happens, but it's still not nice is it?

I had to pop to Tesco last night and managed to get two punnets of strawberries for 25p each! I was very impressed! I'm getting a real trolley snob now, peering into other people's trollies disecting everything that they eat. The couple behind me had nothing but processed food. Although I'm not perfect, I did have loads of fruit and veg and items for baking. :A I only spent £25 :j :j which was quite impressive for me. We've lapsed slightly from our grocery challenge, but not too badly. I hopefully won't be kicked out of OS! ;):D OH will spend a little bit in the staff shop tomorrow, but it never seems to come to more than £3. :j :D

    Morning!

Not posted for a few days.. completely fell off the wagon... and then got left about 3 miles behind and really need to spend today running after it to catch up and jump back on! :rotfl: Had a good natter with my mum last night and realised im feeling a tad depressed.... need to really try and sort things out before it becomes a bit more than a tad!

Anyways.... today i shall TRY and regain some order in my house.. i need to go buy some gas and electric as in emergency credit for both! Boo!! Also need to go the greengrocers as im all outta decent fruit n veg! Except for the punnet of plums i got reduced to 50p in sainsburys the other day... (along with 500g of turkey mince for 35p!! :j - dunno what to do with it. but :rotfl: ) Discovered my sainsburys must do silly 2nd reductions about 7:30-8pm... there were pots of potato and leek soup down to 9p a tub!! But i dont like it so had to leave it for someone else

Thats my cast-iron plans...... other things "mulling" in my head but wont commit myself just yet! Cos knowing me lately i wont get them done! :o

    Good day everyone

Sorry folks...this post is in reply to an earlier post but is a bit gruesome...skip if animal cruelty upsets you

Kittie, I saw your post, and am so glad I currently don't have a television - this programme would have given me nightmares too. I saw something similar several years ago about S.Korea and they treated animals in a similar fashion - eg skinning a cat by dipping it into boiling water then removing the skin while it was still alive - the poor animal even had its eyes popped out when it was still quivering after the skin was peeled off. I still want to puke at the thought of it. This country isn't quite so bad of course, at least there is some attempts to quash animal cruelty, but when you hear of pet cats and dogs just disappearing it does make you wonder what happens to them. There is the horror of (illegal) dog-fighting and the "bait" needed for training the fighting animals. It is horrendous to torture an animal in such a way - it is possible to humanely kill them for whatever part of them is required, but the pain and torture imposed is simply not necessary.

Kittie - if you find a link for the Humane Society would you mind posting it as I'd like to see what they have to say, and if I can help somehow.

    morning everyone

I tossed and turned last night after seeing the Heather and Paul Mcartney programme about fur. It was horrendous seeing how the dogs and cats in china were treated. That poor alsation getting skinned alive and the crates packed full of animals dropped on the ground from a truck. The cats killed by bashing them on the ground

I bought a cheap coat from ideal shopping years ago and it has a black fur trim. Apparently most of the trim from china comes from cats and it is very difficult to tell if it is real or fake but it is likely to be real. I had a look at my coat this morning and it was made in china and the trim could very well be cat. I am just so upset. It must have taken a whole black cat

I can`t think of anything else at the moment but I think I`ll look up the humane society to see if I can help a bit

Its hard to take my mind off it just now especially since I am hand feeding an old dog who has lost her appetite

Anyway must get the housewifely jobs done now

Morning all. :) Just thought I'd pop in and say hi.

Not much going on in the mossy household today the rain is doing my nut in and making me feel S.A.D. despite the fact that bbc and met office weather say its sunny I beg to differ.

My postman arrived today minus my tenancy agreement for my allotment, trial glasses and soapnuts so there wasn't anything exciting to look at. The lady at the council must have figured out by now that I'm a bit of an eager beaver and want the plot asap so I'm hoping the agreement will arrive tomorrow otherwise I'll phone her and ask to go to the council offices and sign it tomorrow as I really want to be 'officially allowed' onto my plot by the weekend even though I can't do much until they rotavate it for me at least I can start to plan it more.

Woke up to the smell of freshly baked wholemeal bread this morning yum :p and have cleaned the kitchen. I need to tidy up the front room and dinning room table then thats me done for the day but haven't got much motivation at present. I am seeing my friend from the states this afternoon although not sure where we are going to go as the weather is bad but still I am really looking forward to have a good chat and catch up so that will be nice. :)

D - not sure yet maybe real chicken nuggets and chips.

Have a good day everyone. :A

We found the council incredably slow in sending out our agreement for the allotment too, we ended up going into town, signing the agreement and picking up the kay so we could get the plot rotovated before the winter.... wonder if its the same council????? Don't think so, your in Lincs we are in Leics......

I know tootles, I sent the allotment officer an email asking for site details and vacancies and it took a week to send it out to me, although I appreciate that they may well have more important things to do. I went to see the sites as soon as I got my pack on Thursday (after checking it was okay) and I phoned at just gone 4pm last Thursday and she had finished for the holidays and didn't get back until yesterday. I would have thought that its fairly quick and easy to send out a tenancy agreement as she said the invoice etc is dealt with seperately but we will see. I think I'll probably have to do the same as you though and phone after postie has been tomorrow and if it hasn't arrived I'll go to the offices and sign the form and get the key.

Another frustrating thing is that they can't book my plot to be rotavated until I've signed the paperwork and even then it could be up to 28 days *roll eyes*. I guess its a case of when its a simple thing that needs doing its frustrating that it takes so long to get done but then maybe she has a very big work load.

Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow and I'm praying that my plot will be rotavated really quickly as well. :)

  • Morning everyone from an office window in a grim looking Nottingham

Already had a walk out of the office this morning and spent £35  luckily it wasn't my own money :p one of the girls is leaving today so I was on the gift buy.

Did something for the first time ever this morning......... Made some toast before I left for work, how terrible is that  I usually end up buying something from w**k but I decided that I have time to pop the toast in toaster whilst I do my hair etc. I feel really bad that I haven't done this before at my age...

Still the start of things to come!! May also have to start and put the coffee machine on and take a cup with me!

Hope the hospital appointment went well PP.

Breakfast was Potted meat on toast - mmmmmm
Lunch is Cheese and marmite on brown with strawberries, cashews and a nana
    Tea is at mums :p

Didn't get in last night until 20:30 so didn;t make any cheese scones, really must make the effort to do some later!

Take care all and have a lovley afternoon

  • Hello

Back from hospital and having hair cut. Am very happy with style and it would have cost nought but bought a styling product:o never mind, it still only cost £9 for a wash, cut, blowdry and coffee including a tip:D normal price for this would of cost £35:eek: so thanks to the original OP for the thread resulting in this.

We have the cars MOT this afternoon and am dreading it....please everybody keep everything crossed as we dont have funds to pay for any major work ATM. Also have the car insurance next month.

Anyway getting nagged by OH to rest.
    See ya

    Morning all,

Its quite an overcast day here, I haven't done anything yet, I got up at half 10 which really pleased me as I needed he sleep!

SnowyOwl - Your always up so early, I feel guilty sleeping in so long!

Prudent - Your kittens sound like a joy! My little one is eight months old and still manages to get herself into all kinds of situations. She has been playing with a box and some bubble wrap this morning!!

PP - I hope that the hospital went well and that your hair appointment has given you a bit of pampering and makes you feel relaxed.

Shez - I think its just that a few people have posted on here for a long time and post every single day, I too feel a bit like I shouldn't be here and a bit left out sometimes but I carry on anyway! I think some people have met up but not everyone

AussieLass - Why don't you try green tea or herbal tea? No caffine and they taste yummy.

Lucie - I am impressed with your multi tasking, I find that if I try to do more than one thing at a time I just feel like i'm being rushed and then I get stressed.

Kittie - I watched that awful programme too, mostly from behind my hands as it was so disturbing! I don'y eat meat or use animal products so i feel very strongly about the issues raised in the programme. Don't worry too much about your coat, like they said most people buy without knowing it is real fur. If I were you I would not wear it again, you will now be far more aware of the fur when you buy any other items that could be real so don't beat yourself up about it.

VickyA - Your head sounds like the opposite of ours, mine talks as if he has swallowed a motivational speakers manual but just ends up speaking in riddles and knowone understands him!

I have a list as long as my arm of things that need doing and I will start to plough through them when OH gets off to work at 2 I think, he acan't stand being tidied around!

I need to put the left over shepherds pie in a tub for OH's pack up and then get something on for my tea.

Oh I need motivation today!!!! Never mind I am sure if I really need to do things I will get there in the end. I have my evening class later on so must get sorted for that. Need to pop to the post office too with a few parcels.

Well I hope everyone has a lovley day (((((((Hugs)))))))) to everyone needs them!
