Well, so much for my day of freedom now the kids are back at school! DH has also got a days overtime and the house is empty but the weather is so foul out there I am not moving from the house and stuff doing the garden.
I'm actually missing the kids and the noise
Meant to say that DS got the all clear from the hospital yesterday and has been told he can start using his bike again so now I have to go and get it from the bike shop, that's at least £25 down the drain. Him and bikes are a complete drain on my purse, he's always breaking somthing or other on them.
DH won't be home until 9.30pm so it's just me and the kids for tea and I fancy chipsOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi to everyone - lots of people to meet and make friends with :j
Back to w**k for me today after the BH weekend and off sick yesterday. Really busy here, anyone would think that i'd been off for a fortnight not a day
Made sandwiches last night for lunch today, really must make an effort to do it as it will save me so much money in the long run!

Have taken Chilli out of the freezer for tea - leftovers from a few weeks ago - never remembered to do this until I joined OS!! Plus frees up more room for other bargins!
Breakfast - none existant but did eat my Smartie egg muffin (hunger struck!)
Lunch - Cheese and shallot sandwiches on brown, Cashew nuts chopped strawberries apple and an orange
Dinner - Chilli, rice and Garlic dough balls
May make cheese scones when I get home depending if i have the baking head on

I can't remember quite how I did it,but somewhere, somehow, I managed to find something that made 40 posts to a page - so at least you would only have had to work your way through 3 pages!
Maybe someone with more expertise on such matters can tell you (and me) where that can be done.
Go to Personal messages - Editi options and about 1/2 the way down is an option to edit posts on one thread - this can be changed to a maximum of 40!It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0 -
Hi everyone!
Been a few days since I was around as have had a few days off work which I really enjoyed. Easter was fab although busy because it was my parents ruby wedding and we cooked them a special meal. We made the Easter gateau out of the current Tesco mag and was really pleased with how it turned out.
Am back at work now so back here aswell! Been reading the thread on Stardrops. That looks an interesting product so might have to have a nose in Wilkos on my way home.
Fairly busy today as am on my own here and there are normally 3 of us. Frantically dashed around washing floors and sorting out washing etc etc before I left the house but OH is doing the school runs for me. Have got parents evening later though.....
Shall be updating the accounts tonight then digging out my stitching as I'd like to get my dollshouse carpet finished and installed.

Hi all
here I am making another of my rare appearances. Sorry if I have lost touch with people's on-going lives, but sending hugs to anyone who needs them and I read that a few people are having some good news, that's great! I have a really bad memory so I would need to make notes to say things to people individually, please don't mind if I do this hugging and congratulatings 'collectively'!
First day back at w***, could not get into gear at all after nearly 2 weeks off (after a very stressful March doing the end of year payments and accounts *GROAN*).
I was meant to be in Venice for my holidays but the last day before departure I discovered that my passport was expired. I thought that my husband would kill me but then he discovered that HIS passport was expired too! *RELIEF* hehehehe.
So I found a bargain hotel in the Isle of Wight instead (£17.25 pp per night inc full breakfast), and booked for 1 week. Basic room, but with own bathroom, kettle, tv, so no complaints there, breakfast was very repetitive, esp. being vegetarian and not being able to vary the 'eggs and baked beans' theme, but we had a great time walking along the coast!
I have spent much more than I can afford and now have a £700-shaped hole in my credit card (just from the holidays!). With some luck, £250 will be refunded by the French train company for the cancellation of our Paris-Venice-Paris tickets, but I was told it takes a month, and I had to send the tickets back via courier, which cost me £25!!! The money for the Eurostar London-Paris-London unfortunately was lost, as it was the Telegraph 2 for 1 offer and non-refundable. Ah well...
So I need to be extra careful with the money, I was planning to give up one of my jobs at the end of April (2 months notice would mean I would finish just in time for a nice w**k-free summer in July!) but it is not advisable to do so until I have at least repaid the credit card debt.
This also means that I shall have to be Extra-Careful with money on the OS meet in a couple of weekends' time!
Meanwhile, the good news is that I still have a lot of Euro which I had bought for Venice so I am taking the family to Amsterdam for 4 nights at the end of May, to go and see the Caravaggio and Rembrandt exhibition. The kids are doing Art A' Levels so it should be good for them (DS thinks he is going to be able to get drugged up at the weed cafes but I know that they are very strict with age restrictions so he is going to be disappointed on that one - I hope!!!). We are going by coach and travelling in the night so we save money and add a couple of days to our holiday, staying in a cheap Christian hostel where booze and drugs are not allowed so with some luck we will not be surrounded by stoned/pi**ed teenagers (hopefully).
So basically at the moment we are living on pasta and tomato sauce these days, using up last year's rocket salad, now well overgrown, as green vegetable - boiled and dressed with oil and lemon it tastes very nice! Just as well I have a stock of beans and grains to see us through to the end of April. Once we both get paid and I get the cheque from my other job, we can breathe again.
Planning the next holiday always cheers me up, but it also throws me in a state of despair regarding my finances!
Breakfast: Wholemeal roll with ricotta
Lunch: Peas and noodle soup
Dinner: Lentil soup and tomato&rocket salad
Love to all
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Aril you have a dolls house too then? I love mine but it's only since DD started school that I've had the time to get on with it.
DD1 bought it for me 3 years ago for my birthday, I was recovering from breast cancer and I'm sure she thought I was on the way out as she'd never have spent that much money normally
We have a fantastic shop in the docks here, it's far cheaper than anywhere else I have found although Mum does get me a few bits from the shop in Bourton on the Water when she makes her annual trip thereOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi Moggins
Yes OH made it for me 12 years ago. It was featured in one of the dh mags in March. It's still under construction as OH started to make the dh furniture as a business when he was made redundant. However, I still get to choose what he makes and I always get the prototype! I find it brings me pleasure and I love nothing better than to potter around with it if I'm feeling stressed. I enjoy cross stitch and making the carpets for it although it takes me for ever by the time I've undone it several times!!

Moggins....you sound like you need a Hug hun...so Im sending a virtual one to you.(((((((((((((((((Moggins)))))))))))))))))
SIL has just been dropped off by OH on way picking DD up from school. All ironing done and some other jobs:D
Whilst the jacket spuds were finishing off in the oven at lunchtime, OH put the chicken into cook which he bought cheapily last night for dinner today IYSWIMWe're having a mini roast dinner tonight so will pop the Quiche into cook when the roasties and possibly yorkies are in and economise with the electric;)
Have made a list of food and other bits we need to get ready to take friday, but am taking as few clothes as possible for us all and have done a meal plan for the 3 nights we are there, although we are having a take away one night-if it looks ok that is, or may see what locals there are. Thought Spagbol would be easy to make with garlic bread one night, then the other day take a chicken and do a small roast dinner then use the left over chicken in either a sarnie or salad the next day. Must also remember to take a cloth, stardrops:eek: loo roll, blackbag and a towel each.
Had a phonecall today from Vice president of the firm I used to work for, asking if I would be interested in taking on some work at home. Explained I couldnt because of being ill, although I would love too. He asked that I call him first when Im ready and he would make it worth my while:beer: Its cheered me up knowing that I am of use to someone.
Anyway, got to go as DD has just come in and looks abit miffed.
See Ya
