but morally they should not be able to get away with such abusive behaviour..
you are all right, that they should be happy to have an extra customer but they dont care, they prob get enough from the local shops..
my sis suggested printing the postage online and then putting it in their sacks showing them you no longer want to use them.. but of course that takes up ink and paper, and for small amounts it is not worth it...
great to hear that some POs are lovely and take the parcels and charge you later, makes me feel that there are nice people...
ps like the idea of the dragons den!!
ironically mine says gifts 4 you above the door but they are just selling tat and no newspapers, not even stationary and this one womans just sits there in the shop.. you would think that they want to increase their customers?
i still feel that they should not get away with something like this... any suggestions anayone?? anyone done something similar?
Hi there, if you have any parcels 2Kg or more, I recommend a service that not only is cheaper, but they will collect it free of charge. If this women acts this way, I wonder how many other customers she's being rude to and its a matter of time before people start avoiding them.

I use online postage at royalmail.com. You just need a decent pair of weighing scales. When you've put on all the postage print out a proof of posting for each one and then take them to the same post office. They have to stamp and initial the proof of posting, but they are not getting your business.

Many years ago the owners of my local po retired and a pair of dragons took over. They in turn were gone within a year or two and we were told that the po was "taken off them" due to the high level of complaints made against them. I've no idea if that was true but only if people complain will anything change!0

My local Post Office Man is awful & has made me cry before.
Its a shame as my community fought really hard to get a post office re-instated after our last one closed down, unfortunately the family who run it need a good course in Customer Care
Made you cry? That's awful. If that happened to me I would be making a very strong complaint to Royal Mail and never ever going to that post office again. What did he do?0 -

As my post said - that's what I do. It seems to infuriate them even further, resulting in my parcels getting manhandled and if looks could kill....No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!
Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target

My local Post Office Man is awful & has made me cry before.

sorry to hear you had a bad experience too...i have complained to royal mail.. but from they way they were when i was upset i can only bet that if contacted that they will only lie.. they had no remorse for their action and were just being awkward for the sake of it..
on the plus side a local coffee shop owner said he has heard similar many times from his customers and i have urged him to tell his customers to at least complain to royal mail if nothing else.. a little will go a long way...
i do not think that i am being OTT to contact a local paper as in the plight to save our postoffices everyone has forgotten that we need a certain level of service from them too. I have been quite general and congratulated the nicer post office but indicated inconsistancies are there in the other surrounding areas and stated the level of disdain received by ebayers when they are the ones that are keeping the Rm going. they were quite interested that in this economic climate, there would be PO that behaves in such a manner..
thanks for all the support to everyone.. dont feel so alone in this now..
i had to find out if it was me or if they are rude to ebayers as general
will definately do the postage online when i have to go to the crappy one, but i will avoid them and go to the nicer one now..i do not mind naming them. It is the one in HARROW-THEY ARE BRILLIANT, never grumpy always helpful and very jolly and smile. They are so busy that they have queues out of teh door but they have excellent customer service.. would recommend them to anyone..
thanks all0 -
i was wondering what experiences people who sell things on ebay or other sites have had with their local post offices???
I have an issue with my local one and i am not too sure what to do about it and would appreciate advice and opinion from you lovable folk..
i used to have the choice of 2 post offices one sub and the main one about a mile away, the sub postoffice was great, went out of his way for you and gave me proof of posting without having to ask he had a lovely manner with everyone, now theyve been closed down ive been forced to use the main one, and the service is horrendous especially by the bloke in charge, hes so arrogant, once i was in a long queue it got to my turn and he was just sat there as i walked up, got to the counter and he said in a loud voice, OH IM NOT READY FOR YOU YET, it was so humiliating as i slunk to the back of the queue, i wish now i had said something, since found out hes like it with alot of people.0 -

I would have said that you are only entitled to the receipt once you have paid for the service. When did you pay once all the items had been weighed and the cost of postage calculated?
That would then mean you would have to pay for each item individually.
However, with customer service like that they are certainly doing their bit to shorten the queues.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Agreed. Given that the Royal Mail is in trouble and less and less ppl are using the postal service,I think that they should be thanking Ebayers who help keep the counter staff and delivery staff in work.wigglebeena wrote: »Appropriate response: that's fine, you can do without my blimmin' custom in future. Hi, He made me cry when I was pregnant (I was so embarrassed that I cried - but was able to blame it on the hormones).
I was trying to send a parcel to Australia (before I did ebay) & didnt know what I needed to fill in etc. He made me feel like I was about 10 cm tall with his remarks & shot me down when I couldnt see what form he was talking about - then it turned out that there wasnt any of these so called forms on display anyway! I ended up throwing a wobbler & walking out crying!0
