These will be the same Post Offices that are up in arms and begging for our support when they get threatened with closure !

To be fair, mine is pretty good, with the added advantage of having Basil Fawlty as the Manager, but there is another local one that is awful.

They need to realise that eBay sellers money is as good as anyone elses, and that they are a public service. Perhaps when the Germans take over (the Post Office, not the Country) there will be a bit more help.

    2) I thought post offices wanted people to use them so that they don't get closed down?.

Our village PO is fab, always quite & such a nice man running it.

He makes a point of touting for business (in a friendly way), he always says IF I can provide it come here, to keep the PO open:D:D:D

    Anything I can do there, I do:D

True, another shop owner did saythat they nearly closed last year or thereabouts...so why treat people like that.. i have seen her be nice to others..

as for giving them to her seperately i was nt asking her to put each packet and payment through seperately, merely asking for a seperate receipt for each and it is all paid together at the end, in one go.. as always. meanwhile all the receipts are printed as she puts each packet through so it is no skin off her nose to pass it to me as she gives me the postage sticker for the parcel.. but she was being very awkward and that is what upset me the most as it was very personal and rude and unprofessional..

tyzer 2001 - sorry to hear about your PO, i think you should complain at least to royal mail, in fact if everyone who has a bad experience made sure it was logged with HO then i think HO would encourage their staff to retain ebayers?
  • there quite a few po in my town and i use my local one which is inside a co-op ad then theres the big one in town.

and good god i hate them! there always sooo bloody miserable and rude and lazy and unhelpful:mad::mad::mad:

the one old bag even tutted at me the one day when i went up to the counter with a couple of parcels. i could have punched her......nah not really!:rotfl:

one day i went to my local po with a few parcels that id done the prepay postage from paypal on, and she said to me

''you bloody ebayers with your prepay postage you trying to get me out of a job?!''

i laughed but inside i DESPERATLY wanted to go ''yeah well actually i do cos your a right pain in my @rse!!!''

at work i have to post quite a few parcels everyday and we use the business prepay rm thingy so all the po workers have to do is scan (as there all recorded) and stamp my book and omg you'd think that i just asked them run a bloody marathon or something!

the one day whilst i was waiting for them to finish fannying around i said

''i hate this, i do all the work on the laptop before hand and now i have to stand here while you do it all over again''
and she the sourfaced bint said
'' i dont care i bet i hate it more than you''!!!

sorry for the language but i HATE it! i would just love for one person to be nice and kind and helpful to me! and before you say it im never nasty until they do it to me first!

    rant over!:rotfl:

i have THE best PO, all the ladies and 1 man are so nice to me and my family (my 2 Ds got some chocolates for xmas) nothing is too much trouble,

Personally if they want to play stinky then I would do simliar to someone above has suggested but be a bit more mean, take each parcel to the desk, weigh it etc and then pay, queue back up and repeat the process.

dont take your custom elsewhere, you know you are in the right, next time point out that you are putting a lot of business through their till and a bit of manners from the 'woman of a certain age' wont go amiss!!

Both my local post offices are fantastic. If I apologise for so many parcels they say I am helping to keep them open. One also gives me a scissors to cut off excess plastic if I am I am about 20g into the next postal band.
  • so .. would i be right in thinking that if i print my postage from the internet at royal mail, i still have to get it stamped at the counter?.. but none of the proceeds go to that post office?:T

so all i need from them is proof of postage?

so they do the work but do not get the proceeds:D

I went to my local Asda with my last lot, all paypal paid postage and I had an Ikea bag full of them, DVD's and books.

I wrote the numer 1 on the top left corner of the parcel and the number of the proof of postage printout as well, and so on for the next 35 parcels.

It was quick and easy, and I got a thank you in the end.

However, I can see what they are going thru, 1/2 an hour work for not a penny. I suppose it would be like going into 1 shoip buying lots of stuff and going to the next shop and asking them to pack it into bags for you.!

I actually go past 3 PO every day to get to the fourth as they make my life so much easier.

I drop in anything from 1-2 envelopes to 5 big boxes of parcels and a list containing names and he deals with it adding the prices paid to my list which he keeps for me.

Any special instructions like first class or recorded I write on the envelope which he covers with the sticker.

he rings me at the end of every week or so to let me know what I owe him.

His customer service is the reason I go past the busy main sorting office the grumpy very local place and the other which I've never tried.

I would hate it if they shut him down!
