My very tiny (newly local) post office/corner shop manned by 1 guy is lovely. A very sweet man.

The bigger post offices (live in London so many) are awful. Really rude. It doesnt matter whether you have 1 parcel, changing money, buying stamps. They are horrible.

If after work I need to post a few items they always roll their eyes then say "How many?! Im near my break!" Followed by a few more tuts & rolling of eyes.
If I've had a very difficult day at work I can really feel my blood boil. You try to be polite & they are even more rude. Last time I was in there they made me so mad I was just rude back to them & made a point in mentioning that they are not doing voluntary work, it doesnt matter how many parcels I have. Im the customer.

Its a really depressing place. They are rude to everyone. It seems like they are all related to each other & are even ruder to any black customers. Its infuriating.

One time a guy who couldnt read or write wanted help with his envelope. He was really embarrassed & they just shouted in disbelieve, "You cant read or write" really loudly. Poor guy

Im lucky that I've got my nice tiny local post office

I don't know why they don't just allocate us a local office where we could go just for Ebay sellers, surely there are enough of us to warrant it.

Mind you , not sure I would want to be behind some of you volume sellers in the queue :rotfl:

I don't know why you people go to these places?! I filled in a Royal Mail questionaire ages ago about various ways to help Ebayers and they all seemed good idea. Like dropping off a bag of parcels and a list of how each parcel was to be sent or a dedicated Ebay counter. Not sure if any post offices are trailling this but the amount of custom Ebay generates Post Offices surley the main post offices at least could provide some kind of special service?

We go because we don't have a choice. In the past few years, three of my local post offices have closed, and I now have one small one that is 3 miles away and I use that one. I have tried posting in one of the main post offices, and thought I was going to get lynched by the huge queue.

I'm doing this tomorrow - dropping off some parcels and some cash and collecting the change on the way home - because my PO is only part-time and my kids have activities I need to take them to all morning. Bit nervous, because the postmistress isn't the brightest spark (like she doesn't know that Belfast IS in the UK) but it sure beats going to the one in town later.

i'm sooo sorry to hear that some PO staff can be rude to ebay sellers. I'm really lucky that i have a fantastic post offce just beside my work. its a tiny branch run by a father/daughter team and they are fab! They even help me squish my parcels down to fit in the large letter slot lol
However, the local post office which is a stones throw from my flat is a nightmare - not rude at all, just SLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWWWW
guess it just comes down to luck at the end of the day, who serves you. but customer service shouldnt come down to luck!
