does anyone get abuse from the post office as an ebay seller?

I have only been e-baying for a few weeks, and the first time i took some items to the PO near me, the woman asked very politely if in future i would buy the postage from them, rather than pre-printing, as they get paid for it, this i am happy to do as i still have to visit the PO to send them, and hopefully it will give much needed support to the local PO.Thankyou Sir Alex for 26 years0

hi... just wanted to let you know about the different experiences i have had sending things i have sold through ebay..
my local post office is 3 miles away, when i sold my 1st few items i went along with them and the very nice lady showed me how to fill in a postcard with adresses and postcodes, i fill this in at home and she then ticks the items off as she goes along and writes the postage beside each, stamps it and hands back along with the postage reciept. ( she gave me a bundle of the postcard so that i can fill them in at home as well.
the other post office i used ... well you get glared at for daring to bring in parcels - several times they have tried to not give back stamped cards to prove postage.. and seems strange how the postage for same size items is often dearer in that post office!! i have only used it a couple of times when my nice lady has her half day closing!! am now making sure that i dont post things on that day...
seems amazing in days when post offices are struggling to survive that you get a few unhelpful places!!"Aunty C McB-Wik"

Haven't read all posts but just wanted to say I have (not quite as bad as you) a similar experience at my local. Its just across the road so its really convenient.
I tend to only ebay every few months so I collect my sale worthy goods and do 20-30 items at one time. I always go in at quiet times but still get the eye rolling and stroppyness from the women and if I dare to ask for proof of postage there are the deep sighs (to a point that I don't ask anymore). So I now go in and just do 6 parcels at a time to make it easier for them but I can still see their faces drop when I walk through the door
.
The thing is, what other industry would get away with treating their customers like they are doing you a huge favour or your custom is too much trouble for them? I'm sure not all post offices are like this but I bet most of us have had bad experiences at one time or another.0 -
My local PO is fantastic and by god are they quick when there is a queue.Terms & Conditions Apply0

I used to get glared at, which is why I've taken to buying stamps online., weighing and writing out the CoP at home, and then taking them in to the PO to be stamped and dated. The only things I have to Q for are the Recorded or Special, as I no longer send international.0

Pop in next time you have a batch to do, let 'em get an eyeful and then explain that you'll be taking them elsewhere as you don't like to bother them with business when it's clearly so much trouble. Hopefully the manager'll be around to hear you.
Then do it.0 -
My friend's sister came storming in today whilst I was at her house, all upset. From what I could hear, she was at the post office, exchanging for some euros for her holiday to spain on wednesday, and had used some sort of internet banking. She was practically crying - the woman at the post office had apparently been really rude to her and said that "people like her" are the reason why post offices and banks are shutting down, because she used internet banking or something.... Well, neither I nor my friend's family are ever going to that post office again.Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0

My local post office before i moved was fab - they had a big A2 sign in the window saying:
''ebayers welcome here''
They were always quick with sorting everything out, never moaned or grumbled. They welcomed the business, no matter how long the queue was behind you they never rushed you out of the door.
I never had a single parcel go missing from that PO and was never over charged as i did check weights before posting prices on ebay.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
My not-so-local PO is brilliant - it used to be on my way home from work and there were always queues as the Postmaster welcomed Ebayers - he was one himself and gave me lots of advice on Ebay/Amazon selling.
Its now out of my way (changed jobs), but I'd rather go there than to the main PO in town where they try to sell me credit cards/insurance/telephone/etc whilst a queue of 40 furious people builds up behind me! :rotfl:
Sorry so many people have trouble with their POs - you'd think they'd be glad of the extra business

The postmistress made me a cup of coffee today
And got me a chair lol. (She takes soooo long to process each and every parcel, but she's so lovely I don't mind!) They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0
