Appropriate response: that's fine, you can do without my blimmin' custom in future. BTW enjoy your redundancy notice.0 -

dont take your custom elsewhere, you know you are in the right, next time point out that you are putting a lot of business through their till and a bit of manners from the 'woman of a certain age' wont go amiss!!

I disagree. Take it elsewhere, and if enough people follow suit the rude old **** will be wishing she'd had better manners.0 -
However, I can see what they are going thru, 1/2 an hour work for not a penny. I suppose it would be like going into 1 shoip buying lots of stuff and going to the next shop and asking them to pack it into bags for you.!
Not really, because the staff are paid a salary by Royal Mail and you have paid Royal Mail for the stampsAnd if they weren't a Post Office, very many village shops etc would struggle to stay open without the PO salary coming in.

Local paper?! Just vote with your feet & go elsewhere! Most POs are so helpful, maybe if enough people stop using them then they may have a rethink! Bit OTT asking the local paper to do an article on them though....0

I go to a post office about 15 minutes away because not only are the helpful but also the lovely young lady behind the counter is dead cute and sexy!0

definatly write in the HO office and complain. I complained once about being humiliated and wrote in and got a onderful reply and free book of stamps and the cashier was reprimanded for her behaviour or better still get a hidden camera as evidence0

What on earth are Post Offices there for?
The clue is in the name!
If the person behind the counter doesn't want to ship parcels then they're in the wrong job.
I guess when you're sat on an uncomfortable chair with a pane of glass in front of you then you may get a bit stir crazy and start looking for fault, but it's only the customers that keep the place going.
You can now buy your road tax online and your stamps in the supermarkets, so what do you need the PO for?
Anybody in business knows that repeat customers are the ones you need - surely they should be welcoming you with open arms.0 -
My local Post Office Man is awful & has made me cry before.
Its a shame as my community fought really hard to get a post office re-instated after our last one closed down, unfortunately the family who run it need a good course in Customer Care0 -
I'm afraid I have only scanned this thread.
I opened an account so parcels went straight to sorting office and I bypassed the PO for similar reasons.
One thing you could do OP is get a COP pad and fill that in before you go. Might make life easier.0
