Hi
Sorry haven't been on but I thought I had subscribed to your diary, but obviously not.
I had a statement today from MBNA (A&L), the interest charged this time on over £7k is £96.22, next month my estimated interest is £116.70, I couldn't believe it. The total interest on each of my 7 cards over the last month is just over £268 - just interest, blimey if I didn't have any debts and was saving £268 a month I'd be rich by now. Definitely need to get this paid off.
I've re-registered as Self Employed as I've started selling on Ebay again as a Business, so I've bought some stock which is selling really well considering I didn't think it would at this time of the year, I'm not complaining though, I've been through all my auctions and added Best Offer option to them hoping to get some decent offers in.
I'm 41 next month and definitely need to sort something out re the debts, it's ridiculous, I know in years to come I will regret having to earn money and spending lots of time on the computer and will look back and wish I'd spent a bit more time doing things with the kids, we don't do much ie. go out anywhere as I don't have the money to pay for 3 of them to go to the cinema or to the Wacky Warehouse to play, so my aim is to try and pay off as much as I can before the Summer school holidays.
Just off to check my Euromillions as I haven't checked it yet.
Hope your daughter is OK and liked all her Xmas presents, my girls just leave their stuff lying about on the floor and it really annoys me as they got a Leapster 2 each (they were £25 each) and a Vtech Digital Camera which was about £34 each, I'd rather sell them on Ebay than have them broken as the baby (20 month old) keeps getting hold of them and dropping them.

hello all!! Hi TMD!!
not been posting recently but am back...went through a bit of a downer but have perked myself up again now!! the debt was still reducing but just had one of those moments where i thought it would never end!
back though and pleased to update my sig!! Am still looking to reduce debts by £20,000 by end of the year!! it would be amazing! Just been talking to OH and we have come along long way in terms of debt busting. We dont really have a definite figure of debt at its highest as we didnt really notice it until i started looking into it. BUT by roughly calculating how much we have paid off loans etc in the last 2years we can confidently say DEBT AT HIGHEST WAS AROUND 65-70K!! we are guessing this peak was around January 2008. So to think 2 years down the line and looking at 40k...its a great inspiration to keep going.
Month to month things are tight but we somehow get through and are no longer spending on credit. THIS IS A GREAT GREAT FEELING!!
Finally got lloyds to accept a 0% BT on my cc so have shifted debt from evil Virgin card :-) RESULT!!! 0% is only for 6 months but still better than a kick in the teeth, and a much lower APR than virgin anyway! So that turns 7 credit cards into 6!!
did start a second diary in the hope i would attract more readers but have crawled back to this one as it is my first one and i want to be loyal. I guess i want as many people reading it so they can see large amounts of debt can be chipped away at. It may be daunting (god knows month to month can be a struggle) but we are getting there.
Night Night for now xx0 -
Hi there
That is an amazing amount of debt to have paid off, wish I could say the same but I don't seem to be getting anywhere fast, have so much stuff to put on Ebay but just can't be bothered during the day, if I could concentrate on it for 4/5 hours at a time it would be so much easier but when the kids are school I still have DD3 at home.
I still have 7 cards and am trying to pay the highest APR first which is MBNA but unfortunately it is one of the ones with the highest amount owed, I owe a similar amount on Barclaycard but that is at 6.9% until paid off, I only have £345 credit left available so not enough to do a balance transfer to might try and pay a bit extra off so I can transfer another balance. My MBNA card the estimated interest for this month is £116, must be paying about £300 or more a month just on interest.
Just off to check my subscription and see why I am not getting e-mail notification as I ask for instant notification so I can keep track of every thread I've subscribed to.
Bye for now.

Oke doke.
Quick one this morning as have to get DD off to nursery in a bit.
Had a bit of inspiration last night and now that our budget seems to be working i want to up the income. Am trying so hard to find a job but no-one wants me....overqualified is a word i am not liking!!
So im secretly joining the turn £100 into £10000 challenge. Although in my case its turn nothing into £10000 challenge as i plan to start myself off with things i already have to sell.
So plan of action for today:-
- List 15 things on ebay!
- apply for 5 more jobs!
Will be back later to update!
So far income made - expenses £2.10p0 -

Oke doke....So far today the days is going ok.
I have succeeded in putting items on ebay....20 in total! Although not for high prices but need to get some money made before i invest it further in other things.
next on the hit list....job hunting but after having a quick whizz though i dont think i will have much luck today. Never mind...always tomorrow.
Had an email from Asda financial services offering credit card...so tried our luck and got accepted! Only given a limit of £500 but at least i can take advantage of the £500 for a 12month 0% BT.
We have tried to BT some of OH's evil virgin card to his lloyds on a 6month 0% deal....hopefully shall find out this week if thats been accepted. If it is i am doing good and will have managed to shift £3377 of high interest payments to 0% deals!! fingers crossed.
Thats me done.
Time to look for jobs!!0 -
Hooray, I got an e-mail confirmation that time that you had posted.
That is good about the Asda card, I never apply for anymore cards as I have 7 with balances on and assume they won't give me one as I don't have a job and owe so much already (over £27k).
One of my cards the promotional rate is finishing in March, only have just under £2k on that one and it was 7.9% for 2 years.
I must get on with my second hand Ebay stuff as I am away on Monday until the Sunday after and want to do 10 day auctions and hopefully earn some money while I'm away.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
well the day is nearly over. Time to go pick DD up from nursery soon.
Have prepared tea ready to pop in oven when we get in.
Just wanted to update on my ebay today....my selling total already now stands at £4.50.....only put things on 3hrs ago...and there are 4 more days left!! I'm hoping for a total of £20 but we shall see...maybe thats being greedy!!
Anyway just wanted everyone to know that! ha ha....it means that I have today made a total of £6.73!! wahey!! every little helps!!
