well a productive day for me....
and along with that i have thrown another £18.16 at the HSBC card!! that takes my 20k challenge to a total of £48.35 .... just another £19951.65 to go to hit the target  ah well small steps and all that!!
I have been good this month and also put money into savings account....think i may have said previously i feel its important for us now to build up an ermergency fund so that we have pennies there when we need them. Im finding it sooooo hard not to dip in though and pay some more debts off!! :rotfl:
Sat down today and worked out how much tax, mot and things like that will be, along with when they go out etc....need to get organised....2010 will be the first year that CC's will not be used in this house!!
I am winning the battle of wills in regards to xmas shopping...DD has plenty of prezzies now, but im itching to get OH some....but we made a deal that we wont do presents this year....so im trying my bestest to stick to it!! roll on 25th december when the shops are shut!! :j

I won 20p on the free scratchcard the other day, and 50p too last week.
Well done on the payments and on saving, I need to start putting a bit in my ISA to have some money to fall back on.
I have got lots for my girls too, bought a few too many things so am selling a couple of them on Ebay as they don't need it all and will just break/ruin it in time, last year they had a Baby Annabell doll each and one of them has drawn over the face of one doll and it won't come off, luckily I got a good deal on them 2 years ago and only paid £9.99 each but am annoyed, I said that Father Christmas won't be happy when he sees what they have done to the presents he left last year and DD1 said we could hide it - bless! They want a DS each but have told them Father Christmas won't buy anything too expensive as they don't look after things.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Ah another 10p for my bingo!!
just a quick update for me as got to head out! £10.00 to hsbc card again.
TMD - most of my little ones prezzies are £10 or under...got alot from argos 2 for £15!! bargain. Also managed to get her a dressing up doll in Morrisons for £5!!! absolute bargain!! and she will love it....regardless of the debt we have....they are too young to understand the value of money when they are young so i'm not paying the world for things. - OMG i sound like my mum...lol!! :rotfl:
Right hopefully be back tomorrow with more to update!

just a small payment of £5.00 to the hsbc card today....and 10p on the scratchie!!
have my money head on so hoping to sit down with figures later to work a few things out. I am on the 20k challenge and want to make sure i get my totals right....dont want to cheat and a payments where interest is being taken out. Want to have a def figure on what has actually been paid off the debt. This shouldnt be too hard as all the loans are now not paying interest off so just the evil CC's to watch! That will be the deflating part....as the interest is horrible but hey ho...i used the damn things!!
1 more present to buy and then christmas is sorted!! So pleased. Still have the urge to spend but i am resisting.
DD just woke up so best get off!!
back later x0 -
Hi
Well done on the payments. Xmas is very expensive, I shall be glad when it's over. I got my eldest two a Leapster 2 each in November last year, they were £25 each and I save them for this year, they have a VTEC Digital Camera each too and some bits and pieces, just need to spend some time wrapping it all up, they have all been ill, DD2 for about 2 weeks and the other two for about a week so hopefully by Monday they will be better and back to school so I can start wrapping a few things up a day.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Just another update to my dull diary.
Am still chipping away at the old debt, more so the 20k in 2010 challenge. I have now paid off £99.15!! yey...nearly up to half a %!! oh god thats a tiny amount ey!!
Ah well...will keep on plodding along!
Am considering a car boot sale....but are there any on this time of year??
No snow here at the moment...although i dont think we are due to have any here over in the west.
A quiet afternoon for me...just a wee bit of cleaning to do and then sort tea out. Going to spend a little time no sifting through these forums to see if i can grab some inspiration!!

More paid to hsbc card today....so my total to the 20k challenge now stands at £104.70!!
Off to morrisons for the weekly shop after lunch ....managed to collect all the receipts the last 4 weeks so will be able to collect my £25 voucher for there!! wahey!!

Back again!!
Went and got my £25 voucher at morrisons......so my £54.00 bill was reduced down to £29!! fab! Stocked up on toiletries mainly as already have quite alot of stuff in the freezer.
So i have been having a look through the money side of things and am making a list of things to do. The top of my list is to get OH to ring the bank regarding his loan when he gets in from work.....currently he has £383.62 left on it with 3 months to pay.....so working it out if we leave it run til the end we will pay a further £66.37 interest on it......so whilst we have a pot of money aside I think we may use it to kill the loan!! And save the £66.37 :j
That will then put us £105.75 better off a month, or should i say £105.75 to throw at another debt!! But it does ease our outgoings a little as we do run on a tight budget at the moment. A bit of breathing space would be nice.
So thats the first plan of action!! After having a few months floating around due to wedding planning and other bits and bobs I now feel I am back in the game!! Determined to get our debt down. Even just to halve it would be an amazing achievement.
OH should be home early today so i shall hopefully report back with good news later and we can all have a toast to the bank loan!!

Wow what a night!! Its the first time figures have kept me up! think i managed 3 hrs sleep between 3.30am and 6.30am!! On the plus side i feel i have made some progress. I have been haunted by the fact we have a big CC debt but what i class as "not much to show for it". So i logged into each card (7 in total) and went as far back as possible to find out what we had for our debt. 3 cards i could only get as far as working out we have transferred balances to them, 1 card has half balance transfer on it, half spending (but not sure what). And the final 3 i managed to get a good look at.......so this is my starting point.
I will now focus on paying off each item on the list. Now i know as i go along doing this there will be monthly interest added.....as far as possible i will also make this monthly payment of interest as an extra....but im not sure how feasible that part is at the mo.
The first card I am focusing has the 2nd largest amount of the 7 cards.....but has the highest interest rate. This seems like a good place to start because of that!!
The number of items on the list to pay off stands at 23!! These range from £12.49 spent in mothercare  to £1871.78 spent on a new kitchen. To keep me motivated I am going to start at the £12.49 and work my way up!
I remember reading this sort of idea on the forum a while back.....i dont think it took off as a challenge but I think its a fab way to tackle it! So thank-you to the original poster who planted the seed in my head!!
Here's to paying off the individual items i own but dont really own because they are part of my debt
