Lose weight 27

Hello all, Hope you don't mind me rejoining (I have been missing in action for quite a while now! don't really know how that happened!)
Just to recap..
I am doing RC classes (5 exercise + weigh in)
I joined in Oct 07 weighing 16 stone 9 (I am 5ft 2") in the last 21 months I have lost 4st 2lb and had my little boy who is nearly 11months old.
I really struggle to control binge eating, I can be great for days then lose the plot for a few days
My lowest adult weight in the past had been 13st and I am 1/2st lighter then that but since breaking that barrier I seem to have had lots more off days iyswim, I don't know who I am weighing less tbh (that doesn't make sense but I know what I mean!) I can't invisage (sp?) myself slim and it doesn't feel acheiveable but I am just trying to plod along if that makes sense.
I will stop waffling now and just try knuckling down eh!Following :money: to keep us debt free :j0 -
Granny Can you change mine to a LOSS please0

Fab loss there Beanie!
Hi Hannah welcome back! You can definitely do it if you want to, don't think for a minute that it's not achievable - look how much you've lost already! Your method is obviously working, you've got a clear overall target and the next mini-goal to aim for, it's all looking good0 -
Thanks for the chart Granny - no worries about the 2lb, it can come off next week for sure. I posted a bit late too, because I forgot the time.
Victory - wonderful wise words there about bingeing. I never considered myself a 'binge eater' as such, because I don't eat whole packets of biscuits in one go, or entire cakes, etc., but I am a 'picker'. I can get into the habit of sneaking food, and just grazing constantly. Picking at a packet of Ritz crackers, until I get to the end of the day and they're gone, packets of crisps, then a biscuit, then a slice of ham, etc. It isn't all in one go, but during the course of the day. I would have a couple of slices of bread or toast while I was cooking dinner, then eat a full dinner. It was all invisible calories, and it was done out of the sight of everyone else. They'd see me just eating normal meals, with maybe the odd treat here and there. I have often wondered where my eating issues have stemmed from - well, there's no issue actually, because I can happily stuff my cake hole, ha!
I was a fussy, picky eater as a child. I can remember not wanting to eat my lunch, and being given the same meal, cold, again later. I wasn't really interested in food, and was very small for my age. My parents were definitely 'waste not, want not', and have suffered the rationing of the war. My mum was a binge eater. Would choose to eat cakes instead of a proper dinner. My dad loved his food, and did all the cooking, so it was meat and 3 veg, proper food. My mum was on a variety of diets, and was always heavier than she should be, much like me. By the age of 10 I had discovered food. I was responsible for feeding myself most of the time, as my parents both worked. I think it was my constant friend, it was reliable and always there. Through my teens I just got bigger and bigger. I missed out on so much as a result; no boyfriends, no 18-30 holiday with mates, no high fashion clothes. My friends were all a size 8, I was an 18-20. They wore skinny jeans and mini skirts, I wore elasticated long skirts. I finally did something about it when I was 22. I had to buy a Christmas outfit for the office party, and couldn't find anything to fit me, and ended up in a BHS maternity dress in a size 22 - I was gutted.
I completely changed my eating thereafter, and I was losing a stone a month. I got down to a size 14, and like Hannah said above, I hadn't a clue who I was. I was getting attention from men, but I was so unable to deal with it, because I'd remained so naiive, so I had no idea how to be. I met my husband about a year later, who was an old school friend, and he had also just had a big weightloss of 6 stone, so we were kindred spirits at that time. I heard something last week on the TV that said you often attract someone of a similar self-esteem (not looks). In my case, that was very true.
Anyway, so Victory's post triggered that memory for me, and made me question my own reasons for eating still now, and Hannah's post about not knowing who she is at her current weight, or when lighter did too. It's very relevant to where I am at now. I wonder if it made other's think of their own food/weight journey too, and made me wonder what was their 'trigger' moment to kick them into action? I think I can tolerate what I look like at my current weight, but it's when I get heavier I feel awful enough to really tackle my weight. That is my current lack of momentum, I believe.
Welcome back Hannah. Contributing here needs to be almost habit-like to keep on top of it. I know when days get so busy that I hardly get onto the internet that I feel guilty about being away. I like to feel 'answerable' to the thread, and therein, all of you.:o
Missy I've had a look back at the Q2 objectives I'd set. Well, I havent dropped another dress size, and in fact, I'm at practically the same weight, which means I've spent 3 months just maintaining. I'm not at the right weight to be just maintaining. However, I was pleased to see that I have stuck with my aims, and have worked at them, and they are still relevant. So, it is still more exercise, with greater intensity. My bike riding is far more enjoyable, and that is because my stamina is better. I still want to drop that next dress size, but for now I'll happily settle with being a comfortable size 14 (with room in my jeans please). While I can wear a 14 most of the time, it's still not a guarantee (I bought 2 pairs of long shorts & 1 pair of trousers in Next last week in a 14; the trousers were fine, the shorts were tight). I would like to get a lovely pretty outfit for my sister's party at the end of this month, but despite looking haven't found anything. I may go looking tomorrow actually.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -

SARY - your comment about having to wear a size 22 maternity dress all those years ago made me really feel for the person you was then.
At the airport I bought my fave big milka truffle chocolate bar and realised that unlike the richer choc bar i buy here and can genuinely have 1 or 2 squares and feel happy, i cannot resist this one. OH clearly noticed how quickly it was disappearing and in very bluntly said so. It really got my back up as when I said I had realised I shouldnt have bought it and was eating it quickly to get rid of it he said "no you are just being a fat cow on your TOTM" well I flew at him! He now claims he didnt and wouldnt say that, but he did. Still, in my anger I threw out the rest of the chocolate so some good came from it, and he did say sorry and he was trying to stop me undoing my hard work so its all good now.
Right I really need to get some more work done, have a good day all.0
