    + 3LB for me this week :eek::eek:

    Not sure what's happened; I've been eating more carbs than usual for me this week and getting the usual amount of exercise, plus I've gone down the processed/added sugar route with curry sauces etc on a couple of occasions. Also I dont think I've been drinking enough water. Haven't had much of an appetite though what with one thing and another so maybe I'm not eating enough and my body is going into starvation mode? Plan to fix it within the next 7 days!!

    Thanks guys - no problem getting people in: 2 universities and 2 major hospitals and a med school and 8+ language school all within spitting distance - and yes I have a list of questions 3ft long granny:D. I've managed to stop short of asking for a dna sample though:rotfl:.

    It's just making the judgement of finding the 'right one'. We have a very nice room that people tend to really want, and of the people we have seen, several would have been fine, but it is the dilemma of hanging on to find someone you just reallreally want and how long you do that. And you can't keep others waiting, so does one say no in the hope of someone 'better' turning up. And I hate having to say no to people too!
    I is just a stressful process. I've had some great lodgers and I known the feeling I get when they are the right one - it takes about 10 seconds and I just know, despite all the questions I go through etc.
    At the end of the day, this is our home and we want to look forward to coming home to it. We're passed the stage of 'house sharing' in a studenty way. But we also want our lodger to feel welcome and at home too and that takes effort, so I need to make that as easy as poss on myself by really really liking them!
    I 'm telling mself it is worth waiting a bit longer but its the worry i guess of perhaps i should have taken the last one that came.

    It is worth the wait, I know exactly what you mean, years ago I had to have a lodger to get by and loads of them were unsuitable so I kept hanging in there, one elderly gentleman freshly divorced was very keen but I was not because he didn't seem right, in the end he persuaded me to have him as a lodger and he was the nicest, most caring, clean, tidy, respectable gentleman I have ever had the pleasure of sharing a house with and even to this day I still remember him fondly, he even used to bring home cream cakes on a thursday when he got paid so we could have a cup of tea and a chat, oh them were the days:D
    Give the 'potentials' hope if you want, say I will let you know in 3/5 days time so you have time to decide and they know when the cut off point is so that if it is a no they can go and search elsewhere, they feel appreciated and not dangling and you do not feel harassed into making an instant maybe wrong decision:D
    Always remember the pro and cons list of each person and that people are at their nicest friendliest happiest when they come round because they want the room, you have to look a bit beyond that to the reality of having them in the house and seeing them daily and being in their company but you have done it before you can do it again for sure, the stress will pass once the decision has been made;)

    BB - can't see what's wrong with asking for a DNA sample ....:confused: How were you thinking of obtaining it?

    Not sure if it's worth claiming but here goes ..... lost 0.25 lb this week! Not really on course with my end of the year target unless I can lose about 4 lb in a week. perhaps I could offer a very large DNA sample - half an arm or something?

    Hi guys, i'm very new to this forum stuff - in fact you're my first. I've read some of your posts and thought i would ask if I could join. I need to lose about 1.5 stones, don't really have a deadline (right NOW would do nicely - if any of you have magic wands...:rolleyes:). I'm trying to eat properly and actually stick with my gym visits (Usually stick it out for a week or two and then give up for a month). As much as OH support is appreciated I need the discipline of a weekly weigh in. So if you'll have me...
