Been much better so far this week. Resisting the urge to take chocolates round to my friend's house tonight - think I will find something fruity instead.

Kiwis are my new thing, love them lovely and sweet and squishy and very cheap now at morrisons or aldi:D and avocados which is not a fruit I know but have a new found love for them so does OH so it is battle on who gets them:rotfl: I always used to steer clear of avocados for the high fat and cals but they are good fats and always recommended in diet books and I never have a whole one, don't get the chance in this house:D
Crumbs just read in my WW book out of curiosity for avovado medium 155g 6 points, wow good job I only have a couple of bits of it each time, kiwi is 1/2 points

That's a really good strategy Mazza. Such a simple idea but one that works.
I usually shop on line as it avoids the temptations of the supermarket. I can't always avoid real shops though, so does anyone have an idea similar to Mazza's about how not to buy the chocoalte bar when I'm really supposed to be buying fruit?

Go on then KPC --- if you're as old as me! :D no, I didn't think so.

I was offered a little job today - probably only about 3 days a term - supporting newly appointed head teachers. :j:j:j:j Just the sort of thing I love doing so I really hope it works out. Roll on April.

Hunt the lodger sounds jolly difficult. Good luck BB.Do you have a list of criteria that the lodger must fit, with points awarded accordingly? (Or is that just the sort of thing I would do .... oh dear.)

  • Thanks guys - no problem getting people in: 2 universities and 2 major hospitals and a med school and 8+ language school all within spitting distance - and yes I have a list of questions 3ft long granny:D. I've managed to stop short of asking for a dna sample though:rotfl:.

It's just making the judgement of finding the 'right one'. We have a very nice room that people tend to really want, and of the people we have seen, several would have been fine, but it is the dilemma of hanging on to find someone you just reallreally want and how long you do that. And you can't keep others waiting, so does one say no in the hope of someone 'better' turning up. And I hate having to say no to people too!
I is just a stressful process. I've had some great lodgers and I known the feeling I get when they are the right one - it takes about 10 seconds and I just know, despite all the questions I go through etc.
At the end of the day, this is our home and we want to look forward to coming home to it. We're passed the stage of 'house sharing' in a studenty way. But we also want our lodger to feel welcome and at home too and that takes effort, so I need to make that as easy as poss on myself by really really liking them!
I 'm telling mself it is worth waiting a bit longer but its the worry i guess of perhaps i should have taken the last one that came.
