Lunch: Toast n Jam (got some weird cravings for that atm)
    Dinner: Lasagne n garlic bread

No i will try not to eat in between, if i'm real hungry i'll go get an apple. Oh i say that everyday but the crisps are soooooooooooo tempting..

edit: and will top that up with about 40 cups of coffee, i'm an addict

Hi:D call me wonder woman, went to work, made delia smith christmas cake, making the pots of gold from the pots of gold thread, went with little one to cubs, the other one is at football, cleaned house, made dinner or rather reheated it because now at work make a huge more effort to have exactly what I would have with all the time in the world but now with no time, as it is easy to just pick up and eat all the wrong things as we all know, so continue to eat the same but colder:rotfl::rotfl: etc and weighed in today and lost the 5lb that was there at the beginning of the week, so glad I ignored it:D

Crumbs no one has been on since yesterday, hope you are all well, off to a boot fair in a mo this one and next week and that is it, going to get lots of craft bits because have been inspired to make lots of stuff for xmas, works out loads cheaper and looks great, like you have put the effort in:D the unfortunate thing is I am pretty rubbish at it and it looks very home made or rather very much like my 9 year old did it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:practice makes perfect and I have a few weeks to perfect it:D

Good morning - slow here, did my back in and it took much longer to get things done this morning :)

    Day 3
    B: Bowl of bran flakes
L: Tagliatelle with sprinkle of cheese & a tomato
D:Lamb chop, potatoes & veg then sm portion rhubarb crumble
    S: Glass of hot blackcurrant

In addition to above, 3 mugs of tea and a handful of fruit pastilles :o

I KNOW I shouldn't have had them but I was bored and boredom, like cheese and fruit pastilles, is another of my downfalls. :o

  • Good morning all. Feels like a very early sunday morning start but I know many of you will have been up for several hrs:D.

Going through an extra hungry phase at the moment and last 2 nights have had horrendous munchies n the middle of the night. Trouble is , resistance is low at the time of night what ever firm resolve I may take in the evening. Normally it means a cereal & fruit attack.

Nyk - I had a whole pkt of fruit gums on friday while at work - just flaggig and needed help to keep going even though I had eaten suffient. Fatigue and the need to try and shore up my energy levels is my weak point.
Sorry to hear you've done back in a bit: is this a reg occurance and was it it something obvious that set it off.

lol kpc: how's the brain to fridge breakfast co ordination been since?

Mazza - frustrating that the change in routine is already having an effect. As this is likely to be permanent, have you any plans totry and exercise in a differnt way or is this not poss with your knee.

[STRIKE]Victory [/STRIKE]Wonder Woman - it's great to her you flying about once more becasue you have got to got to work:j. Good luck with all the xmas pressie making. I need to get myself organised on that front too.

Missy , what a great achievement re your activity goals:T Have you posted your Q4 challenges yet or have I missed it?

Vix - I'm really impressed you are returning that stuff:T:TGood for you - awareness of what is happening re urge to spend is more than half the battle. I know it is really really hard to org re food, and i is a skill like any other that can be learned. But you have only just started full time and you are doing no diff form me at 23 I can assure you (well except there weren't ready meals around I think then... but I tended to cook the same meal everyday: chicken, sweetcorn & pots:o Perhaps you could get a nice wipe board for the kitchen and ask Matt towrite his next week's work times on it for you once a week and then you/him/both write next to it what you could eat? Would take a little time but then all the brain work for the week would be done and you would both have helped each other?

Pooh bear - well done for getting back on track.

Sary - how is the lower carb month going?

Sorry if I have missed some new people - please keep posting regularly so we can have fun getting to know you and therefor be more support.

:o 1.4lb gain for me due to a socialable week followed by a week of flu which in turn meant a fortnight of no exercise. Oh well onwards and downwards.

But that will go away soon Vixstar, you've done so well you know exactly how to do it.

Coo-er Victory you ARE wonder woman.

Missy --- what can I say? You are an inspiration. I've two gym classes booked this week in addition to the usual walking and so on, and it is largely due to you. Not hat I have any expectation of reaching your dizzy heights, I think I've left it a bit too long!

Nyk, I think if coffee is what you crave just keep drinking it. I drink loads, usually with skimmed milk, and it hasn't stopped me losing. In fact sometimes when I think I'm hungry a cup of coffee does the job instead of food.

BB it is still early ... I'm STILL in bed. :o

I handed in my resignation to the chair of governors on Friday, tomorrow I tell the staff. :j:j:j It feels very odd but I have no doubt that I'm doing what's right for me. Might need to be a lot more MSE in future though! I found a pile of clothes in the loft which now fit but are about 20 or 25 years old. I don't think there is one wearable item amongst them but DD is going to help me sort through them later. How is it that even plain trousers are SO out of date? And I'm not exactly a fashionista - I just don't want to look funny :o
  • Granny - that is soooo exciting: really pleased you know this is the right decision for you How long is your period of notice?
You'll have much more time to strengthen your MSE skills once you has 'retired' though I am sure you will still be very busy.

    Hello everyone,

Granny - I'm glad you've made a decision you feel happy with. My eldest sister took early retirement at 58 and agonised over whether it was the right thing to do. When we celebrated her 60th this year she mused that she had no idea now how she fitted in working full-time previously, because life was so busy! She has always been a good budgeter (well, she did work in accounts), so hasn't found it that difficult to adapt, although I'll be honest and admit that her living on a budget, is total luxury living compared to how we live, but they've worked hard for that lifestyle.

Victory - I always tend to think that the more you have to do, the more organised you become. My friends often ask how I 'cope' with all the children, decorating, doing the garden, doing social/voluntary things, and I just reply that I have learned to be very organised, and run a tight ship. You are more than capable of fitting work into your family routine.

BB - I hope your midnight munchies subside. I know it's something you often have to contend with, but you seem to be very philosophical about it, and I think a bowl of cereal is a sensible option. How is the lodger situation?

The low carb is going quite well. I had a day off yesterday, but my stomach played up something awful, so I regretted it. I went out on Friday for an Indian meal with my girlfriends, and was very good considering what was available. I had the mixed kebab to start, with salad, and had chicken tikka with salad for main course. I have to say it was absolutely gorgeous and refreshing, and I didn't feel awfully bloated like I would have after curry with rice. Yesterday I took my BF to our local big town, and we mooched around the bookshops, and I got a few books too, one is a Delia Smith's Frugal Food, which was first printed 30 years ago, but is so relevant today too. We had a walk around the beautiful cathedral, which my BF has lived only a few miles from all his life, but had never visited. I went there when I first moved up here. It was lovely, because the choir were rehearsing for evensong, so it was like walking around with a choir of angels in our ears. I found it very moving. We visited the burial place of Katherine of Aragon (1st wife of Henry VIII), and simply marvelled at the ancient architecture. For lunch BF chose to go into the Cornish Pasty Co. cafe, and I had a small pasty with a cup of tea. Later, back home, we were still quite full, so rather than having the Chinese I'd planned to fetch, we just ate left over lasagne from the night before, but I made the mistake of eating a small amount of white french stick with it, and that really affected my stomach all night.

So far today I've just had some porridge. I had breakfast rather late, so will have a spot of lunch in a moment. I think I'll have some bacon and egg, something reasonably light. I think we're going to have chicken and salad for tea.

Mazza - I do feel for you feeling so bored at work. Are you starting to look elsewhere for work, or see what the diagnosis is going to be re. your knee first? How is your daughter feeling now?
