Hi guys, followed BB here from elsewhere so hope you don't mind my joining in this thread. I need to lose weight... help! :)

If there's a new thread or challenger list starting, I'd like to join please. :)
Hurrah! at last I've got a stalker:D Welcome to the thread Nyk.

Everyone on here has been tackling weightloss in different ways - some use weight watchers, Slimming world, Rosemary conley - some going to classes others not. Some are just cutting down on junk and going for better portion control and others are incorporating more exercise.
A lot of us have found that keeping afood diary is a good start, to give you a good idea what you actually eat. I personally, (and I am not alone here) find too many carbs are my downfall. But is very hard on a tight budget not to major on carbs. But the more carbs I eat, the hungrier I am.

Do you havea cunning plan that suits you and just need encouragement to stick to it? We encourage all new posters to post here every day as it helps keep you focussed.
The goal is 5lb weight loss a month, the chart of losses /gains goes up each wed and is currently done by our divine grannynise. Please post your weekly weigh in in large bold letters so it is eay for her to log. We don't need to no any starting weight, just, losses and stay the sames(sts) and gains.

    Thanks for the chart granny.
    Well done dinah for SOTW:T:T

Mazza - good luck with the whole job health thing: hop eyou get to move ion soon. Look forward to hearing about the mortury job if it comes off!!!
Hope you feel better soon Margaret.

Victory - gotta laugh at the way you describe your son. At least it isounds like you and OH are a united front where he is concerned!
When do you start the job?

I've had a really productive creative day today so am rather happy:D
lol kpc - yes, I think I am your OH's OW.
Vix - next time your feel uni envy with your friends, just think about having to start an essay now that is due on tomorrow morning. And as for the dissertation...
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Hey everyone
It's been ages since I've been in here, but I've had so much going on - and unfortunately, so much weight put back on!
So I'm just about to do a weigh-in, and I'd like to restart again?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Found this thread by typing "weight" in the search and like a shining beacon of light there you were!! :T

I got a bit freaked out with the 84 pages so admit I've just jumped straight to the end but I think the very helpful post from Brighton Belle above has pretty much answered all my questions.

I cancelled my weight watchers subscription today as I've been paying by DD and not going :o and after my very recent lbm things like that have to stop!!

So I toddled off to Boots today and bought a smart weigh card then discovered I was 10 lbs heavier than when I last weighed in June and 29.6% pure lard haha.

So thats it, let the weight loss commence :)

  • Hello :hello:Smithy.

I feel a bit churlish saying this after BB described me as divine :o:o but .... would anyone like to take the chart for November? I'm happy to do it for another month but then would like a little break if anyone else is up for it? :D

I missed the chart too - so can you put me down for a 1lb loss.

I'd be happy to do the chart Granny - you never know I might even weigh in time then :p

Hi guys, hi BB, thanks for the explanation. I guess I was bang on time for my week one with yesterday being a Wednesday. I guess that will make my first 'weigh in' a big fat ZERO as I'm only starting watching the weight from today. I'll log my week 1 losses or gains next Wednesday. :D

I quit smoking on 01/01/08 and have gained almost 2 stone since then! I need to lose it. I already go walking and do a little running (started following the C25K running programme) when [STRIKE]hips[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]knees[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]ankles[/STRIKE], joints permit but that doesn't lose me any weight, so it's down to time management - controlling time spent eating/drinking:exercising:sitting at a desk:in bed :o I reckon the ratios are currently 4:1:10:9
I'd need to lose 23kg to take me to pre-pregnancy weight but my youngest 'baby' is now 20, so I've given up all hope of ever seeing that weight again!:rotfl:

Spent the morning with the speech therapist at the school, she said there is nothing there that is a definete problem, that she can get her teeth into that it can sometimes come across that he does not broaden his sentences to more than a few words so a referal and more waiting:rolleyes:
