Great losses KPC and Bananasplit! :D Keep up the good work!

I had to borrow the battery from my scales to put in my HRM at the moment, but when I replace it I'm going to switch to weighing in kilos (your post reminded me KPC). I do my other measurements & exercise distances in metric so I don't know why I've been weighing in stone & lbs all this time

Victory - taking the week OFF food? I'm sure you meant taking the week off 'counting' food... right? Take care.

    hi all

Been browsing on this site for a while and thought i'd join in - I'm 40ish and been overweight all my life. I joined WW and SW and lost loads of weight but then put it back on again as soon as i stopped. Another down side to that was I thougth of food ALL day long - not because i was hungry but always trying to figure out how many points/syns etc my next meal was and I really don't want to do that.

Anyways - I really want to lose weight - i get out of breath climbing stairs and am in the region of 100+ kilos (~16 stone or so??) now. all those lovely clothes i can't wear!! I don't want to weight myself any more, too depressing but just see how my clothes are doing.

I also recently learned how to swim and am determined to be proficient by the time i go to hols in Barbadoes in Oct this year. I fork out for PT but then tend not to go to gym in between which for a M-saver is not very good is it?

this sounds like the right place to keep me on track and keep me supported so hello new friends!

so for today - i want to go for a swim and then maybe do aqua if there is a class. And I'll faithfully update tomorrow if i dun it.
  • Hey all. Feeling a lot better today. Just had so many things happen at once yesterday on top of feeling a bit down anyway that I kinda lost the plot! I don't usually let things get to me, so when I do get down it's such a big change that it floors me.

Ok, sorry for the big rant thats about to follow, but I need to get it all off my chest!

It started on Friday night. We wer having a fundraiser for our Beaver Colony so that they could go on a summer outing. We decided to do it way back at the start of March & I've been making up the questions since then (9 rounds, 20 questions each inc. a music round that I had to download music for & work out timings for stopping it). The parents (of 15 boys) got a 'dates for your diary' letter on the 30th of April telling them about everything we have on between now & xmas, then 3 weeks ago they got one reminding them about the quiz & asking them to get in touch for tickets. There's been posters up in & outside the huit for a month. On Thursday night the boys all made cards to go on the tables saying 'thank you for coming to our quiz' & we out a big blackboard outside reminding everyone of the quiz. So I took the night off work on Friday & spent about an hour setting up for it. We spent about £35 on raffle prizes, a trophy & plastic medals for 1st place & getting the answer sheets copied................. and not one single parent turned up! 8 of my friends came to it & that was all that was there. I really can't believe it! I'm so angry & upset & a bit hurt too. We do a lot of work & get no support, so that was the final straw, its the second fundraiser we've ran that NO parents have turned up to, so Thursday is our last night & then we're going to have the rest of the year off. I've been doing it for 8 years now & have never experienced anything like this before. So thats been praying on my mind all weekend.

I moved back into my flat on Saturday after moving out because of the mice. 2 were caught in traps then the traps the 1st night then the traps were taken away by my landlord??! So I'm not 100% convinced that they've all gone, but I came home anyway. I'm a bit jumpy, any noise in the house has me hitting the roof! lol So when I took my hoover out yesterday & saw that they'd been living in it...... Well, it was the last straw after a day if stress & worry.

I moved into my (privately rented) flat on the 28th of November last year & now my landlord is pregnant so she is selling it (after giving me a years lease!) & I got my Notice to Quit yest saying that I have to have moved out by the 10th of August. Which doesn't seem that far away.

I filled in homeless papers last week with the council & when i spoke to them yest after faxing through my notice to quit they said it wasn't a legal notice so I spent about 2 hours between the lady at the council & my landlord trying to get the notice correct so they could put it through for me & the lady at the council told me that because I don't have dependants & I'm 25 yrs old they don't have a duty of care towards me so all they have to offer me is 'a roof over my head'....... which wouldn't be a flat/house in Alyth, but a B&B in Perth, 20 odd miles away! Which I would have to pay for myself! I would also have to pay for storage for all my goods while I'm in the B&B!! If I had to move through there I'd have to give up my pub shifts & the shop shifts as I'd have to rely on public transport & the buses don't run at suitable times (plus its £6 return everytime). Also, I'd prob have to give up the job I'm due to start next Monday as the 1st bus doesn't get in until after I'm due to start & I'd have an hour & a half wait then an hour journey after I finished work to get 'home' again, instead of the 10 min wait & 15 mins bus living in Alyth. So thats got me horrendously stressed out!! How can i pay for a B&B & storage? I can bearly cope just now!

Then I opened another letter & it was an electric bill for £580!!!!!! saying they were coming to fit a PPM today (tues) unless I can pay it all at once. This was due to estimated readings previously. Obviously I can't pay it, so now I'm facing having no electricity as I have no money to put in the meter. I was on the phone for more than 30mins explaining this but the say its too late now! So why not contact me before now?? So my mood went down another level.

THEN i received a letter saying that i hadn't been paying my council tax, which I have been as I've been on JSA since November last year so it gets paid for me. Turns out the only pay the council tax part, I'm supposed to pay the water & sewerage part. I didn't know that, I've never been unemployed or on JSA before in my life!! I've always just paid my CT by DD, so I didn't realise it was split, I just paid what they said I had too. So thats another £252 odd. According to the woman I spoke to the Housing officer should have explained that when I filled in the forms. They bl**dy didn't or it would have been paid!

So that was my day. :rotfl:Ah, you gotta laugh........ otherwise........... Sorry again for taking up so much space. Thanks to all who've left me hugs & good wishes, its really helped to make me happier today! xxxxxxxxx

Yes:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: no cal counting in this house I meant:D

sl although it is unbelievable while you are in it, these things are sent to try us is an apt description of how life can be pretty darn hard and streneous but every time there is a reason, no one knows why someone has to endure such difficult times but out of it another person emerges better equipped at dealing with life's little blips;)
