Welcome KKS and good luck.
Scottish lass - I was spitting tacks on your behalf about the no-show parents but by the time I readhed the end of your post I was hyperventitalting. You are having SUCH an awful time. All of that at once. If you can really manage a smile - let alone a laugh -- you're a very strong woman. Sending positive vibes .... is there any hope of a room in the pub whereyou work unti lyou cansort out something else? I know they often have large living spaces above. Hugs from Granny.0 -
SL Crikey. It seems like you're having an horrendous time. The parents not turning up is absolutely shocking. I don't know how they do it. I'd feel guilty if that was my child and I was (potentially) depriving them of a fun day out.
I hope that it all gets sorted asap for you. *hugs*0 -

Unfortunatly not Granny, its a family run pub & all the family (except one daughter) still stay at home, so there's literally no room at the Inn! :rotfl:
I generally am a very positive person & will attack a problem head on until it's sorted. I don't have credit cards & never have had, I've never had a loan or even been in debt before (unless you count persuading my dad that i'll pay him back if he buys me a cd/dvd/bottle of perfume! :rotfl:and to be fair I'm sure he doesn't believe me anway.........) so to find out that i'm in nearly a grands worth of debt like that just totally stumped me!!! I think it just seemed so bad after the stress of the whole mice saga & friday nights........... well, i can't even think of a word to describe what friday night was!!!!!!!!!! (not a polite one anyway!) talking to the woman at the council and being told all that then finding that the mice had made a house in my hoover (is nothing sacred?!) WELLLLLLLLL! lol no wonder I had a wee hissy fit!!
But today i feel a lot better & will just tackle one problem at a time & do what i can do. Nothing more for it.
Thank you all for your kind words, it's really helped! xxxxx.•¨¨*:•..•

oh scottish lass i wish you lived in leeds! Those parents ought to be ashamed of themselves, you should send a letter out saying that how disappointed the kids will be that none of them made the effort and that you won't do it again. OH's mum is akela to a cub pack and some of the parent stories she tells me make me so mad! Got an ENORMOUS heap of cakes in the living room so i'm in the kitchen. Went to see a potential new supplier tonight who has a tearoom and makes her own cakes, biscuits and stuff. Despite my protestations, she has laoded me down with cakes, and although I offloaded as many as i could as freebies to customers there is still a lot left. USing 2 tactics right now - absolutely stuffed full of new potatoes(green day) and OH is due back form the pub quiz, hopefully with beer munchies.0

I know! I really cannot believe it. Myself and the other leader don't have children or any ties to Scouting but we still turn up every week (in 8 years I've had 4 nights off!) to do an unpaid job, that gets harder and harder as the years go on with all the new rules and regulations that get brought in. It's not just an hour a week, we have to do a certain amount of CPD every year, which again we don't get paid for - even when we have to travel to things, we have to go on weekend camps, training days (on our days off from normal work) and spend 2 hours a month planning programmes etc. So why the BL**DY H*LL can't the parents turn up to something that benefits their own child????? OOOOOOOH!:mad::mad: I could go on and on and on........ lol.•¨¨*:•..•

Victory:eek:. So sorry to hear you are in such a bad way:mad:. You're not really leaving your DH are you???:(. The pain sounds dreadful: I hope you get help soon. Do not risk further agony by rescuing your mum too much; on past record she will nether thank or appreciate anything you do and you need to look after you at the mo.
Sorry i can't stop; have been and am very busy at home at the mo....
SL - you've been having a rough time and I know how tough accomodation hunting can be, particulalry with little cash and on your own. As for the parents:mad::mad:. You have given much & deserve better.
STS for me this week. Will try and be back later.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
