lo catalogue queen and elfen!
victory, that recipe sounds gorgeous i plan it for week after next. Had a bit of a bad night last night - decided to go to WI and the speaker was talking about his dad's career in the RAF as a bomber. Which my grandad was so I ended up coming home howling and eating toast to make it all better. Then becasue I was in a downer frame of mind I got all down about pretty much everything and ate lots of other things too.
feeling slightly better today, trying to take some control back and be positive.
Victory so excited for you about your interview!0 -

For Phase 1 I'd have some Live Natural Yoghurt as soon as I get up, just to take the edge off, then when I get back from my swim I'd have eggs of some sort (fried, poached, boiled, etc) sometimes with a couple of rashers of bacon. Lunch is a salad with ham or eggs, and dinner would be any kind of meat or fish with vegetables or salad (absolutely no potatoes or mushrooms allowed, or gravy or sauces). Drinks are water or green tea (I got fizzy water to replace my diet coke habit). Snacks are crudites. I didn't miss carbs at all, not even Sunday roasties, but I did miss chocolate - every time I got a craving I just thought to myself - this is only for 5 days, stick it out girl!!
Phase 2 means I can start re-introducing wheat again, so I have shreddies and skimmed milk for breakfast (skimmed milk with a carb is fine as there's amost no fat in it), or low fat live yoghurt with berries (I have some frozen raspberries in the freezer that I had forgotten about but are now coming into their own), or bacon & eggs, or an omelette. (Good job I'm at home at the mo' else I'd never find time to do all this!!). You can't mix fat & carbs in the same meal so a "fat" dinner is much the same as in Phase 1, or if I wanted "carb" dinner I could have pasta with a tomato-based sauce, or a jacket potato with a low fat filling.
Today for example I had shreddies & skimmed milk when I got up, yoghurt & raspberries when I got back from swimming, then a late lunch of a prawn & salmon salad (no dressing), and my dinner tonight will be a jacket potato with cottage cheese.
There are lots of different combinations and options, too many to go into here so you can look at theharcombediet.co.uk for all the gen.
The other day I mistakenly ate a load of vanilla-favoured yoghurt that had sugar added & I ended the day with a massive headache- so my detox obviously worked!!
I wont weigh myself again until next Tuesday or Wednesday but I do feel better and I'm sleeping better than I've done for months, which is probably due to the complete lack of caffeine in my diet now. I rarely get hungry between meals, probably cos I each big meals, and if the weight still keeps coming off then I'm onto a winner!

I just baked butternut squash in the oven with herbs and spices from the Jamie oliver book and they are delicious, give it a go, well worth the peeling and chopping, did not take to the seeds being put in a pan to crisp up and eat like nuts though seemed a bit hard and dry to me so they went in the bin but the butternut squash is so fab:D0

The best of us have setbacks, you didn't know that was going to happen at WI.
Right, on my travels today I got me a pedometer, and am impressed at doing 6000 steps today. Need to build that up to 10,000+ I think. Also, found a gluten free cooking book, and one for salads and stuff, and I can change stuff in them as I need to...and got a workout DVD for 3 quid, cos I know I shall need the help. Vix you don't have to get your tummy out if you don't want - think I'll wait until I'm much better at it. But you do get to wear a scarf round your hips with coins on it so you jingle as you move.0

Poohbear just do it big and bright so it can be seen, even if u post it on the tuesday from the week b4, i think that should be fine.
DD is home from hospital, CT scans all clear, still no idea what's causing it, although they think she had a severe kidney infection that's gonna take time to heal. Has been referred to a back specialist too, just to be on the safe side as she has mobile joints too, so want to be on the safe side.
Anyhoo she's home \o/4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Victory, good luck with the interview, let us know how you get on. Just a word of caution, be very careful with 2nd hand Xbox's - make sure it hasn't got the red ring of death as it is called - if you google it you should get some info on it.
Vix, I'm not keen on cows - when I am with my dog we get chased alot through fields - in the news recently a lady was killed by stampeding cows. Horses are usually just friendly.
Elfen, hello and welcome to the thread. I lost 3 1/2 stone using the Rosemary Conley GI diet - you can follow recipes from her website, magazines (old ones often cheap on Ebay), books etc My OH loved it when I was on the diet because the food is so tasty and a great variety. I also used it for the rest of the family, just adding cheese/butter etc for the little ones so that they didn't miss out on the protein and fats that they need. I've been a maintainer now for about 18 months - I still weigh in on here for support as I find it keeps me on the straight and narrow - although I do enjoy the odd glass of wine, chocs, cakes etc but my weight is pretty much stable now. I exercise now by cycling and walking mostly - although I didn't start to exercise until I had lost my weight.
