Well done on losing your 5lbs. That's a good kick-start. I lost 5lb in my first week of calorie counting at the beginning of the year, and my best 1st week loss previously was 7lb when I started Weight Watchers. Don't be surprised if you reach a plateau when your body adjusts to your new way of eating, and most of us agree here that the only way to combat that hurdle was to increase activity levels quite a bit to kick start things again.
What does your daily menu look like, and how did you cope without carbs for Phase 1? Is it just bacon and egg for breakfast?
As for the sugar in bread, I think you may struggle to find one without sugar, as it's used to work in conjunction with the yeast to ferment, and creates carbon dioxide, or the bubbles to create the rising of the dough, and therefore the fine pockets of air inside a slice of bread. You would probably need to find an unlevened bread like pitta, naan, soda bread, etc. I did find a recipe you could use if you have a bread machine (I do and love mine) :

OH is the proud owner of a motor bike bid on ebay won it, only 5 hours away to pick it up, thank goodness for free petrol:D he is well chuffed, needs it to go to work, car puts another 1-2 hours on his commute, bike whiz in and out, his last one the gear box gave up and it is so old it was a question of throw more money at it or give up so he gave up.
Made choc cake again the last one was a torte this is a cake, muesli bars and they are sliceable this time so put them away for lunch boxes and have done all the prep for the cuban chicken in economy gastronomy cook book all I need to do is cook it:Dand for me I made the most fab haddock dish I have ever eaten, I used to live off it when the weight was coming off in the olden days, loved it, it says 2 points per portion WW and I would make batches of the stuff up and just live off it, here is the recipe if anyone is interested, it really is fab....
SWEET AND SOUR FISH CURRY.
low fat cooking spray
1 small red onion diced
75g of diced carrots
1 tbs curry powder
150g diced courgettes
400g can of chopped toms
150ml fish stock
1 tbs fresh lemon juice
1009 baby sweetcorn halved
100g canned pineapple in chunks in own juice
275g skinless and boneless haddock cubed
2 tbs chopped fresh coriander to garnish
2 points WW 260 cals per serving serves 2
Heat low fat spray, add onions, garlic, carrots and curry powder use 2 tbs of water to steam boil for 5 mins until softened on a low heat.
Add courgettes, chopped toms, fish stock and lemon juice to pan and bring to boil, reduce to a simmer uncovered for 15 mins.
Mix the baby sweetcorn, pineapple drained and haddock cubes, stir and cook for another 10 mins.
Sprinkle with coriander just before serving:Ddelicious:D
OH has a tendency to listen (well as men do) say yes he will do it and not follow it through, 3 things were outstanding, I picked him up on it again last night and today he has done all 3:D surprising what ' I am leaving you, I have had enough of this' does for motivation:rolleyes:0 -
ooh, go me -1lb please granny
Some great results pouring in: well done banana;efrieze(3lbs is 'falling off you' is'it it if you haven't been 'that good'?:T): cazzy, dinah (oh so worth not having the buttons now);hezza (good luck with phase 2) & granny:T:T
And only small inszi winzy gains for mc (you can't not eat crepes if in France - that's official) and kpc.
Not too bad today - still not myself and a bit feverish, but made it to mosaic class and now back home and feet up for most of the rest of the day if I want to. Dinner all ready - sw shepherds pie (mashed swede & carrot not potato). Will serve OH's with brochli. Straight out of the freezer from bulk cooking last month for days such as these.
Granny - you 4 day weeks are paying off - have a wonderful jaunt. How exotic that sounds 'off the the S of France for the weekend:DI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
:hello:Hello
I haven't been here for ages. Someone might remember me:)
When I was last here I weighed about 13st 8ish. and was gradually losing. I joined slimming world on line. I lost a bit there too. I am now down to 12st 5lb and still a fair way off, have cancelled the SW subscription and wonderd if you would have me back on here. Chastened, as I feel I would have done just as well sticking with you and your support.
I have started to eat low carb in the last week, as that seems to help kick start my weight loss and give me more energy. I am going to ask my GP tomorrow as I am on a wonderful list of meds and he may say not to do it.
I get weighed every Thursday at the hospital so I can give you my official weight then. I do recognise some names on here still especially victory, kpc, Brightonbelle, granny, vixarooni and beanie.Hello again!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

:j:jwelcome back poohbear:T. Of course you are remembered:D. You are very welcome to throw you lot in with us again: you have done very well to lose more rather than put on.
You know the drill - post often for max support. Don't feel chastened - I've been virtually sts for months :rotfl:I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi all, hope everyone's OK
I forgot to post my update for last week. Intake 1884/day average, exercise = 16km running, 41.8km cycling (on & off road), 7km hike. I'm upping the distances again but slowly
Over two weeks off the diet coke now, take it for granted that habit's gone. All I'm drinking is water and some fruit squashes. Can't say I feel any different but I know it's better for me.
Weight is exactly as I would expect with TOTM looming
Anyone seen FFM around lately?0 -
Hi all

Check in later
Off to tutor0 -
Thanks for the welcome back Bb
I have made a huge pan of vegetable soup and had it for lunch and breakfast. I know it is a bit odd to eat soup for breakfast but I was in a hurry to take the dog out and it was ready. I haven't felt hungry all day.
My weighing day is tomorrow and last time they weighed me was before the summer break and I know that I am down to 12 -5.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Today is the first day I've logged on since my holiday and I've just caught up with some of the chat.
Belated Happy Birthdays to Beanie, Victory and Vix :bdaycake:
Granny, could you please put me down for being 0.2lb below my 'maintaining' weight - not sure about weight loss/gain as I put some on during my holiday, lost it and more, and then put a bit more on last week :rotfl:
