  • reporting a 0.2kg gain this week which put entirely down to the box of biscuits i had last night. Ah well they're gone now.

Annie, forgive me for not remembering, but are you going it alone this time with SW? It may be worth getting a few mags as they usually have a weekly meal planner and a lot more recipes besides. I'm sure you'll shift your holiday gain soon. That is the drawback with SW unfortunately - as soon as you go offpiste you gain hugely - i lost 10kg with it, lost focus, continued doing it in a really half assed way which involved picking a plan for hte day, going for it on free food and then eating other stuff too which completely negates the freefoodness! I'm now trying to lose 30kg, slowly getting more focussed.

  • Well I started Phase 1 last Thursday with the 5 days ending on Monday - and I lost 5lb! Really pleased with that as it seems to be the norm for this diet, so I'm into Phase 2 now. I am under no illusions that most of the loss was due to water retention etc but this is the biggest initial loss I've had on any diet (WW, Rosemary Conley, etc) so I'm thinking positively. I was slightly head-achy on days 3/4, the 'withdrawl symptoms' I was expecting, not due to caffeine (I dont drink coffee) but I did have a serious diet coke habit so that's probably the cause.

I now stay on Phase 2 for as long as it takes to reach my goal weight, which is to lose another 2 stone. Basically this consists of continuing to cut out any processed food, caffeine, alcohol, and not mixing fats and carbs in the same meal, plus not having anything that has added sugar (naturally-occurring sugar e.g. fruit is okay), which means most diet or low-cal foods are a no-no (they may take out that fat but add lots of sugar to enhance the taste). It takes ages to go round the supermarket now as I'm scrutinising the labels on everything looking for sugar or any type of sugar (things ending in -ose) - I can't even find wholemeal/organic bread that doesn't have sugar added!

I feel absolutely fine and my middle-aged spread is starting to recede - I even got my newly-washed jeans on this morning without having to lie down to do the zip up!! :D

  • Hello all

I missed last Wednesday because we were away on holiday. My weight this morning is 77.8 kg.

When I weighed on Wednesday 25th August I was down to 77.6 kg

The day we went away, 1st September, I was down to 77.0 kg, the lowest I'd been in some considerable time. So, in the 10 days we were away I put 1.4 kg back on. However, I'm losing it again.

Can you put me down as having gained 0.2 kg since I last reported here? I'm sure that by next week I'll be back to where I was. The weight gain I put down to holiday eating. And no, I didn't go mad, but I found it impossible to be on the Pink Granite Coast in Brittany and not try the local specialities of crepes and galettes. Crepes are a very thin pancake, sweet, with sweet fillings, or you roll one up and dip it in your coffee. Galettes are the savoury version - I had one called 'galette fermiere' which contained egg, thin ham, tomato and goat's cheese. And the odd cup of local cider...

    Back to healthy eating now!

  • Morning all. I am reporting 3.2 lbs loss this week (thanks granny). I haven't been that good but I am using breastfeeding as an excuse to eat a little more on this diet than I normally would. The weight should be falling off me, no??? Anyway, quite happy with that loss. Beanielou - how are you doing, slimming partner?
  • well done all!
  • 0.4lb loss this week please.
Bit disappointing but nevermind a loss is a loss I suppose.

Well done to all the other losers! or should that be :j?
  • If it's easier, you can put me down as having gained 0.9 of a pound since I last reported here on 26th August.
