Thanks for that Granny, and I think it's a splendid idea to beging the 'new year' of school with an added bit of gusto. We have only 17 weeks until Christmas you know... how depressing is that? On the upside, that is a potential loss of 34lbs, or 2 stone 6lbs. Now, that would be a couple of dress sizes for most of us, wouldn't it?
I'm going to be cycling my youngest to/from school as much as I can, and I will ensure there are no naughty things in the house from next week. I reckon if we all stick at it, and encourage one another to be extra good, we should do well.
Missy, are we due some new quarterly goal setting soon? I'm going to throw one out there now, and say I'm not going to have any chocolate before Christmas. I did really well when I didn't have any during Lent, and then through to after Easter. It really helped me.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Hello lovely people. I need a group hug. Found out today a friend of mind is dying and it's too late to see her one last time. She was immensly kind to me during a very rough time in the 90's. I keep breaking down into tears. I know that's ok and natural but I'm very tired.
Good parts of today were seeing my parents and playing with my scroll saw again. And eating too many profiteroles, but they were my early birthday cake...
Thanks for the chart granny.
Sary - good idea about new goals: I think the run down to xmas is a good focus for the next set. I need to get a grip of myself food wise...
My main goals last Jan were to focus more of my creative side and slowly this has been happening: I now have a whole corner of our front room with desk, lamp shelves etc for me to work at and I am building regular stuff into my week and was one of the reasons I was at my parents to cut out things I'm working on for mosaic projects etc.
Beanie - I like your take on the release.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Brighton Belle~ a big squishy hug for you hun.

BB - how lovely to share memories of your friend being immensely kind. If only we could all be remembered for our kindness. And how dreadful it would be if no one cried at the prospect of a special person dying. You are so right to say that it is OK and natural to cry. The sad thing is that we are brought up not to show those emotions, and trying to hold in the tears is stressful.
As Beanie said - squishy hugs to you. XX0 -
bb the biggest of hugs coming your way.
I f we are doing goals until xmas sary you really know how to cheer people up saying it is only 17 weeks until xmas:eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: then mine is going to be to try to get rid of the 'you look like 3 months pregnant with that stick out belly ' for the xmas party OH works dress which I have already thanks to trusted ebay but the roundness at the front is not pretty and yes before anyone says have tried magic knickers but do quite like breathing also:rotfl::rotfl:there is no flatness, how I miss my youth:D0 -
Really really sorry to hear about your friend BB, maybe you could write down your memories and put it in a book with some photos so you can always look and remember the happy times you've experienced.

hey guys,
im doing a healthy eating and severe low consumption in food (not in a dangerous way) sort of diet. I have decided to start taking the Alli diet pills to see if they work.. the woman at Boots lectured me about them.
I only started taking them on wednesday and you are meant to take them wit ha meal where u have fat in.
It is too early to report back any results but just wondering about what you guys think about them.
It is just a kick start as I am an unhealthy weight and very unhappy about my shape.
Thanks0 -
BB really sad to hear about your friend
Losing the good people in our lives is so difficult to come to terms with
Mirnish - good luck with your approach, I hope it works for youLet us know how you get on.
Sary we've been doing quarterly reviews at end March, June, Sept & Dec but I think only about 2 or 3 of us commented in June so I wasn't sure whether to bother carrying on with it?I like having medium-term goals myself but perhaps it's not everyone's cup of tea?! Good luck with your non-choccie one anyway, let's check in at the end of next month
Granny I don't see how you can take the blame for the small collective loss of the whole chart :rotfl: It's not bad at all, I don't think the equivalent of a "team STS" is anything to be ashamed of for the month of August!!! If you think about all the peeps who've been off on hols it's really rather good!0 -
Thank you for being our accountant, Granny!
Victory, a couple of suggestions for you:
1. While breathing normally, try pulling your belly-button in towards your backbone. Put your hands on your waist and try it!
2. Lie on your bed, put your knees up with feet flat on bed, cross your arms over your chest and try lifting your head and shoulders off the pillow. Don't worry if you can't. It's the trying which is important.
I have a morning routine: up early, loo, shower, weigh, dress, water plants outside, switch computer on, have a small protein snack of 60g cottage cheese with pineapple and 2 teaspoons of Sanatogen protein powder, with a glass of water. Then do the warm-up and basic exercises in Tom Venuto's book 'The Body Fat Solution'. Some days I don't do that so I have a walk around the block. Doing the exercises on the big muscles in legs and bum is helping me to walk better. Not long since I could barely walk at all!!!
