I note this morning that the domain names have been swapped from one account to the other as requested - as usual, excellent service! If only the other members of your team were as up to speed in regard to using their initiative.
Having said that, as I said in my pm I am quite happy to say in public that the main reason for me using MAAF is the generally helpful attitude of people like yourself and Karen in Technical Services who despite the root of the problem being faulty BT wiring in my house and therefore nothing to do with the ISP, worked extremely hard with me over 5 months to get to the bottom of the very poor speeds I was getting after switching to broadband max.
Keep your prices in line and I will be with you for ever!0 -

Hi Samara,
I am looking to get BB on a BT line that has never before had BB activated before. Thing is i am only in the residence for 6 months. I have all the relevant equipment so would not need you to provide me with any. How much would your service cost and what would be the cancelation charge after 6 months service.
Regards
Andy0 -
Hello Dawsonio,
If you provide the router and you wish to cancel after 6 months (being a new provision) the cancellation fee would be £55 to cover the cost of connection.
Thank you for your interest in our services!
Kind regards,

Hi Guys,
Because of the exorbitant fees that we have to pay credit card companies to process card transactions we are introducing a card handling fee of £1 a month for payments by credit card. You can completely avoid this fee by paying via Direct Debit or debit card.
For existing customers who are paying by credit card you will not be charged the £1 unless you change/upgrade your package or change your billing method from Direct Debit to credit card. At this time the £1 credit card handling fee will be introduced.
We thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Kind regards,

I for one don't understand this.
If MAAF consider the charges for their credit card transactions are now excessive, then it would seem the people to take it up with is the bank, rather than just pass on what is a truly excessive charge to the customers.
No-one else charges such a high charge for accepting credit cards. When companies have not factored in the cost of credit cards in their prices, then they ask for around 2 or 3%.
This flat £1 charge seems to be a profit making exercise - and certainly means that Max customers are now subsidising the credit card transactions for Max Plus and Max Premier customers, bearing in mind the increased payments they make each month, which presumably "cost" MAAF more than the fees they pay on credit card transactions for the lower costing Max customers.0 -
Paying by Direct Debit or Debit card will mean that you do not get charged the additional £1 a month. It's actually quite easy to avoid the credit card handling fee.
You could compare this to the £3.50 that Talk Talk currently charges for paying by Credit Card.....
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas Quentin.

As most of our customers have upgraded to speeds up to 8MB already - there is currently hardly any waiting period and you should be upgraded within about a week of placing the order.....

Hi, and thank you for your reply on ways to avoid paying this new charge - though my point was that if MAAF think that the charges imposed on them by the Bank for credit card transactions is excessive, then definitely this customer considers the new charge to be imposed by MAAF on customers to be even more excessive!!
As far as your point about Talk Talk charging £3.50 if you pay them with a credit card, I think you are mistaken - and wonder about the ethics of one ISP spreading falsehoods about a competitor.
In fact Talk Talk have no tariff for charging their customers for using credit cards to pay for their broadband - they only allow payment via direct debit, and make no extra charge for this.
And, of course, (forgetting about all this credit card nonsense), a Very Happy Christmas to you, Samara!0 -

Please hit the link that I included in my post regarding Talk Talk.
Have a look at point 5, that's where I got my info.5. Direct Debit
Here you'll find the date on which your bank account will be automatically debited. Note: If you do not pay by Direct Debit you will be charged an additional administration fee of £3.50 per month.
Had a great Christmas, thank you!
